Solid work. A couple of notes from one of those Etsy leatherworker types.
    - What he's calling a Chicago Screw is generally called a Sam Browne Button.
    - For those of you asking what type of leather to buy, you want plain Vegetable Tan, probably 6 oz or heavier. If the belt is going to carry anything or have to hold in any gut (mine does) you're gonna want 8 oz. Based on the thickness, I'd wager that's what he used.
    - Leather dye gets everywhere and on everything. Use gloves and basically treat it like spray paint.
    - For riveting, I use a 2 1/2 lb maul from Harbor Freight as an anvil.
    - If you wanted to forego having 2 loops at the back, you can use one where the outside end would show, and then use another Sam Browne Button facing inward to hold the inner piece where it should be. The smaller belt would cover the screw head, and you can make it adjustable that way as well.

It was indeed 8oz veritable tan. Used red leather dye and black shoe polish to get the color.

The buckle came from a child’s belt from N’Ice Caps on Amazon. The rest of the parts came from my local leather store.

I think there is a Tendy Leather near me. I bought a belt on Ebay that doesn't fit kind of sucked and disappointed. so im looking for a good alternative.

Thanks dude. Awesome vid. Was wondering how I was going to make a belt. Not paying a lot for one when I can just make it. Niccccce. Question tho- do you hang your saber(s) on your belts too? I use 2, wondering how much of the design I may need to alter to allow weight. New to this, still searching for a way. Thanx dude, keep making videos, and I'll keep watching. 😊 love that you let your son "help", I did that too when mine were young ☺

It holds my heaviest saber just fine. Honestly, the weakest part of the design is the covertech clip itself.

I'm curious, do you have a source where you're purchasing leather cheap? I recently made some Jedi belts myself, and the belt blanks I purchased were much more expensive.

Oregon leather company. I think they do online sales, but I am local so I can just stop by.

Amazon! I got my 2" strip and 1/2" strip from them cheap! The leather is great.

.What type of leather do use, I've been looking at a lot of different types of leather just wondering which one would be best to get because I am completely new to this.

Question about Sabercore 3.0, are there any free sound fonts out there that I can download to use with it? I've googled it and only adverts for the soundboard come up

I am not entirely sure, but I believe they use NEC formatted sound fonts. You can find a few free ones around the forums or convert or make your own. Mostly though, the sound font industry is all about making you pay for fonts in this format. There are some defaults on the Naigon’s Electronic creations homepage.

Thanks :D I'm ordering my first saber soon and was hoping I'd be able to find free soundfonts to go with it just in case the three dark side fonts I'm getting with it get boring. Naigon has some on their site, thanks for the help.

What size chicago screws do you use?

    • @DarthCephalus

I prefer 6x8x8mm rounded head screws.

You may have more luck looking for Sam Browne Studs rather than Chicago Screws.
