Guys you better hurry up with this as the skill needed to maintain this equipment is all most gone. Your policies of not being a manufacturing country had killed this type of work and the skill. I'm 56 a Fitter and Turner CNC Machinist there's no one behind us, and we are the last generation. There was no apprentices after us in the 90's and that continuing today. I spent 11 years in Aerospace manufacturing between 2001 and 2011 and it was killed off by the Australian government.

@@nevkirkham7657 yeah well the automotive was an advancement in technology that wasn’t tied up in state secrets. Nor was it able to be canceled in Australia with an act of the US Congress or the President. Nor did we have to sign secret multi billion dollar deal that could be canceled in a year for any reason. Nor did they take 20 years to come to the country, as the private sector brought them in. We didn’t have to give Detroit $4 billion dollar equivalent to ramp up production so we could get our first car in Australia. Your point is moot.

Talking about terrorists placing military complexes amongst civilians? Australian military Incompetence has ensured HMAS Stirling naval base, Perth, Western Australia is an inevitable first strike nuclear target. It is fact, prevailing SW winds will blanket NW Perth in nuclear fallout. Only an idiot would put greater Perth upon this inevitable track. There are many better options where fallout would have a zero 400 km impact.
