If they were going to make a sequel to megamind the plot of the movie should have been focused on him getting adjusted to being in the hero role while bettering the relationship with Roxanne. Having him start to doubt himself being a hero until he sees a villain pop up that makes him remember Metroman's words and solidifying his confidence in his role as a hero.
Button of Doom, while short, did a good story with Megamind at first feeling like in order to be the Hero, he had to change his ways and the way he did things by removing everything that made him great. It was only when he realized it was his mind and cool gadgets that won the day rather than trying to be like metronan, he accepted that he would have to be himself.
Im all fairness even in the movie hes shown and goofy and physically weak, but in the movie they still showed him as capable, smart and inventive. Brains over brawn.
