While I'm happy that these cosmetics are military themed and less of the cringe that most FPS games have, I'm just sad that a lot of them will just end up being in a paywall. Also, events like this are perfect for the Operations game mode tbh.
2042 desperately needs Operations. Would be nice to expand on 2042 lore. The creative team did a great job at world building and DICE is barely doing anything with it.

@@Warfaremachine0095 I agree, since 2042 doesn't have a single player campaign, having operations play out like a war campaign with narrative story dialog (like BF1) would've been a nice alternative to immerse players into the lore of the maps of 2042 and the battles happening in them that you are taking part in. It properly sets up the factions, tells you why this area is important to capture, the benefits it'll provide for your army, the consequences if it falls into enemy hands, stuff like that.
The maps in this game are the biggest in the series to contain the massive 128-player servers. So to have the same level of quality as other battlefield maps they need more time to make them.

The size of the base maps is most likely linked to that fact alone seeing as for a Tarkov style game mode you want the maps to be big enough that squads can actually travel across them rather than run 100 feet and be on top of every other squad in the lobby.

Yes. It has really become a fun, genuinely good MP game. Love the gameplay, and maps like Nordvik is where I really get my battlefield fix. The fighting inside those cubes is ridiculous fun
Being completely honest, this game has improved massively within the past few updates and it is genuinely a lot of fun now. Great work dice! I am excited to see what is up next for us in the future!

I would love to see ACTUAL night maps. Just like they had in the BF4 night operation dlc. A map where the sky isn't bright with dark clouds and where the moon doesn't illuminate the map to look like it's daytime. This game has flashlights and there's no point ever using one. The only usage for them that was actually fun idea and made sense was in the tunnel in orbital where you could shoot the lights off. People complained about not seeing in the tunnel (Never heard of flashlights?) and they made the lights unbreakable... and thus removing the only purpose the flashlights had.
In my opinion, since this is BASICALLY a Christmas Event, you should've done this, but added Snow all over the Map (but only for the Event Playlist Version of the Map) that way it would feel a bit newer and more Festive.
Yeah, especially considering the fact that the map is based in Northern Sweden. There are only a few months per year where that part of the country isn't completely covered in snow.
The game has gotten a lot more grittier recently tbh. Maps are differently color graded, the characters look war-torn and less pristine, the soundtracks for post-launch content sound more what you'd expect from DICE. They're continuously taking steps in the right direction, albeit a bit too slowly.
After one year of not playing 2042 I just got back in and it's pretty fun now compared to when it launched. Playing on the go on steam deck is awesome.
Are y'all changing the weather for the map, the dark cloudy looks is pretty cool looking. I love the bright sunshiny style the map has, but since 2042 kinda was showcased for the weather effects having the past 3 maps lack weather effects kinda sucks

Idk, BF4 was significantly worse than BF3 for map design, though. Also BF1 and BFV are still playable on current gen hardware... it doesn't really make sense for them to add it in when everyone can just buy those games right now and play them. Hopefully we get more BF2, BFBC2, and BF3 maps as they were the peak of the franchise.

Ripple Effect isn’t even working on this game lol. They are responsible for Portal and if you aren’t aware it has gotten no content other then a few weapons and vehicles. They aren’t even responsible for fixing bugs. Ripple Effect is working on a new Battlefield experience which isn’t a main game but is in the Battlefield universe
128 breakthrough is about to be INSANE. Picked the game up a couple weeks back for $10. Love it. Glad I waited until EA started to get their heads straight. Hope others give the game another chance bc it's definitely a lot of fun.

128 breakthrough is about to be INSANE. Picked the game up a couple weeks back for $10. Love it. Glad I waited until EA started to get their heads straight. Hope others give the game another chance bc it's definitely a lot of fun.

Why do they always make things timed now? It just deflates my excitement. Have everything stay and in the end you have a robust game with an experience for everyone.

BF4 is a massive upgrade over BF3.
They do on portal, unless ur trying to say an actual game like WW3 game with the battlefield twist would be perfect
