- Took the ol Miata to my home track for their first ever drift event. learned A LOT and had a absolute blast! this was huge for my local area, typically people who live around me have to drive 3ish hours anywhere to go drift. Having a event so close to home as a dream!
MODS ON THE MIATA.
extended lower ball joints
extended brake lines
cut knuckles (built by me)
power steering cooler
tein coilvers

As an nb owner it took me a second to realize what button you were reaching for lol. Fun video dude.
Hahah thanks!
@@pop_pops_garage i dont see you ripping the ebrake, do you just clutch kick to initiate the drift?
@@tahir8929 yessir! brakes are for the weak! but for real the handbrake is a bandaid for a lack of driving avility and with low power you need to go fast so anything that will slow you down will mess up your line
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

danngggggg Calvin THICCCCCCCCCCC
ol boi caked up for no reason

lmfao
What kind of alignment specs you running? Tires and wheels?
i dont remember the exact numbers but max caster max camber and a little toe out in the front. the rear is like a degree or 2 of camber a hair toe in. tires are always random i normally try to run a 195/45-15 or a 195/50-15 on a 8in wide wheel in the rear. the front i run a 195/45 on a 15x7 with a 2in spacer
Bro wear ur seatbelt the car was beeping at the start
i know i know im bad with that
Hey, why do you keep pushing the button?
I was just flipping the headlights up and down for the crowd. Everyone seemed to enjoy it
@@pop_pops_garage right, I don't have these in my nb :)

LETSSSS GOOO!!!! CAN'T WAIT TO GO DRIFT WITH YA HOMIE!!!!
Sameee 😩😩 one day!
Siiiick. Looks like fun. Is that your old Ford van in the background?
Yup! Kevin bought it
Gangster video! If MIR would start holding these events more I’d being so willing to learn to drift my Mustang, looks so fun!
yah unfortunately its not looking good :( i wish they would do more i had a blast!
What clutch do you run and how did it hold up?
i just have a stock clutch in the car right now. it could really use a new clutch but it works!
@@pop_pops_garageAwesome! And what would you say is the most common stuff to break drifting a Miata? Like I said Im really wanting to hit the track but want to come prepared!
@@BurningRubberDC not much. the diff arms are weak but people only really break them or the rears when they have to stiff of clutches
Awesome vid! I have a 2000 probably going to be at piedmont drift soon.
peidmont is a blast! if you think your going to fast go faster!
Day 999 of asking Andy for the slogan shirt...
Yah yah yah
Hello thanks for your videos! Question: are you driving your drift car on road to reach Drift park/event or do you use a trailer ? Do you have a specific insurance for that?
I don’t have tags for this car, i have to many car to afford insurance on everything. I trailer but what normally ends up happening is someone will break and we put their car on the trailer and we street drive the Miata home. The Miata is 100% capable of street driving to and from events. They do sell racing insurance but idk anyone that uses it for drifting, you can get in trouble if your insurance wants to be a pain but it’s the same with any type of racing.
Thx for your fast reply! really appreciated it.
I'm racing but want to buy/built a new drift car as I don't want to destroy my daily/racing car lol. Hard to start this project as I have so many questions in my mind :) Thx for helping! @@pop_pops_garage
Get ya boi Kevin a bucket seat man’s is holding on for dear life
Hahahah he will be okay. Tbh he’s probably got a couple. That’s his street car he has a few other mustang he drifts
Is your Mazda a 1.6 or 1.8. Cuz I want to buy an mx5 to build my own drift car. And want to know if a 1.6 is enough.
mine is a 1.8 but the 1.6s can still do the thing! you just run a bunch of tire pressure
@@pop_pops_garage oké thank. I wil keep it as an consideration. Cuz in the Netherlands there are not much 1.8 to get. Other tips for me ?
@@TVE-Racing i have a video on my channel all bout hoe to drift a miata!
love the video keep it up 🔥
Thanks!!
You’re talking about being 100% but not banging limiter. Pedal down bro! As one low power guy to another give it everything it’s got through every gear lol
Mine won’t i run a really grippy setup haha. It will in 1st
@@pop_pops_garage I’m running 0 camber with 195/50 Ironman iMove ii on 20psi.
@@GundamAeroMx5 sheeshhh and on a na? mines stock stock it just doesnt haha i wish it would
@@pop_pops_garage yessir head been slightly shaved but thicker HG to account for it. I think my FM lightweight flywheel made the biggest difference in how it revs though
@@pop_pops_garage just seemed like you’re not giving it everything in the video. Short shifted first at like 4500 and these motors don’t open up until 4500+. Let it eat bro! Keep the revs high and it’ll keep the tires spinning. Good driving regardless
That’s my boy Lyle
:o
Dope vid buddy!!!
Thanks!
