For me, Herbert Schuch is one of those truly great pianists that appear only from time to time. He brings that special "soul" to the table that always has been the hallmark of great musicians.
Moreover, I don't remember such a beautiful rendition of this early Beethoven concert (in my opinion reminiscent in many ways of Mozart) since Melvyn Tan and Roger Norrington's wonderful performance. Hopefully, Herbert Schuch has the good luck to get his breakthrough so that we can enjoy his recordings!
