My wife and I moved from Minnesota to Colorado. We own 7.25 acres in the Sangre De Cristo mountains, and our house sits on 1.2 acres in the San Juan mountains. The lot next to our home came up for sale so we jumped on it before a builder could grab it and put up a generic builder grade eyesore. Keep up the great work and keep buying land when possible. I wish more young people would start building a legacy.

Land next to you is not being made anymore! You get one chance $26.000 for piece of mind is worth it. A good neighbor is priceless a bad one is worth 4 times what you payed.
Couldn’t have put it better myself. My 1st home 3 of my 4 neighbors sucked hard. Always in my business and getting involved in everything. My next home was on 3.5 heavily wooded acres with 25 behind me that could never be built on. Sadly we had to move out of state 10 years later and now I have 5 acres with about double that between most of my neighbors. It’s just very open and very few trees. I could never go back to a 100x80 lot again, it feels like I’m drowning.

Sweet! Just don't make the mistake and make it small. I pour concrete floors in pole barns and garages and almost everybody says they wish they went alil bigger!
Gathering information for when it’s my time to build. What’s the most common size that people got and wish they upgraded? And what’s the upgraded size you’d recommend. If that question makes any sense
@Isaiah Kane prob built more 2 door barns/shops n garages ..For example 24 x 3o ..you should go 3o x 4o ..just been my experience with ppl.

I bought acreage behind us with shop and ended up with 2 for the shop and additional 5 around us. Got lucky!!! Great job... enjoy it!!!

In many states Areas that were once rural farm land are now over crowded messes with massive condo, townhome, and housing developments being thrown in. The area of WV I moved to is being killed by these types of developments. They look like ant colonies cut into the side of a hill or mountain. It’s sad and frustrating.

Wisconsin has a bunch of great shops. Herman’s, Competition Cycle, Millennium, Motofied. The list goes on and on.

if that 0.8acres was 26k thats cheap. in the uk that would probably be around 70k to 100k

Sorry to hear about the missing parts but to me it sounds like you have been scammed. It’s happened to me before and it sucks. I would report him to what ever site you purchased them from and hopefully you have some recourse.
You don't send $1000 to someone you've never heard of. Two months ago? You could have kissed that about the same time you sprayed a few drops of wd40 in the cylinders and tried to turn it over 10 seconds later with your hand. "oops its locked up, i guess ill give it away". I bet you did get 50 people wanting it!

I bet real estate people would just tell any neighbours that someone is planning to build there just to try to sell it. It was probably a lie, and one that works well.

Yeah it was really high, but it's pretty much in town so that's why it's higher.
Where are you at? Some places that would be well over $60-$100,000. The 5 acre lot down the road from me just sold for $180,000 in January here in the panhandle of West Virginia.
.25 lot in our subdivision in Illinois. Is over 60k
In Virginia land here is high like 55k an acre

Good for you guys on your purchase of the property! Property is the best investment one can make, it will always continue to increase in value. Check with your county tax assessor's office on your property tax options. Attaching to your existing property for tax reasons (if planning to sell down the road possibly) , combining it to your property for one property tax should be less expensive, if you plan to keep it.

I think that was a very good deal for all that land plus you and Vinnie have been busy getting rid of the snowmobile and fixing the YAMAHA YFZ 450 BUT I STILL THINK VINNIE has got more torque than all of those QUADS

No neighbors are the best neighbors.That way you don’t have to worry about people complaining.
Move them just before spring so the snow melt can help water the roots! Helps the growth and makes the roots a lot stronger so they grow down and not towards each other!
Joe, Have you ever thought about finding a local teen and giving them an opportunity to learn about small engines and tools. Maybe a kid with a single mother who wouldn't otherwise have the opportunity to learn this stuff or maybe a kid whos dad chose office/business instead of learning tools and skills. I'd love to see you find a buddy to work on stuff with and then maybe go trail riding or fishing excursions or whatever, you could be a massively positive influence in a young persons life. The world needs people like you Joe.
I couldn't agree more! I've actually done this myself with a few different teens. I'm a professional bladesmith and blacksmith and it's a very useful trade to learn. If nothing else it gives them another option aside from going out and getting into trouble with their friends. Our youth are our future and our responsibility that they have what's required to make it and prosper.
@@prophez23 I take kids hiking canoeing or fishing and other outdoors activities. It's very rewarding, costs me almost nothing, and changes lives. Kids these days need some guidance and us adults can use the extra set of hands more often then not. Joes a great guy, knows a lot of stuff and he's getting stable owns land, has a shop. I'd love to be young and follow a guy like Joe around learning stuff and playing with cool toys building skills and confidence.

That Panther... I ran one of them for a few years in Colorado. That thing was primative but if I got stuck, lift it and move it over n go! Then came the Polaris... That hauled ass but getting stuck... Oh my, could that be a chore.

I also had a ticking noise frome my scrambler only that came frome the flywheel and starter connection cuz the starter would never fully disengage frome the flywheel

As old W.C.Fields once said,there's a sucker born every second... but then again I've built custom high end homes on as small as a half acre that the owners spent 700k to 1.9 million for in Destin Florida area... But it wasn't a snow area,has wonderful mild winters,and amazing sunsets and such..

I remember buying them cats when they were new we thought we had the bad ass sleds back then. I’m 63 now and still riding but new now. You never get tired of the toys even now at my age I still think like I was 29 years old and love all the toys. I just buy new stuff now because if I break down I’m too old to be walking out of the woods 10 miles.
so was it 26k for the land or 26k for the yfz 450......because thats steep if its the quad..... your a busy guy with all the snow mobiles. i would have thought they were hard to shift
