I absolutely love this idea. Is this corn flour or corn starch? Completely two different things. Looks like starch. Corn flour is a bit more chunky and darker. Also is that regular school paint for kids? Have to try this.
Its flour. You can use either one. Yes any colour would do.

Здравствуйте! Сушить тычинки удобно на сложенном гармошкой листе А4, можно до 100 шт поместить.

Галина..наверно с крахмалом...обычно из него делают.. Я, попробовала вчера этим способом..Вы знаете у меня стекала с нитки эта масса..хотя я делала погуще..И одного слоя мало..нужно повторно проделывать эту работу.. Мне это надоело, да и времени и нервов много уходит.. Я , взяла массу сделала как пластилин или холодный фарфор.. и пальчиками накручивала на нитку какого мне нужного размера и формы..удлиннённый или круглый.. За пол часа я наделала кучу ( я не считала ) Тебе никакой грязи..приспособления для сушки ненадо..да и место много ненадо.. Накрутила и на стол..и быстро сохнет.. Красота..самый удобный и лёгкий способ.. Интересно кто нибудь делает так..☺☺☺или это я такой гений ( это я так шучу ) Попробуйте..

After dipped into corn flour glue mixer its fell down from the thread before dry. What can i do?
Mixture may have been to thick for the thread. Try thinning out more. Also, if you feel like it is not stiff enough, you can always redip. Make sure they are completely dry before making the colored tops.

It is soluble in water, but you can try to use them but make sure that you coat every bud with clear nail polish after drying, that way it will be long-lasting. But I don't think they can survive after washing your clothes.
