Great demo, but I would have liked you to explain the importance of cleaning the derma roller after each use for those who are new to derma rolling. It is so very important to soak the derma roller in 70% alcohol for several minutes after each use and then let air dry completely before putting it back in its container. Also replacing your derma roller regularly as the needles get blunt over time and can cause more damage than benefits to the skin. Another important point is the type of serum you use. I know certain vitamin C serums have small particles that are not completely dissolved and these can get 'trapped' in the tiny holes made by the needles and can cause tiny bumps. Just some extra info for those new to derma rolling. It's a great skin care tool but should be used correctly and responsibly to get the benefits.

I've heard of what you are referring to here from the vitamin C as well. Its called foreign body granulomas. From what I understand you can get this from microneedling with longer needles (not the smaller. 25 recommended in this video) that extend to the deeper layer of skin and then applying vitamin C while those channels are still open. Granulomas make bumps extending to skin's surface, and once you have them they cannot be reversed. I'm no expert, but wanted to put that out there and people can look it up and make an educated decision if they are considering using the longer needles with vit C serum. I believe it is the. 5 and longer, but I encourage each to do their own research.

Hi beautiful lady - I've been using the derma roller before I saw this video; while I'm doing it right there are some differences in my application I have found a big difference in the texture, glow and bounciness - my cheekbones seem to just pop out, and I thought I lost them!!!. The neck area firms up almost instantly and my little double chin goes away when I use it. I wasn't aware we could use it as often as you recommend. I normally am not this cautious so now I'm going all in. Merci beaucoup. Thanks. Merry Xmas and Happy New 2022 Year!!!!!!!

I bought a rose quartz crystal roller. It has a separate little round stone for your eyes. You can use it with the battery. It is beautiful, soothing and uplifting, it does not puncture the skin and I wouldn't use anything that did. It can cause infection and damage. I would go to professional once every 3 months for this deep treatment.

    Good Morning 🌞
I love everything you do, but as a holistic Master esthetician of almost 4 decades, I am going to be 56 and I have never had a needle it procedure touch my face. please be careful with micro needling. I do not recommend it. We see a lot of issues in our 3 salons with this being done at home. We have natural fungus and bacteria always on our skin and it is when we leave an opening for it that it can create serious issues. There are so many other things that create collagen and are less invasive.
Admire you and said with love. 🍑🙌🏻🧡Lisa

Well the important note she left out is regularing cleaning and sterilizing the roller - then putting the roller in its sealed container so that debris and bacteria don't get on it. I've used one for 3 years with no issue and great results.

What she's doing in this video is very gentle cosmetic derma rolling. Which you can also do with the Dr. Pen but the Dr. Pen is also capable of doing the deeper Medical micro-needling. You would never use a Retin-A or vitamin C serum with the medical micro-needling though. You only use pure hyaluronic acid for slip while micro-needling and nothing after until the next day because you have open such deep channels in your face. Hope this helps.

Really? This is so helpful to know bc I want those pesky wrinkles to vanish, Ive really noticed them everywhere on my face. What serum is best with the .5 roller? Does it hurt more?

@@disneygirljamie9974 I wouldn't use anything before but after when channels on skin are open a copper peptide serum is good, any peptide, don't use retinol or acids though! The 0.5 doesn't hurt per se just feels pinchy.I have a pretty good tolerance,at first it might feel more pinchy, not after a few times, you get used to the feeling.

I don't think much attention has been paid to the handling, care and cleaning of the roller. It's v important.

    • @obbridget

Agreed! I'm curious how to properly clean the roller if using this method where she's rolling OVER serum. I was taught to roll on freshly cleaned skin & then apply serum, & simply cleanse the roller by rinsing & a quick soak in rubbing alcohol. But I feel like that might not be enough to clean/sanitize it if it's being used to roll over product 🤔
