I usually don't leave comments but as a med student it is so nice to see how 'the end of the tunnel' really makes all the work worth it. Congrats on your first day of residency and please continue making videos, I'll be watching!
Hi Laureen🫶🏼 thank you so much for the sweet comment - I’m so happy you found this and it gave you hope as a med student! I was in your shoes just a year ago - there is a light at the end of the tunnel residency is SO much better imo🫶🏼 here to support in your journey thanks for joining along!!
this was so fun, hannah! Thank you for sharing! I’m a first year pathology resident. so proud seeing our cohort in all different specialities go out and serve patients with cheerful hearts 🥹 way to get through your first two months!
Hey Madison!! Wow thank you huge congrats to you too! We are doin it🫶🏼 totally agree - and so glad to connect in this space! Sending all my love and cheering you on during intern year🥰
Loving the content and your positivity! I was curious to know your take on the future of FM specialty with the increase in mid-levels entering the outpatient primary care world! Thanks in advance for the response
Hey Privanti! Thank you so much for following along and for the kind words🫶🏼 so glad you are enjoying! Thats absolutely something my husband and I have talked a lot about, and is a really important thing to consider both in family med, and other more primary care jobs too - psych comes to mind as well. Ultimately, there is SUCH a need for primary care, and I think midlevels can have a great role (I recently saw one at a minute clinic haha and she was AMAZING) I do think there will always be a “market” if you will for MD/DO’s due to the sheer amount of training and expertise they have. I see lots of FM doctors going into Direct Primary Care and such business models in the future as a great avenue to build your patient panel with lots of continuity - those doctors are in high demand and really can make a big impact on their patients. You can even specialize within family med - I plan to do Integrative and Lifestyle Medicine. There are so many options and we need more passionate, skilled future physicians in primary care! GREAT question, I hope this helps!
