      I'm sorry but I'm russian and here we don't discuss other races and don't define people by colours but I've heard how people call others or themselves black or brown, so I tried to educate myself on this topic via internet and it broke my mind because a lot of things didn't make any sense 🙈 like when people say "he's black" it can mean anything and it doesn't even mean his skin has super dark colour. Meanwhile there are people in Kazakhstan or Uzbekistan who are asians but don't look stereotypical asian and they are naturally pretty tan but they're not brown and who they even are? Entire idea of definition of people by colours is ridiculous and doesn't make sense. I feel so bad for everyone who suffered because of that! But nowadays new time is coming and it's up to us to build new view of the world and people in it. And such videos help a lot with it because you learn to see people behind stereotypes and you see how diverse the world is even around one continent 🤗🌍

    7:53 actually made me quite emotional because it is something that many people in North America and Europe totally ignore when something does happen like when someone falls down, or if you can physically see that someone is not okay, or safe. I have a seizure condition and I had this experience in college where I was walking to class and I could feel my body signaling that I was going to have a seizure in a next few minutes. There wasn’t really anywhere to sit so ofcourse I just sit in one the hallways. And when I go into seizures I lose my ability to speak and it slowly progresses into a seizure. SO MANY walked by, even looked at me, but did absolutely nothing even though visually it was very clear I wasn’t ok . The ONLY person who noticed, came to sit by me, and called for emergency was an EGYPTIAN MAN. He didn’t try fix it or stop me from shaking but HE KNEW I WASNT OKAY AND NEEDED SUPPORT. AND it wasn’t until he came to me that people “noticed.” I’m telling you, there is something so beautiful culturally that is implemented within an entire region of people that society has taught so many to fear and it’s so in humane,so cruel, and it breaks my heart. I know that are good and bad people in every part of the world but the amount of discredit that is given to North Africans, Arabs, and others who are associated with this part of world I hope and pray changes because they are truly the most loving, humble, and most willing to do whatever they can in their ability for the people around them.

      Very true, for me as an Egyptian, you grow up knowing that your origins mainly go back to ancient Egyptians and can easily spot the shared ancestry, culture (traditional clothes, events, holidays, calendar, etc), linguistics (Coptic significantly influenced the grammar & pronounciation of our dialect and integrated a lot of words into it), traditions (Sham El-Neseem, 40 days of grief, etc) and all such kinds of similarities with them but will also see that your country is apparently considered the media hub and savior of the "Arab world" and pan-Arabism in-general due to our political, artistic and military superiority relative to MENA countries which creates an unstable ground for identity formation (especially for the youth).
      You'll find people who blindly follow Abdel Nasser's political agenda (pan-Arabism) and keep referencing our dialect's Arabic side and the official name of the country with the word Arab (which is a recent addition) - even to the point where they'll claim ancestry to Arabia - and you'll also find those who absolutely reject the notion that Egypt and its population is Arab and are focused on maintaining their native identity and strengthening it. So, you'll find a lot of conflicts coming from both sides trying to establish their dominance and/or find a common ground that mixes both.
      It isn't really hard to understand that the word "Arab" applies to North-Africans in the context of shared linguistics/culture/religion only, and not genetics or identity wise. But, politics never change, that's why you'll find these kinds of claims still prevelant in our time.

    I'm glad you mentioned it, and I'm proud of you, most of your answers were spot-on!
    For people who want a clarification about the western Sahara issue, read my reply to this comment

    • @videogames1926
      @videogames1926 3 роки тому +12

      First of all, western Sahara is a region(geographic place) not a state. You guessed it! it's called like that cuz it lies in the west of the Sahara desert.
      Secondly, what you want to refer to is the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, SADR for short, and funnily enough only four out of the 22 Arab countries recognize them, these countries are: Syria cuz it was communist, Algeria the creator of SADR/Polisario and the one's backing it up, Libya who was anti-Monarchy during Gaddafi era, and Mauritania that was forced to recognize them after they terrorized it. And this conflict is a relic of the cold war, all the countries that recognize the SADR are either communist, or anti-Morocco like Algeria, or poor countries that their recognitions were bought by Algerian petrodollar. They're currently 35, and they were once 80+, but most of those that were bought by Algerian regime turned on them and knew that this country (SADR) will not exist, and has no legitimacy.
      The African Union was once very weak and it's still weak, and at that time thanks to Algerian money, SADR got a seat in the AU, which drove Morocco to leave the AU!
      speaking of legitimacy, the Western Sahara region is Moroccan by history and Population, prior to the Spanish colonisation of the region in 1884, it has been Moroccan for almost a millennia, the same goes for Chinguit(Mauritania), Morocco couldn't do shit about losing Chinguit since it got its independence from France, so Morocco let it go and recognized it as an independent state. And Morocco was the one who opened the case at the UN of decolonization of the WS Area, and Morocco was the one who drove the Spanish out, not Mauritania and not Algeria. But Algeria holding a grudge towards Morocco after the Sand War that they started and lost, they started funding and changing the purpose of the Polisario front, as the polisario front's purpose was once to end the Spanish occupation and reunite with Morocco. So some of them started asking for independence. And these ones were vastly outnumbered which made Algeria send people from Southern Algeria and Mauritania and Niger to live there, promising them a new country!
      Still, 80% of people stayed and lived in the area controlled by Morocco and if we don't count the separatists who live in this area, the separatists will still be outnumbered!
      And btw the African Union is no longer a part in the conflict, and everything is now dependant on the UN resolution! And there might be a possibility to cast out the SADR from the AU in the near future.
      I hope this was a brief history of the matter, and gave you more information about this made-up conflict.

      in a dispute, there's only one who's right and one who's wrong! And by studying the history of the region you will definitely find that Morocco is the one who's right!
      And that's why I wrote you that clarification reply, so you have some information on the matter, and then you could waste your time on searching it if you want!
      It doesn't matter what others think cuz not everybody is well informed and not everybody is unbiased! The truth is everybody is seeking to keep their interests in the region! That's why Europeans who claim to support Morocco's rights (France as an example) don't take an action to recognize its sovereignty on WS though they know it's the right thing! They don't do it, cuz they wanna keep benefiting from the made-up dispute and they definitely don't wanna lose their interests in Algeria like getting Algerian gaz for cheap in return for supporting Algeria's illegitimate son, the SADR!
      The world has never spoken, the world is never on the same page! Some disputes are real and need reflection and others are straight-up made up! And everybody knows who's right but some can't take action because of their bias and interests!
