Com toda certeza vai ser uma luta que sempre vai tá na ponta da minha língua na hora de indicar, mds que porradaria sincera, quando vai ter a segunda, pq o Walter meter um nocaute de bicuda na cabeça e não terem como roubar ele, rodtang é um ídolo e um monstro, mas claramente o Walter jogou o melhor jogo e tirou ele totalmente da zona de conforto, e não a certou uns golpes não, nunca vi alguém fazer algo parecido com o rodtang, o cara realmente assustou.

There's something to be said about having the momentum. It's hard to position yourself as the winner when you let your opponent have the initiative all fight. At some point, you've got to stop running and make your case. Goncalves is an incredibly talented fighter, no doubt! But, he tried to counterpunch the whole time. If you have two equally matched fighters, you have to give it to the guy who was pressing to win all match. No disrespect to Goncalves here at all, but I don't think you get a title for that performance.

Walter just fled most of the time, which meant that Rodtang had to be focused on moving forward and then Walter would place a few good hits…but nevertheless always evading. He held up against Rodtang like no other fighter though (except Haggerty of course), displaying amazing technique. Great stuff!
That's called out-fighting buddy. You stay outside your opponent's range, only get in his range when you want to throw leather and immediately go out again... That's fleeing in your book? Sure in-fighters are more exciting. But you can't score against a fighter because he's an out-fighter. Rodtang wants to be in the pocket. Walter knows this and tries to make that difficult for him while still producing enough output/volume. Walter won that fight by a very small margin in my book.

Goncalves should have been declared the winner of the fight. He was clearly hitting Rodtang more times than Rodtang was hitting him. I'm an Asian, but I really believe that the Latino should have been declared the winner.

Goncalves fights well. He strikes with varieties of Muay Thai which is incredible. He high kicked to the Rodtang's head many times. Low kicks and high kicks hit the target. Also couples of his beautiful reverse elbow. Rodtang just keeps going with power but lack of varieties of Muay Thai strikes. Rodtang complains about Goncalves not engaging, it's all about tactics. In my opinion Goncalves by decision.
That's what I call a good fight, it was pretty interesting to see a Muay Thai fighter with such a different style as Gonçalves, with a lot of movement and switching stances, which isn't very common in Muay Thai
it was extremely technical & i think rodtang was surprised by the high level of proficiency his opponent displayed; which he better if he's fighting rodtang lol
Here in Brazil, most Schools came from a guy called Nélio Naja who went to Thailand about 50 years ago to learn Muay Thai, 30 years ago we used to call It "Thai boxe" and It had a lot of Karate and Taekwondo, so the Brazilian Muay Thai is quite different, you can see another good example in Edson Barbosa.

Massss: pela postura sempre agressiva, pelo contato com o público (showman) e pelo seu legado, Rodtang é "campeão" 😅 Parabéns ao brasileiro pela luta impecável! Aqui deixo um resuminho do que rolou durante toda a luta pra quem quiser ir pulando. 1:01, 3:08 , 3:36 , 5:45 (preciso nem comentar quem defende e quem recebe tudo e depois ainda faz SHOWMAN), 6:49 , 8:06 (chute entra, não consegue chegar junto e depois chama pra porrada), 8:56 (consegue dar 1 knockdown e já faz mais show, a luta não acabou), e vamos dar uma pausa para mostrar mais showman e atitude antiespostiva: 11:20 (até o juiz tá incomodado) e 11:49. Voltando: 14:26 , 15:58 (final round e vemos quem tá com a cara amassada fazendo show e quem tá tranquilão concentrado na luta) E finalmente: 16:54 lado esquerdo vemos que nem acreditou que venceu, lado direito vemos a decepção de quem sabia que venceu a luta. De qualquer forma, boa luta né kkkk
Rodtang saiu com a cara inchada o brasileiro nem lesão teve. Foi garfado. 1,2 e 5 round o brasileiro ganhou. Acertou mais os golpes. O rond acertava os golpes na base conseguiu acertar só nos rounds 4 e 5 pq o brasileiro cansou. Mesmo assim pra foi uma garfada legal.

From a pure muay thai technique perspective Walter won that fight. Scoring was really off. I had him 3-2 or 4-1. Rotang did not show muay thai

1:01, 3:08 , 3:36 , 5:45 (preciso nem comentar quem defende e quem recebe tudo e depois ainda faz SHOWMAN), 6:49 , 8:06 (chute entra, não consegue chegar junto e depois chama pra porrada), 8:56 (consegue dar 1 knockdown e já faz mais show, a luta não acabou), e vamos dar uma pausa para mostrar mais showman e atitude antiespostiva: 11:20 (até o juiz tá incomodado) e 11:49.
Voltando: 14:26 , 15:58 (final round e vemos quem tá com a cara amassada fazendo show e quem tá tranquilão concentrado na luta)
E finalmente: 16:54 lado esquerdo vemos que nem acreditou que venceu, lado direito vemos a decepção de quem sabia que venceu a luta.

I feel like there's a lot of bias towards Rodtang because of his past. This definitely wasn't going in his favor. Goncalves is a much smarter fighter.
