Thanks! I want to do this myself, just haven’t gotten up the nerve yet, lol.( I worry about the gasket and needing a new one but the transmission is apart. )

It's easy brother, also the gasket is a reusable one just dont bend it and you'll be fine. Mine is working great no leaks after reinstalling it.

The gasket is reusable, just be careful removing the pan and not damaging the gasket. Don't over torque the bolts when installing the pan.

I was debating of doing an entire flush and replacing with Amsoil Synthetic on my 2016 E-450 RV, (I do pull a car hauler). After realizing it would take 18+- quarts at $20 per qt, this may be the best route. What does everyone think is it worth the money?

A drain and fill is adequate.

Great informative video. I have a 2014 F350 which we use to pull a 45' 5th wheel with. No shifting issues, but I have been thinking about doing this fluid change based on the work a transmission goes through when stressed during an RV pull. The last thing a person needs is a transmission issues during a trip with an RV attached. After watching your video, I can now do it myself with confidence. The links too Amazon were a great addition, I ordered everything needed with a couple clicks of the mouse, thank you, Only negative comment I have is you don't mention the year of your truck and how to tell the transmission model but again overall a great job and I'm looking forward to more videos. You mentioned the torque converter? Are you still going to do a video on that?

Thank you for your feed back! My truck is a 2015 F250 6.7 Powerstroke. 4x4 Lariat. The transmission is the 6r140 which is what the use in all 6.7 powerstrokes up till 2020 and also in the gas models. I appreciate the comment. And plan to make more videos as I continue to do maintenance on my truck.

Good video, how do you keep your engine bay clean? What cleaner do you use or process?

I use a pressure washer and an all purpose cleaner like purple power for instance. I spray it on the engine avoiding electronics the best I can. Then I use a detail push and scrub brush to clean it. Afterwards I start with a pressure washer constantly moving it around to avoid over exposure.

My struggle is operating temperature. What is the correct temp to check the fluid on the 6.7?

@@TrentsGarage Makes for a big ol mess to drop that pan! I might replace it with a PPE or aFE one. I tow a lot and make life easier to change the fluid more often.

Check out the vid on using a self tapping screw and then installing a drain plug kit.

“Take pride in your stuff” ... ... ... you’ve obviously never kept a car in New England.. no way your engine bay would be that clean in NH, VT, or ME. Too much salt.

    • @TrentsGarage

You just have to clean it more often. I have lived it cold places to include Germany for 2 years as well and believe me they salt their roads heavily. Just wash the vehicle weekly. Thanks for watching.
