That shatter shade is hands down the worst shimmer I’ve ever used. Colourpop is a quarter of the price and has a perfect shimmer formula. Idk how melt has the AUDACITY to charge $58 for this
You are by far the most honest makeup reviewer I watch. I can't tell you how much I appreciate that. I work hard for my money and you have saved me so much but I've also spent alot to from your reviews. With that being said the items I have purchased from watching you I have loved. So thank you for that. Also still loving my brush set. I use all 3 everyday, and I received my tarte fake awake and I love it. I work in retail and it stayed on all day. Thanks doll.
Just wanted to throw in my 2 cents as I have this palette and *love* it and it's formula, I've just learnt that to get best performance out of Melt I have to use silicone based primers, not emulsive ones. I found Nyx Pigment Primer and the Milani Eye primer applied and then left to partially dry down before applying the shadows worked amazingly and I had no issues with any of the shades but the shimmer (glitter glue is your friend with that shade). I've noticed all the reviewers having trouble with this palette use super emulsive primers or concealers and the issues they had were like the ones I experienced with the muerte, radioactive and impulsive until I cracked this. Hope this helps!
Should you really have to do all of that for a $58 palette? I love melt but they are letting their customers down with all of these bad palettes. And yes I bought the millenial pinx palette. Why melt WHY????
I tried a primer like that today however it only helps with the shimmer... the mattes just still don't perform like they should, especially since these aren't pressed pigments.
Agreed, this is how I get the best of my Melt palettes. I know it's very specific to get good payoff and blending, but damn, Melt gets me with their colour stories so I wait for sales.
I have used three separate eye primers with this: Lorac, Urban Decay and Covergirl Lid Lock. I shouldn’t have to work this hard to get a $60 palette to work. Pass on this one.
I've had no troubles with any of these shadows (minus shatter that one requires more effort). I think it's how I apply my eyeshadow that helps (and ya ya people don't want to change how they do stuff to make it work and I TOTALLY get that but the colour stories melt comes out with are so unique I wouldn't mind making a minor switch if I had to). Ive been applying shades light to dark but I use pencil brushes to pat on the dark shades and use a small brush to light buff the edges not go over everything with a giant blending brush. I also sometimes start with the darkest shade and work outwards which also helps with patchiness problems (from any brand). So if you already have this palette then I suggest trying these if you are willing to make it work cuz it really is beautiful and I love every look I've done. I know that so many of the reviews have negative things to say so I basically only watch them for look inspiration and I really enjoyed the looks you created! Lol sorry for the novel.
I completely agree with your input here. It's too bad that everyone thinks that whatever technique they have can't change due to working with a pallet. In fact, there's been enough eye pigment/shadows out there that perform great if the technique is altered a bit. Such as working with smaller brushes. Melt in my opinion works best with smaller brushes, like u said in ur comment. I loved this pallet and had no issues. My lids are hooded so working with detail brushes have taught me so much! Sorry to add to ur novel but I think this pallet is misunderstood.
I loved all your looks. They always come out pretty & unique. I don't want to spend $60 on a pallete that has to have so much finessing to get it to work but u did make some pretty looks with it.
I'm waiting to see looks from the Smoke Sessions palette! It has been calling my name...and I know you will give us gorgeous looks plus total honesty!!!
I wonder if these are pigments meaning they work best packed rather than blended with a fluffy brush 🤔 I saw other people reviewing it and not liking it 🤷♀️ Looks like it doesn't work that well..
I got this palette yesterday and have played with it quite a few times already and I haven't had any issues (other than the shimmer but I like all matte looks and would mainly use a yellow shimmer in the inner corner). I pretty much never use a fluffy brush for dark shades I always use some kind a pencil brush and pat outwards to blend it. I do this for all my palettes and I never have issues with dark shades being patchy or anything.
I did a big Melt Haul ordered this one along with Millennial Pink, Gemini, Rust, and Vida. So it saddens me that you were having such a hard time cause I have yet to try any of them yet and I am new to Melt. My goal is to own them all and this was my first haul. More to come hopefully. But I Cant wait to play with them all. I think when I do I am going to try a setting spray with them and see how I do. Fingers Crossed! Thanks love for reviewing and honestly loved all the looks you did. 😁
I have serious buyer’s remorse with this palette. Melt shadows are so hit and miss. The Gemini and Muerte palettes were best, but Smoke Sessions and this one are real bummers. I shouldn’t have to work this hard to use a shadow. I had chunks broken out of one of my shades as well. I don’t think I will ever buy Melt products again. They are not worth the price. I will stick with other, more reliable indie brands.
The shimmer shade worked the best for me when I did a half cut crease, I first added the yellow matte shadow on top of my concealer, added the shimmer on top with my finger and then with a packing brush + setting spray. With that price point that should not be that hard, but it's possible to make it work somewhat nicely. I think the shimmer is pressed too hard, which is a shame since it is the only shimmer in the palette. Regardless, I got pleanty of compliments today at work for my eye look with this palette. I don't regret buying it at all. I love the colour scheme!
If you pack on the dark colours first over an eye primer n don’t blend it in windscreen wiper way but just pack it on n blend the edges n pop on more eye primer on the lid to get the sparkle to pop maybe I find primers really make a difference I’ve oily lids so have to use eye primer n it’s a game changer! x
This makes me so sad! I am in love with the color story but you are the second person I have heard say that the shadows are a bit difficult. I would love to see you play with the smoke sessions as well.
I'm sorry that you had so many difficulties with this palette. I know you were super excited for it. If you continue to have trouble, especially for $58, maybe you could get a replacement from Melt or Sephora? It sounds like you may have gotten a bad one. Thanks for saving me the $$ on it. That color story is beautiful. Maybe they will re-press or re-formulate the eyeshadows. I have 27 & Gemini and they work out pretty consistently on the eyes. Could you do a review on Smoke Sessions? I know it's an old palette, but I'm on the fence with it. I hear it's fragile, but beautiful. And I trust your reviews. You try to be kind & not freak out over nothing. Thanks for the reviy.
I find that certain shadows perform best over wet bases (like not setting concealer) and some work best over dry bases. Perhaps play with the palette again and set your eyes first to see if it works better that way.
If you look at the ingredients, anything post-Millenial Pinx, like this one, are a different formula. I do also think Melt shimmers generally need a super tacky base to get full payoff. As for Smoke Sessions I just got it and Black Widow is super hard to work with, you have to push your brush (not too hard) to pick up product and use a glitter primer to get full payoff.
i really think with some formulas you need a denser brush to pack and blend your colors... an extra fluffy brush isn't always what you need to use in your crease.
I think you're definitely in love with the idea of the palette more so than the actual palette. Bummer since the color scheme is pretty but woof. Not the best execution on their end.
Porcelain is il Maliage cruelty free? I was on website but could figure it out wanting a full coverage foundation but since I switched to cruelty free and vegan was wondering if they were and if not what’s your top Recommendation for one that is but some thing that’s totally full coverage
I miss the stacks!!! Omg you look beautiful in yellow eyeshadow Bridgette but you are always beautiful❣❣❣ I'm still mad at melt! I loved them soooo!!!!
Alright, after seeing you go thru all the 3 looks, they came out great with lashes. Yet, using mainly a bluffy brush with all that pigment shadows, was hard to see. If you would have used a smaller brush with the greens, that would have been a better performance. But that's just my opinion. I own this palette and it worked great! Of course to each their own, technique and worth spending on.
If you set the eye with a cream before adding the colour it blends normally. I understand the argument of you shouldn’t have to make it work for you but if you love the colour story enough it’s worth it only adding one extra colour
Thank you for saving me from buying this palette. I have the Nomad from Juvias Place and compared swatches with this one and the color story is very similar and you get a pretty shimmer you KNOW performs.
I had the same exact experience as you did. So unfortunate because the color story is everything. I also got smoke sessions and was ten times better. Give us some smoke sessions looks girl!
Everytime you say on the beginning you hope everyone's having an awesome day i always think of the mean girls movie lol hope your having an awesome time drinking awesome shooters and soaking up each others awesomeness lol everytime 💕💞
I just got the radioactive palette from them and I love their formula. I want the skull set they have and I'm totally willing to drop $120 on 2 palettes 😍
I had a similar experience with Melt's Rust Palette! I loved the color story and how it looked. I was super excited for it but the inconsistencies with the shades just ruined it for me. I am so sad about this. I am wondering what is going on with Melt Cosmetics formula.
Don’t pay full price on the rust palette. You will probably be disappointed and it’s not worth the price. I destashed mine to a friend, or else I would send it to you.
Sad! My pallet is wonderful! The hash gives me the brightest eyes! And DOES mute blunt. But! Blunt is truly a great transition color. And can be built up or sheer. Truly great
I’ve owned so so many palettes in my lifetime but this would have to be the most strangest palette I’ve ever seen someone trying to apply ... it has the most lovely colour story to it ... but for us over here to pay 87$ for the palette and postage of 23$ it’s a BIG no for me ... but can I just say look 2 and 3 did turn out stunning Bridgette. 💕🌺💕
I was gonna get this cause I love the story but I’ve seen way too many bad reviews, I’m gonna pass. Shouldn’t have to perform magic to get it to stick properly when a brand like colourpop is way less expensive and works with no issue
This is giving me subculture vibes i actually like that palette yes it takes a little more time and you should gradually stamp those shadows on and minimally blend those. I might actually like to have this palette
Melt shadows are so powdery and hard to work with. I have the Vide and Muerte palettes and there was a huge learning curve. It’s like they were made for makeup artists and not everyday people if that makes sense? Also hella fall out.
I passed on this palette because I already have Gemini and Rust, I'm only missing the yellowy chartreusey shades so this palette is tempting me to buy Vida. Glad I skipped this one.
If you are going to grab Vida, you should probably consider hurrying, as it is limited edition and Melt seems to be stubborn about not restocking either palette from Amor Eterno. Muerte is already gone everywhere I've seen (I BARELY managed to snag one during 420 restock) so Vida might not be far behind. Good luck!! ❤
I have Vida and four twenty and the lime green in Vida is a more neon green than the 2 light ones in here. I don't have problems with either palette I just prefer bright colours (opposed to the more brown tones in here) so I do like vida more but I have been loving this one too but between the 2 go for Vida especially if you have gemini already
You were being so nice. Maybe it looked better in person, but for $58 those shadows were terrible - and that was with you trying your hardest to make something work. The first look was so nice because of the ColourPop shadow. Those last green shades just reminded me of a swamp. I'm sorry it wasn't all that you wanted it to be!
after the whole meltdown with smoke obsession melt quality has been a hit and miss they make great muted grunde but when it comes to the pink palette it was such a miss. They should go back to the stack that the only thing that has been a continuous success.

Seriously, every look I do with Melt shadows I have to always finish it with another palette. 😔 Great colours but they SUCK. 😕 I hate to say it but unfortunately it’s true. 😒
So far, all the reviews make me say don’t waste your money. Also why the hell does melt think they’re so great they can charge $60 for a palette that doesn’t work? No ma’am

I have this palette, I like it personally buuuut hot jalapeno from elf is similar, no tea no shade, the shimmers complement 420 better than the gold

are you sure this isnt the twenty one pilots trench pallete? because omg i would 1000% believe you if you told me it was
Melt palettes are not worth the price that’s the brutal honest truth... Wow! That palette is definitely a shit show! Love how you try so hard to be positive!
You should return it
I love the colour story of this palette and it pains me to see how bad the formula is...
This palette seems to be a disaster. I'll stick with my Give Me Glow Juicy Olive and some singles from other indie brands to dupe this as best I can.
Haven’t watched this yet, but did you say $58.00? (That’s what the captioning said.) Girl, never complain about Jeffree’s pricing again.
I’ve been lusting over Gemini and rust. I heard pinx millennial was bad too 😢 sad to see this ones a bust from melt
Do you really think this is worth 58 dollar??
Its just way too much money they ask for these pallets and to get it to my country it will come over 100 dollar, that is a no go for me. Melt is just way too expensive for us dutchies.
