- I have had a lot of people ask me how the engine sounds inside the cabin, under normal driving it is pretty civil. It becomes much louder when you go wide open and high revs. The sound a 4age makes is raw, hearing it everyday is very satisfying. Enjoy!

@sushpants after installing ITBs, what’s the fuel consumption like? Of course it’s for race but I would just like to know what’s the MPG like.
I swapped in the 20v 4age which came standard with ITBs. Compared to the 4age bluetop that i removed, it uses less fuel both when driving it hard and just normal cruising.

I rebuilt the engine with brand new oem bearings and rings. Internals are stock but everything like gaskets and seals have been replaced.

thank you Tevin, yes i am using the original blacktop flywheel. I dont think i would go any lighter, it has good response without being hard to drive.
can you make a video regarding difference btw the 2zz and 4age their power and feel. I'm stuck btw this decision. I want to rebuild my old JDM ae100
Different displacement bro. 2zz with vvtl is like a vtec. Tune the lift, more power earlier
What throttle cable are you running on your setup?
I'm using the original throttle cable and i made my own mount (out of aluminum) to stop it from flopping around. I removed the front engine hook and used the bolt to from the engine hook to mount it.
Is the switch from 16v to 20v worthit? I'm stuck between modifying my 16v smallport or getting a 20v
There was a huge power jump from my original big port 16v when i swapped in the 20v. I also had the same debate, modifying or getting a 20v. The thing that i decided was i rather have a newer engine that is already built. I'm using mine as a daily driver, that also had a lot to do with the decision.

What header and exhaust are you running?
diltzm I'm currently using the original 20v blacktop headers with a 2.25 inch exhaust and magnaflow muffler.

Thats like unobtanium dude. TRD had a kit back in the day, but you can make your own. Ppl make them fron bike intakes on some engines so why not

I did actually, but I already have another car with a 2zz in it and personally i prefer the sound of the 4age to the 2zz. Though, the 2zz makes a lot more power.
sushpants I thought about putting a blacktop in my toyota matrix because it's been nearly impossible for me to find parts the correct parts for my 2zzge

love the sound but is it me or does anyone notice the speed barely get to 60mph and the motor scream? it sounds like it was going at 100 mph.
