She is just as precious now as back when she was a little girl. Seeing her speak back on the days of her as a child actor you then see the little girl come out :) Margaret O'Brien thank you precious woman for sharing with us your work, talents and desire in film. God Bless
Lovely interview. Anyone who wants to be completely blown away by Margaret O'Brien's acting try to find "Journey for Margaret". I believe it was made in 1942. She plays a little girl from England who is an orphan and carries an unexploded ordinance, which she will not relinquish to anyone. O'Brien should have won an oscar for that film. She was so little and she carried the entire film. I, too, am a fan of Little Women and can deal with the fact that in the book Beth is not the youngest. Amy is. I also love Secret Garden. We never outgrow these books. The Unfinished dance is on UA-cam and she is quite the ballet dancer. Also, Our Vines Have Tender Grapes with the great Edward G Robinson and cutie pie Butch Jenkins Jr. A lovely film.
That was a lovely interview, although I wished Ms. Greer would let Margaret finish answering a question before asking another one! But then, it's difficult to shut up sometimes when one is excited to chat with a favorite personality.
AH !! MARGARET O' BRIEN THE MOST LOVABLE CHILD STAR OF HOLLYWOOD. SHE WAS I BELIEVE SUPPORTED BY BOTH HER PARENTS AND PROTECTIVE TOO THEY WERE SPANISH AND WERE VERY FRIENDLY WITH "THE CASINOS" RITA HAYWORTH'S PARENTS.. FROM U.K.
With all due respect, she's full of it. She's lying through her teeth. When she was no longer "cute" Hollywood was no longer interested in her. Also, Mary Astor was not very nice to Judy during the shooting of Meet Me In St. Louis. Because, she wasn't that same sweet little girl that she was when they worked together in the movie Listen Darling. The M.G.M. effect was starting to take hold.
She was almost 74 when this interview took place. She is a lovely lady, regardless of how you think she looks. Save criticism for people who actually deserve it.
My mother loved Margaret O' Brien. ....Little Women's Beth. Many more. Said she was not only beautuful child. Very sweet too..
Just watched Margaret 0' Brian in little women she was perfect for the part of Beth March

She's the only one who can play Beth March and make me cry
Omg remember her playing both marsh so well. Cried.. love Margaret
I think she is extremely intelligent. Watching her play a French girl in Jane Eyre shows her talent and incredible smarts.

If she was 74 then it would have been 2011.

She persevered. Mary Astor was not the lead that's why she may have been a bitch.
SO WHEN WAS THIS TAPED??? SHE REALLY DID NOT AGE WELL...
