great review! But the fan noise is quite loud. maybe easy to edit away but still, it´s quite loud during the whole video. Have you tried stopping the fan (with toothpick)? Should be OK right?
Nice review sir. I want to ask for your recommendation, i'm on a really tight budget and really want to buy a light for cinematic product shoot with 60fps, would i be able to keep my iso as low as 100-250 with the apperture of 4 shutter speed 120, i want to create videos like daniel schiffer
Hey, I'm a Malaysian filmmaking enthusiast myself. I've been meaning to get my first lighting kit. I have a budget of RM800. Do you have any suggestions for a good light kit i can get within that price range? Should I get just one good light and a reflector or get a smaller on camera light and save the money for other equipment eg: Fluid tripod head and a lens hood?
Here are a few options to consider: Yongnuo YN300 Yongnuo YN600 Yongnuo YN900 Aputure AL528 Note that the Yongnuos have a fan that will generate some noise when they run. The aputure has no fan and is silent. YN900 supports bluetooth control form smartphone. A fluid tripod head is highly recommended, but don't bother with lens hoods. If it comes with your lens then its fine and you can use it when necessary, but if you need to purposely fork out extra money for a lens hood, the effect it gives is probably not worth the cash.
Bluerthanlou I have kept it on for very long periods of time. The cooling fan will kick in so I guess you wouldn't need to worry about overheating. The power adapter does tend to get very hot after long periods of usage though.
I hate long reviews, but I will be honest, I actually sat and watched the whole thing, so you did a good job keeping my attention. subbed!
Thank you ZY, I Love your reviews as they always are honeste.. Each product has pro's and con's and you highlight them all.
Thank you. You explain a lot but in a clear and straightforward way.
Cleared me of every doubt I needed solved. Thank you!

Great review! Was it the only light source in the room or you also had natural daylight?
Great review! Thanks for being so thorough :)

Thank you for this review. It was really good!
Thanks for your work
Use the barn doors to clip diffusion paper and they'll keep the diffusion paper far enough away from the LEDs to make it effective.

Thanks for the great review. Are the batteries recharging when the DC power adapter is plugged in or do I need an extra charger? Thanks and cheers!
Nope, the batteries do not charge when DC is plugged in unfortunately. The Aputure AL528 does that tho :) Cheers!
ZY Productions yes thats the one I'll go for then probably... Plus it has no annoying fan... :)
Hey man, great review you should do more...
Thanks for such detailed review ;)

Hi, which AC voltage adapter does it require? I can't find the info anywhere. I already have the light. Just trying to turn it on to start using.
I just purchased 2 Yongnuo YN-600L lights, looking for a carrying case for them, any suggestions?
GREAT VIDEO, VERY HELPFUL!! THANKS. BLESSINGS!!!
What is the White Balance you are operating your camera on while shooting this video.
Would this work well during a night shoot if I used got three for 3 point lighting? Or would I need to get the 900?
Hello! I dont get it bright, mine stil feels quite low power comparing to yours
can i use 12v adapter with this led panel?
Where do you recommend that I get this unit in Malaysia?
How can i move the direction of the panel to diagonal direction?
works with one battery?
Can you turn both LED sides on at the same time to make it maximum brightness?
+K Le Yes, that is possible.
Wow thanks for the lightning fast response.
Zy, can I use this for photography? what battery does it takes?
+Joseph Aris Aton Yes, definitely. This uses 2 Sony NPF batteries.

Would 6hrs be a problem?
Shouldn't be.
Thank for your help zy! :D
Hello. batteries charge when you connect the power supply?
mihai tudor No. The Aputure AL528 has that feature though.
Tnx
Does it have a built in charger for the 2 batteries
No, you need to get separate chargers.
Do you have any flicker problems with the YN600 or the AL528 LEDs?
Sean Ng Not too sure with the AL528, but the YN's have no flicker issues.
ZY Productions Thanks! Great job with the reviews!
