It goes both ways.I have not really met any girl that would listen to the XX with me. Maybe a year ago, I met someone but long story short it didn't work out. Haven't listened to this song since I was about 19. Listening to it at 32 is so incredibly nostalgia inducing, it makes me miss a simpler time when everyone was carefree and lived for the adventure and moments with our friends we felt we were having the deepest most meaningful times of our lives with. The truth is, some of those really were the most meaningful moments we'll ever have, and we need to continue to try to make those moments even though we're older and have less time and different priorities than we did back then.

I first came across them when they won the mercury music prize, me & my girlfriend both hooked, bought the album & over the next 4 years it was one of our most played. My girlfriend is not with me anymore, my girlfriend ended her life & I couldn't stop her I tried God knows I tried at times I felt I was even stopping the fuckin world. When this album came out I lived abroad in Oslo and when I heard this I thought this was something else, a unique sound I’d never heard before. Really sends me back to those days in 2010/2011 :)

This reminds me of back in high school when me and some friends broke into an abandoned theater I used to go to as a kid. We just ran amok, looking in the rooms and projection booth. We vandalized and tagged the place with band names and gibberish.
When I look back on it now, it was fun and just something I did. It has no other significance other than that I actually did something at one time.
