Is it just me or in the "soil on carpet test" the T20 had to deal with a LOT of more dirt. Same in the mopping test - way more liquid to clean for the t20. Have you used scales to weight the amonut of dirt and some measuring cup for the liquid to asses the amounts of both?
Thanks for pointing out the vacuum test that the X2 actually misses the intersection of horizontal and vertical paths. Hopefully Ecovacs is listening to your feedback as much as hoping you’ll advertise for them.

In the UK the T20 is £750 and the X2 is £1200. Hard to see what is £450 better with the X2 given it appears from user tests to not quite be as good at mapping / obstacle avoidance. Id think for the price differential it would have to be substantially better other than just being slightly more compact and more modern looking
I think cleaning efficiency is only an issue in extreme tests like I did on screen. In average use it seems great. I agree that it’s a large price difference between the two for niche features, but the design changes mattered a lot to me who has this placed in the living room and needs it to fit under furniture. If Ecovacs adjusts the cleaning pattern to overlap slightly it’ll be far superior in cleaning.
Very helpful comparison. I am planning on buying the T20 as it currently has some attractive pricing right now. My main concern is with reliability as these all carry a one year warranty. How do you get these repaired when they break in the future?
What firmware were each of the bots at when the testing was done? May help create a good baseline to come back to if they do make improvements. My X2 Omni is currently at 1.62.0, which updated about 2.5 weeks ago.
Hi I would like to know if the omni x2 needs to be connected to the internet to work, or can I have it connected to a spare phone via wifi left at home, so i can use scheduled features and settings can be used? I don't have Internet connection at home, nor do I need it. I am just trying to find a viable option without having to pay ongoing costs. I mean for that cost you would expect, most if not all the features to work out of the box without, kind of like a set and forget kind of thing.
Occasionally yes. The more I use it I see that on an initial pass. If I catch it happening I send it back to base, then run it again and it seems to be solved. Never does it twice in a row.

I agree but it gives me hope when it's truly a software issue. For the most part it's been reliable but the odd time it doesn't navigate the house properly and I stop it and run again, then it's fine. Fingers crossed for a software update!

The water used in mop function is most definitely adjustable on the Omni T20 - in fact there are 3 setting in the mop preference setting.

I would consider making contact with the obstacles a fail for the x2, can’t get tangled up in what it doesn’t touch.

Still currently having issues. The vacuum has been updated since the video but the problem persists.
