If only one could watch and listen to this without the bloody background music!

The intro music only last a few minutes then each clip has a little music, music hating seems to be very fashionable these days.

@@Kidraver555 There is “music” and there is “music.” That synthesizer-produced rapid heartbeat rhythm only makes it hard to hear what the speaker whom it is drowning out is saying. It is not meant to give pleasure as music. It’s put in for the cynical purpose of alerting the listener who might switch of: “You wanna watch this. It’s exciting!”

You miss the point. The film was shown in cinema as newsreel and always had same music.

These Newsreels are important to view. For one thing, it gives us perspective. Because our present circumstances are a view of our past “mistakes”. We are responsible for making sure we don’t repeat them.

6:50 The first moment that Mussolini and Hitler meet. 8:50 Then, we celebrate the arrival of the King Of Yugoslavia with fitting music where he was met by loving crowds and the warmth and affection of 74 year old Louie Bateau. Whereupon, they joyfully travelled barely 100 yards in a car which then received “a hail of lead into the heads of the two occupants,” killing them both. News writing, a lost art. 36:48 The winner of the motor car race in Monocco had an average speed of 56 miles per hour. “Nerves of steel.”

Fantastic historical films. Imagine if we had this in the early 18 hundreds . All the wars, sailing ships, explorations. Undiscovered lands. Thanks for the upload, I really enjoyed watching.

The year my parents were married (in June). They were from Liverpool and just might have been amongst the crowds witnessing the opening of the Mersey Tunnel. If so, they never mentioned it to me.

I know not whether to compliment you on your honesty or alternatively challenge the reasons for your ignorance.
But, with some effort I admit, I’ll go for the more objective if indifferent deduction ie that you are plainly not drawn by any interest
in history, let alone seeking out any truth as to the wilful misconduct of evil characteristics of human nature.
That aside, hopefully I may be wrong.

@@dennisroyhall121 well, I don't know what to tell ya buddy. It's sounding like you are going through quite a dilemma there. Let me help you out and just compliment me on my honesty; because what i said was true. I love history. but i can, with sheer honesty, say that no mater how long i may live or how much historic knowledge i might accumulate during my pathetic little existence on this earth. that there will be things - big & small - about history, that i will miss. I can't know everything - about everything that has ever happened. but i can pick and choose what i want to get from history and learn enough about it and fit as much as i can into my pea-sized brain and/or be indifferent, awed or bored with whatever i take from it despite what it may be trying to show or prove to me. but i may be wrong. You know what! Just think whatever you what about me that makes you feel better and move it on.

Sad to see further revisionist history practiced by the producers of this piece. Instead of allowing the 1934 commentator speak, a more modern unidentified commentator seeing facts from today's perspective.
Let us see the perspective from 1934 and let us judge for ourselves.
