Different animals have different personalities. Maybe its just a moody hamster. If it was a rescue it could also be that the animal was never handled at all just fed and watered.
I had a screaming hamster aswell. We got her when she was a baby and hated us invading her personal space (even when we were just giving her food). At first it was scary for us because we didn't want to get bitten, but in time we understood she was just a cranky ball of fur. She lived a long and happy life.
My hamster used to scream when he heard water spray. Even far away. And I got him when he was literally almost a newborn, never abused or treated badly

Learn ? I love a learning video ☺

Some hammies are more vocal than others, I feel that especially dwarf hamster tend to be more spicy! I used to have a Syrian hamster named Thorin, he was very tame but sometimes he would have a temper if he woke up too soon. He would sit down and make angry noises, but never flinch or bite.
She reminds me so much of my Sesame girl. When I first got her, she took longer than my other hammies to familiarise. By the end of the one week, I realised I needed to try other methods to let her recognise it’s me. Instead of just using treats to lure her, i used other techniques to help with familiarising. I put my hand a lot in the bin cage when she was a young ham, but not disturbing her or intruding her. Would gently go through her bedding. When she is eating from her bowl, my hand is in the bowl but absolutely still. These helped with two things: 1) she doesn’t see me as an intruder or a seed thief; 2) she recognises my scent. Eventually she became soooo comfortable with my hand in her bin cage that she stretches here and there around my hand 😂 i also always call her name and talk to her (sorry this may sound silly) but it really helps the ham to know you are in the same room as him/her. She got so familiar with her name that she comes running out from her hideouts when I call Sesame. ❤ she doesn’t like being handled playfully like Jalapeno but I think that’s just her maintaining her ladylikeness 😂 Sesame was my COVID pet and helped me through with depression during months long of lockdown. During lockdown, we were the world to each other. She has already crossed over the rainbow bridge 🌈 but every now and then, I miss her so much
This is my favorite noise hamsters make. They sound like little pencil sharpeners, haha. Mine are not babies anymore and so are chill and don't yell now, but when they were new they did, and I always thought it was so funny even though I knew it meant they were mad, haha. I love them so much.
A lot of people don't know hamsters are solitary in the wild (and nocturnal), so not every hamster is affectionate and cuddly with humans. Glad to see a channel that shows Jalapeno's spicy fear, and how you slowly acclimated her to your touch. Mooncake is so adorable and a cuddle bug, stop that, you're making me want a hamster again. I lucked out on my first hamster actually, he was from a pet store yet he wasn't aggressive at all. He was really quite casual, he never bit and would just run away if he didn't like what I was doing. Impressive, considering I was in fourth grade and didn't always handle him carefully. XD
Some robo/ dwarf hamsters are so feisty and that makes them literally adorable also miss Jalapeño, Mooncake, Taro and all your other hamsters are literally so adorable!!!!!

A quiet hamster is a happy hamster. You seem like a good hamster owner but for the first day I always recommend to just let them be in their new cage so they explore and get a bit used, then start approaching on day 2. Another thing I noticed is that you seem to often approach her from behind, this is a thing you should usually avoid with hamsters like her since they may easily think you're a predator and get scared. Always approach from the front. Either way, good luck and I hope she will be ok and happy.
The same thing happened to my dwarf hamster, but I’ve learned that I can’t get him back to normal no matter how much I tried. So I’d recommend leaving her alone and not trying to interact with her if she doesn’t like it. It just puts the hamster under a lot of stress which means she won’t be getting any better
