Brennan is a fkn genius. It’s twice as enjoyable because his character work and humor is so convincing and yet I’m still staring at these 2 grown men bicker as ex lovers
Each of the PCs make me cry at some point but Lou is the only one who establishes his character SO COMPLETELY off the bat that I’ll cry with his first lines of dialogue
@@backtoids Well, in context it was more Liz had trouble adjusting to her new life with the Umbral Arcana being broken for her. She went from knowing the world as most people know it to being directly involved in cases with magical beings, and, in her words, like she was "in a fucking cartoon"
God I love ANY interactions Lou has with ANY Brennan NPC. It's not here but I think Kingston's "I WAS faithful! I AM faithful! I WOULD'VE CONTINUED TO BE faithful!" is one of my top lines from UC Season 1.
absolutely. Fabian talking with his dad, amathar and caramelinda, and gunnie in starstruck. All the players are amazing, but Lou and Brennan's dynamic are always ones I like.
@@jishnubhattacharya3387 Yeah, I think it's a result of the fact that, out of everyone there, I believe Brennan has known Lou the longest, as they were partners on an improv comedy team together for *several* years. They've had time to build up a tremendous amount of chemistry
I unfortunately thought someone had jeopardized the marriage instead of the union falling apart from the lifestyle. I; however, love, "She's a G****** CENTAUR!"
“she’s wanted to fuck you for years” made me wheeze especially in context of when Kingston painting time travelled to colonial times and met Misty/Rowan
3:09 LOU's ACTING IS IMPECCABLE. gosh he really did sound like a guy who loved Liz, and still loves her but they're apart so now they're just fucking acquaintances now and that YEAH was PERFECT
how could you have cut off the best line? "i AM faithful, i WAS faithful, I would have continued to be faithful" lou makes a man feel that one even with the coldest of hearts
I remember watching this episode for the first time and going "oh damn, these guys are super talented". Seriously, fantastic acting and a genuine masterclass in showing and not telling. I don't think we even know Liz exists before the first scene but we get so much information about that relationship from their argument.
my favourite bit is when Kingston sees Liz at the hospital and is like "Hello, Miss Harrera" like SUCH A GOOD CALLBACK to thaf first convo but also Lou is such a phenomenal actor, and bc we're seeing his face and the tone of his voice, it's clear that it's supposed to like make her laugh and OH MY GOD I WANT THEM TO ADOPT ME !!!!
Honestly, Lou is amazing at playing these flawed characters of his. With Kingston, we admire his altruism, but we also get to know it’s a double-edged sword. Liz divorced him because he always put himself last and everyone else first, and he passed up multiple opportunities for himself because he’s selfless to the point of detriment.
brennan and lou are so good that when i first found out what dnd was (fantasy high) i sat through almost over half an hour believing it was all scripted
If you follow Lou and Brennan's backgrounds, they have years of experience in stand-up, stage writing, TV script writing, improve, and philosophy degrees. They are beyond talented and specially qualified for this.
Dnd: where two grown men have a tender hospital bed conversation as ex husband and wife, where they realise that they still love each other.
and theres somehow incredible sexual undertones that are like exquisitely implemented
Brennan is a fkn genius. It’s twice as enjoyable because his character work and humor is so convincing and yet I’m still staring at these 2 grown men bicker as ex lovers
It's a good game!
Sorry sorry.
Do you mean herspital?

The *click "Fuck you" gets me every single time

Yes. Yes. FUCK YES.
Lou does gruff tenderness in a way that is truly unmatched
AGREED
Each of the PCs make me cry at some point but Lou is the only one who establishes his character SO COMPLETELY off the bat that I’ll cry with his first lines of dialogue
The way they act this out is just so realistic that it feels like it should be an actual scene from a movie or something.
I can't agree more. they're so fucking talented
The raw energy behind “She’s a GOD DAMN CENTAUR” legit shook me
it WAS a bit of a racial microagression on Liz's part
@@backtoids not super micro
@@backtoids Not micro, she straight up called her a horse
Brennan too

Why are they so good at playing a married couple
Brennan may be happily engaged but it’s actually a little known secret that he and Lou are married
They jumped into saying 'fuck you' back and forth SO quickly
And yet only Brennan can play Zac's partners.
I've read they were an improv duo for a while, makes perfect sense to me
@@MorganBondelid That'll do it. You develop a neural link with your partner and create some truly magical moments. Like the ones in this video!
liz's soft "you really wanna be here with me?" makes me wanna cry its so tender
i automatically put my hand over my heart when liz said that
“I was faithful! I am faithful! I would have continued to be faithful!”
That line fucking hurted me.
That line fucking came though my screen and stabbed me in the heart. Like I didn't ask for a personal attack Lou.
Lou is amazing at acting.
I love the disparity of
Lay together
Vs
Slammed down big style
Brennan and Lou as a married couple just hit different. Even in A Crown of Candy their moments are so raw and real and still so funny.
EXACTLY! Come for DnD, stay for Lou and Brennan’s heart-wrenching domestic spats.
"I live in fucking cartoon!" had me absolutely rolling
"Becazza youh I live in a fakin cah-toon!"

It's just too raw. Can't clip it without fucking WEEPING
They way Lou delivered the line "She's a God-damn Centaur!" is so epic. 😅
I think nothing says old couple more then 2 people having a full conversation while yelling over each other.
I need a season 3 where i get to watch these two and their adopted dragon child

Realizing how much of Liz is actually based around Izzy personality wise in TUC2

Speaking as the tiny wife of a larger man: unrealistic. We don't care if you wear the shirt on a regular basis. Nothing is sacred.
Gotta put the husband smell back on the shirt to refresh it.
“So, KiNgStOn…”
