The bear paw knife is a knife I got for my mom in the early thousands! It had to be 2000 or 2001.I tried to engrave her name, Aleisha not Alaska, but being 8 or 9 years oldish, I wasn’t very good. This is incredible! It was in my dads old hunting backpack she tried to use as a carry on going to Colorado and she never checked the pockets. I can’t believe this, I remember it being claimed a few years ago and the story she told about it but what are the literal odds that ended up here. It was claimed by TSA in 2012, and its almost 20 years old now. I’m sending this to my mom and dad right away, what a small world. I did, once. In a hunting bag coming back from deer season. It was a huge knife and it had slipped under a flap in the bottom of my bag. The lady freaked out when she saw it on xray and then it took her forever to find it. I'm sure it ended up on ebay somewhere

True story, I had a small gerber in my backpack I forgot about and the Toilet Seat Administration (TSA) found it so I gave it up, about a year later I was browsing eBay for used knives and came across the same model gerber being sold in a TSA lot from a guy in Atlanta (where I had to give it up) further inspection showed that it was my knife. I could tell due to some unique blemishes on the blade and scales, so I ended up buying my same knife back just for the story, since this was a cheap backup knife anyway.

The one with a ”fork" and the pattern on the handle that's all metal.... That is a divot repair tool for golf when you use a wedge or iron. The little patch of grass that flies up after the swing, it's considered good ediquite to replace the lil chunk where it's bald, and use the "fork" to reseat the plug so it'll take root again. 👍
I received a shoebox of knives from a friend who flips houses. He knew I am a knife guy and he kept a few for himself and gave me the rest. He kept a Ridge Runner fixed blade and a couple of low quality folders. He obviously doesn't know anything about knives because I found knives from Kershaw, Cold Steel, Boker and CRKT, among others. Best gift ever!
I have lost a few knives to TSA. I fly a lot, and sometimes I just forget that one is in my pocket. I have even got through TSA with a knife, more than once. It took me some time and I am a total crkt fan boy. You won me over totally with this video. You're a damn riot. Thank you for introducing me to other quality brands bud
I don't mind crkt but they don't have many truly budget friendly knives. They have way to many 8cr knives that they want 50-60 dollars for. I prefer Kershaw because they seem to have more affordable blades though they have poor material knives that they want over 50 bucks for too just not as many imo. Cold steel is a good one though for price to material ratio. Nowadays I prefer Chinese brands because I can get way better materials for the price.
So, I've got a few of these. Mostly gifts for being in a wedding party or door prizes from various events. I've often wondered what to do with this crap and now I know they're adequate for airport carry. Thanks Nick Also, I own a Ka Bar spoon, fork a knife set that clip together. The nail clipper at 27:30 has the Zwilling logo (German company) on it, thus probably not that cheap. The company produces kitchen knives etc. that aren’t cheap.
The second knife (6:45) was my knife... i was letting a friend borrow and it because it was a super cheapo knife and he thought it was a good idea to try to keep it on him on a flight and i never saw that knife again till now (and yea... the substance is a material illegal of the federal level but legal on the state level of where i am)
The blue knife at 1hr 4 mins is missing a very small light that sits in the hole. Magnetized to slide in the hole and everything. Used to be an uncultured swine, and owned this same knife previously.
Nick...those files were fingernail files.....not for filing metal. Grooves do make it a file if the substance being filed is softer. The curved end is to get all the nasty from under the nail. After you cut your nails with the dull knife or scissors, you need to file all the rough edges of the nails.
Those fork and spoon knives were 100% from Boy Scout members or backpack campers who forgot to empty their backpacks before using it as a carry on. I guarantee it. It bothers me that people pay money for knives like this when they could be getting at least a USA Kershaw or Buck
8:05 “This, what is this? I have no idea what this actually is. I have never seen a Knife exactly like this one and may I never again.” 😂😯 Morning, I have been watching your videos on and off for a while and your reviews always entertain me with great detailed information that is most helpful especially with my low center vision. So thanx! Yep, positivity and focusing on what brings us all together such as our love for Knives and Gear/Gadgets! I will continue enjoying this video, just wanted to say how amazing it is that I was traveling around a year ago and I was talking to my Fiancee about whow I hoped they got to pick through the Knives the TSA collects from forgetful/silly/brain dead people. They once had a Christmas Tree full of Knives and I really liked that so it was like presents for all the employees who I think well deserve them. Sad for the people who genuinely forget they had their Knife so they had to hand it over but may those Knives have a good and caring Home unlike so many of those abused and NASTY Knives you are handling. 🤮 Glad to know you are being cautious with so much questionable germs, those Gloves may need to be tossed in the Hazard bin. 😱 Be well, Joyous blessing to you and yours. So interesting what some of the general public carry, interesting to put it lightly.
Ha. I've been rocking a full size Gerber Paraframe lately. I forgot about it and it was in my box of knives. People sure do crap on that knife. Mine is from 2005/6 and it was my entry knife into the knife world and it surprisingly has very smooth and fast opening and no side to side blade play. Gave it a razor sharp free hand sharpening. The other thing is if I lose it at work it won't bother me. My usual carry is a Buck 110 aluminum, Buck 560 titanium, Gerber 06 Manual or Adamas. I'll be honest though, I almost had to give myself a pep talk before I started carrying the Paraframe again. I actually have been watching videos on it trying to find someone who will give it a positive attribute. Oh well, put it to work today and it did the job.
I decided to watch this video because, well, for one, it looked interesting, and two, because I first seen this guy on a Blade HQ video...👌🏼 But I throughly enjoyed watching this video and listening to Nick's banter...👍🏼💯✔
All my local stores were out of TP, so I bought paper towels, but now I need to cut those giant rolls into TP sized rolls... and ofc that means I need to buy a new knife - any suggestions?
I personally carry this one www.bladehq.com/item--Kershaw-Rexford-Amplitude-Frame--90617 daily and have been for at least 5 years now. It's easy to sharpen, holds an edge well enough (8cr13 steel so not the best not the worst) and has literally no play which is amazing for how long I've carried it, how much I've used it, and never tightened anything down myself. And at 20 bucks on blade hq it's a total steal. Can't recommend it enough....

Memories of scraping and smoking resin hit me hard after seeing that knife. I could almost taste it.
@@thesaltypickle556 that is all that knife was used for
@@oliverevans9057 i have one for that exact purpose too
@@thesaltypickle556 you think nick would send me my knife back lmao
@@oliverevans9057 Im gonna have to say probably not, but im routing for you bud.
Nicks hands are immaculate. Not a callus or any other signs of use what so ever. Well played Nick, well played.
Whoever shreds styrofoam is a monster
IM A REAL MONSTER THEN!!!!
The blue knife at 1hr 4 mins is missing a very small light that sits in the hole. Magnetized to slide in the hole and everything. Used to be an uncultured swine, and owned this same knife previously.
6:38, that is in fact a residue. its pipe residue.
Nick...those files were fingernail files.....not for filing metal. Grooves do make it a file if the substance being filed is softer. The curved end is to get all the nasty from under the nail. After you cut your nails with the dull knife or scissors, you need to file all the rough edges of the nails.
The fork thing-ie is for replacing your divids on the fairways. Golf knife, if there is a thing lol
Was that the small silver knife with the broken tool?
Right away you knew the 2nd knife was used for scraping bowls hahaha
I can't believe I watched the whole thing !!
Those fork and spoon knives were 100% from Boy Scout members or backpack campers who forgot to empty their backpacks before using it as a carry on. I guarantee it.
It bothers me that people pay money for knives like this when they could be getting at least a USA Kershaw or Buck

I loved the utensil bit. Man I haven't actually laughed at a you tube video in a while. This whole video is pure gold.
8:05 “This, what is this? I have no idea what this actually is. I have never seen a Knife exactly like this one and may I never again.” 😂😯
Morning, I have been watching your videos on and off for a while and your reviews always entertain me with great detailed information that is most helpful especially with my low center vision.
Glad to know you are being cautious with so much questionable germs, those Gloves may need to be tossed in the Hazard bin. 😱
Be well, Joyous blessing to you and yours. So interesting what some of the general public carry, interesting to put it lightly.
This is the first video of yours I ever watched and it is still a gem. I love this video and would love to see another
"Pokey thing with hole" is for stitching leather.
They didn't sharpen it at "awl"
Was that an unintended pun or did he know exactly what he was doing?
Awl right!
He knew but since it was not sharpened good luck using it it as an owl so he joked about it
Awls with sharpened edges double as reamers for boring holes into soft material.
Tops El "Chete" ( pronunciation is the key here) 😂😂😂😂
Byrd Meadowlark, reprofile the edge down to about 20-25 degrees or so and put a fine polished edge on it. That’d be a good cheap option.
Pretty much anything Kershaw since they're decent and you can also get it at wal mart...
I did see one at my local wal mart too but that was a while back.
Thank God the TSA saved a plane from being hijacked with a key knife!!! lol
This dudes accent is perfect for this content
There used to be a Swiss Army knife, pretty sure it was Victorinox, with eating utensils. My brother had one decades ago as a Boy Scout. I’d forgotten about it and haven’t seen one since but this reminded me.
“This is bear themed, this is bear THEMED!” LOL 😂
Appa-lat-chin
And
Yoza-mite
Made me lol.
I love your videos.
When does video started I thought he was doing a weird voice. So I fast forwarded for 10 minutes and I realized it’s his real voice! Wtf

Speaking as a "real" Shannon...I appreciate your handling of my namesake "knife". 😂😂😂😂😂😂
