The women yelling and screaming ruined the entire video. She was so obnoxious that I couldn’t watch the whole video and had to turn it off at the 4 minute mark, no way I could listen to that woman for another 13:00 minutes. It certainly was a beautiful fish tho , congratulations !!
nice fish. i wasnt there but doesnt look any way near 1000lbs..I have fished the reef in Australia and have seen 1000 lb marlin. 2 on a scale. Beautiful fish
Not a 1000lb and the angler showed no skill. Just turned the handle while to boat chased the fish down. Can’t recall seeing he lift the Rod then drop and wind. She did not fight the fish. Also the fish was not caught it was lost at the boat. There’s no chance a bunch of walks have the teamwork to land a big blue. IGFA RULES ALSO DONT ALLOW ANYONE BUT THE ANGLER TO TOUCH THE ROD. The leader man had his hand on the rod
Fish was definitely close to the mark…not to mention 90% of catching a blue marlin is turning the handle, what do you want her to do pump for no reason when she’s steady gaining? we back down as hard as we can before she has the chance to die and sink to the bottom where you risk breaking her off trying to plane the fish up using the current. Yes the mate didn’t do things igfa legal but more then likely this was just a Charter for more so Yellowfins/mahis out of Oregon inlet so things aren’t quite for igfa standards unless the charter specifies as such or they were fishing a tournament following igfa guidelines. Don’t comment unless you actually know what your talking about. These are just paying everyday people not professional anglers…for Pete sake that woman’s screams will haunt my nightmares
It would have been nice, but if this was a charter, then most of them aren't IGFA. For me though, the pity is not seeing her close up. Of course she was huge, but I'd like a closer view to see if she was over 1000. I've caught over 100, but the biggest I've landed was 605.

What a pity it was not caught by IGFA rules. Mate touching the rod. Handlining at the end,
It would have been nice, but if this was a charter, then most of them aren't IGFA.
