Thanks Johnny for the ‘ride’ down memory lane of ‘pastures’ known while growing up ~ lovely to see Sandy Bay ~ grew up in Exmouth and commuted daily to Exeter for work, so Topsham is familiar (you’re lucky to be living in such a charming space) all roads on this trip were well travelled growing up there and during summer visits with my family from 🇺🇸 great views from the top level of the open deck bus ~ and recognizing every inch of the way! Wishing you continued successes on future adventures and letting us be a part of your journey…. Happy Travels and thank you!
Oh thank you. what a lovely comment and I'm so pleased that I was able to rekindle so many memories for you. Yes, I do feel lucky to live in Topsham. Best wishes from Devon to the USA ❤
Wow, the south-west of England sure is beautiful and inviting. This is now on my bucket list to visit before they shove me into that long pine box. Of course, I'll have to replace my little plastic bucket and ask my chooks to lay more eggs for fare purchases.
Yes, it is a beautiful little run. Next summer I will make a point of doing a few more of these tourist open toppers as there are many around the UK. Thanks so much for watching 👍
What a nice bonus, thanks Mr. Hoover. Wonderful coast and inland views there :) I believe the £2 bus fare cap has been extended to the end of 2024. How jolly to have the whole bus to yourself. I was once the only passenger on an Aurigny Guernsey-Alderney flight which was a surprise!
Yes. I'm sure my videos will be availing themselves of some more £2 adventures in the months to come! Gosh, you must have felt like some kind of royalty having the plane to yourself. Hope the inflight service was prompt 😂 Thanks for watching 👍
My Brother and Sister-in-law live in Exmouth, so I don't get to see them very often, last time I saw them was 2 years ago at my Mothers funeral, since then I have moved to Nottinghamshire
What a treat and what a beach!! We’re enjoying the bonus on Canadian Thanksgiving. It’s been a mixed bag of weather so nice to see this look back to a find summers day. Your home town looks lovely.
Thanks! And Happy Thanksgiving! Yes, I picked this one as I've been rained on so much during my Northern trips this month. More rain coming on Friday's video I'm sorry to say!
Yes you should. My advice is to take the train as the estuary views are so much better. And don't forget to have a pint at The Bridge 😁 Thanks for watching 👍
If you enjoy open top bus rides you may want to consider for next year getting to Bridport and enjoy the X52 and X50 along the Jurassic coast to Weymouth and onwards to Swanage or get over to Minehead for the Exmoor Explorer
Yes indeed. I didn't have time to have a ride on the X50 when I was down in Swanage this summer, so will definitely aim to tick off as many of these as I can next summer. There's also a cool one all round Land's End that has my name on it! Thanks for watching and commenting. I really appreciate it 👍
Looks fun . These routes have realty caught on . We have the Exmoor Coaster which goes from Minehead to Lynmouth, and i understand, onwards to Ilfracombe. , and allows you the luxury of a bus ride up to the Moor and a walk back down.
Interesting video. A very old friend was in The Marines and towards the end of his career the Corp were struggling for things for him to do. Guarding Straight Point range from vicious holidaymakers at weekends was one of them. Doubt as a civvy I should have been there but interesting times with his company car (Land Rover) and lots of ammunition that no-one seemed to be counting!
Whoa! That sounds like a lot of fun! - if slightly worrying that nobody was counting the ammunition🤦♂ Thanks so much for watching and sharing your memories 👍
Yes. As I say in the video, I'd done the trip before and it was actually with my daughter and her partner. Open top buses are such a treat for everyone... when the sun shines! Thanks for watching 👍

Love your vids. Hav’nt been to that part of the world for 60 years! Like you, I love a beer, even at 81. Cheers from Oz.
Thanks Jim. More beer will be had on Friday's video too. Although precious little sun.
Best wishes, as always, from Topsham
Great - very enjoyable. I'm loving the £2 bus fare cap as I go out and about.
Yes it's great. And of course, very cost effective for travel UA-camrs! 😉
Thanks for the midweek watch... back in the rain on Friday's vid 👍

Oh well. At least I gave you a little taste of Exmouth. Thanks for watching another. It is much appreciated 👍

Lovely video. I will be Exeter for 1.5 weeks from this Thursday, so will have to go back to Exmouth and Topsham and have a look around.
Yes you should. My advice is to take the train as the estuary views are so much better. And don't forget to have a pint at The Bridge 😁

@@JohnnyHooverTravels That sounds great. Thanks for the advice

Yes, that one sounds great and is def on my list for summer 24 👍
I live in Exeter so sometimes if the weather is nice me and my mum and my 2 younger brothers catch the 57 bus from Exeter Bus Station to Exmouth.
That sounds like great fun! Have you ridden the train from Exeter to Exmouth? That is also a great ride!
Thanks for watching 👍
At least the weather was good and warm. Very nice 👍
Thanks. I thought viewers deserved a sunny vid after so man rainy ones.
Thanks for watching another 👍

I was planning something similar for my hometown, with my neice and nephew. Primarily to see of the hedges. But it would be hard to match that route.

Lord Nelson, Exeter Inn, Denleys & home. What an end to a great day.👍👍
Haha. Yes indeed 😃
Have you ever been on a Hovercraft?
No I have not. I've seen other UA-camrs do it and, if I were to do a trip to the IoW, I would definitely make one of the crossings by hovercraft.
Tim traveller, right?
Yep 👍
