In most countries, it isn’t a missing persons case until 24 hours have passed so that was one thing they actually got right
If the police gets a missing persons report specifically about a teenager, they will ask for how long they have been missing for, and if it's been less than 2/1 day(s) (depending on the country) they will tell you to wait for a day or so because teenagers do run away, if they don't come back they will send out a search party. But if the parent insists their child absolutely DID NOT run away they will send out search party teams

I'm in foster care and I have had some bad experiences with carers but I am living happily with one now, and permanence is happening soon! 😁

Actually in a lot of countries, you must wait 24 hours before reporting someone missing. Usually because some kids run away for like an hour or so. Or sometimes they’re shopping. So, in some countries you must wait 24 hours before filing a missing police report.
They should change it to like atleast 10 hour someone can't be shopping for 10 hours
Even here in America it’s 48 hours💀 maybe not every state but there are a lot before they take a missing person seriously, they ask so many questions like “well are you sure she isn’t the type to run away” it’s so stupid

Just a little reminder- in some places you acually do have to wait 24hours to file a missing person report
Dialing 911 and hanging up will instantly get the po-po knocking on your door.
I can attest to tht from when my toddler brother did tht n screamed when I ripped the phone from him to hang up, tht made it worse 😭 mom was NOT happy. The ops thought she was beating him or something. You know how toddlers get when u take something from them.

It is true that cops have to wait 24 hours (depending on who and at what age they have mental disabilities or not) to start looking for that person. They May wait 48 hours up to 3 days, depending on where you live.

I actually know a girl who was sold at 3. She had a baby as a teenager and the hospital was who rescued her. This was in 1996.
I’ve got a story.. like 3 years ago I went to the beach with my best friend and we went along to look for shells. We forgot to tell her mom where we were going so she got the life guards and search team to look for us….. when we came back, she was really mad at us and had to tell the search teams that we were safe and we just looked for shells… so we were grounded for 30 mins and had to sit on our surfboards away from eachother on the sand until ungrounded 😂
