LYRICS:
Sister hear me out we’re running out of time
Don’t forget that silence never stopped a crime
Ignorance is like a fire, hard to stop
Can’t you hear the world is calling now to wake us up
We’re in a valley imprisoned by our fear of life
And the mountains that surround us always seemed too high
But we’re climbing up now, step by step to reach the top
Can’t you hear the world is calling now to wake us up
It’s getting closer, can you hear the buzz?
Fall into this chorus, there’s no stopping us
Wake up to the beat of the drum
Sister hear me out we’re running out of time
Take my hand I’ll lead you through this field of mines
Oh involuntary soldier let your weapon drop
Can’t you hear the world is calling now to wake us up
ABOUT:
LÅNGBACKA/BÅDAGÅRD (L/B) is the collaboration of Swedish singers, composers and multi musicians Maja Långbacka and Matilda Bådagård.
Sprung from different angles of the music scene (Långbacka from traditional folk music and Bådagård from jazz and pop), they have explored a new sound where they let all of their influences and experiences delicately brew together in a melting pot. The result is a self-composed, self-produced studio album where all of the composers' musical creativity comes to show.
Strings, with a clear Scandinavian folk sound, is the foundation to most of the arrangements, but the strongest aspect of the Långbacka/Bådagård sound is their unique voices, melting together as one. Långbacka/Bådagård take their Scandinavian musical heritage and create music without borders, that can resonate with listeners all around the world.
L/B performed their debut single Wake us up at the #metoo rally in Stockholm, in January 2018.
