    “3d” on 1969 Chix box refers to 3 “pennies” but pennies were abbreviated with the letter “d” for denarius, the Latin word for coin.

      Ooooh, awesome. Thanks for this info! Sounds like this was just an exclusively UK product then!

    Never seen an unopened box of 1970s cards 👀

      I think that in 20 years, any 1970s box is going to be amazingly rare and awesome. I hope I can pick up a ton of them before they shoot back up once the economy spikes and everyone looks to the hobby again for alternative investment ideas.

    What’s the x out mean?

    • @ASMRSports
      @ASMRSports  22 дні тому +3

      Back in the 1980s, Topps and their distributors would allow retailers to return product that didn't sell for a refund. When topps received these returns, they put black X's on the boxes to indicate that they were returns and then packed those boxes into new case boxes and resold them, often to large hobby outfits, for discounted pricing. So, there are lots of X-out boxes for certain products that were unpopular at time of release and the non X-out boxes for those items are much rarer and more valuable.

    Would love to see that military uniforms box opened up

      My brother in Christ, that is not a box you open up. Well, packs may be worth a little something, but cards inside are pretty worthless compared to the price of unopened. You can see some of the cards here: www.ebay.com/itm/395466138580?itmmeta=01J09QFYD8CHBWKQCWHCNFSS0P
