I'm happy to call Connie and her mum good family friends. I met Connie and her mum in 2014 at the Opening of the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow and we just started chatting. I told her that I remembered her from the programme the Visit and from there on we became good friends. She actually stays across from where I live so we see each other quite a lot.
Says it all. Why is he such a phenomenon. Because despite it all,he kept it real. He's genuine. All the music,moves,looks,singing,is hung on a foundation of a decent man. Talent in buckets but the humanity shines through. A lot of stars would do well to learn from his story. Just pre-ordered his new album and was proud to see Shaky in 2016 touring his new style album then. It's all good and the new tracks very soul searching. Shaky matures,so does the music and we've got everything else as well. What's not to like. May it continue.

Loved his music and the whole rockabilly era when I was a kid in the 80s and temporarily living in Europe, but never knew much about the man behind the music. Seeing interviews now, and these sorts of gestures, has just elevated him in my esteem as a human being. The music is secondary to his humanity. Thumbs up

The amazing difference in Connie between that first and second visit of Shaky's is miraculous. She just came on in leaps and bounds after his first visit. Beautiful to see. Hope she and her family are still doing well. God bless you Shaky it was a beautiful selfless thing to do. Most would do just one visit but you went the extra mile. And God bless Connie and her family as well. It must have been so tough for her mum there at the start. It made a lump in my throat watching this mum watch her child in such a bad way. I'm so happy Connie made it through. Shaky you deserve a knighthood why you have not got one is beyond me. But you are a white knight to all of us, man.
