Could you please make a video, just about 'how and where' you mount the onboard cameras ? and which little cameras you use. is it just the Insta360 GO ? cheers
I pretty much only use the insta360 go cameras when I need small light weight cameras to place on an object not made to accept a camera. I mount them all with double sided tape.
That is a Very nice detailed plane at a great price. Knowing that I can repair it if needed is a real plus. Now you have given me the confidence to purchase one I just hope one day I can make a video as entertaining as you. I could have watched this for hours the camera views was outstanding. You got to make a RC movie. 🍿. Thanks Captain
You've arrived Captain. You flew the Cirrus very scale and skilled. Even the pilot looks like you from behind. I crashed my older version of this on first flight a few years aback. Glued it back.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 I use a lot of Gorilla Glue WHITE foaming glue to fix foam-to-foam repairs. Hot wet rags to expand the foam also helps when foam is compressed. I microwave the wet rags, place them on the foam and then stretch the piece after a few applications of the hot rags. The glue expands 3 to 4 times its volume and fills in gaps. A razor and sanding help smooth over any areas needing it.
Navigation Lights (vs indicator lights) and Spinner (not cone) - White forward facing lights are Landing Lights (usually) - proper terms - always enjoy your videos - including this one
Hey Cap I've said it before and I'll say it again " I love the drones but I love when you review planes and cars too." This thing is a beauty and so scale detailed. It looks like it should be way more expensive. What is a decent but affordable controller to get? On 4S that thing really has some power too. I loved the different camera placements too. Especially the passenger shot behind the pilot.
Watching Just Got Here's take on this lil gem and saw yours under. Like how you present and describe the product. Your passion makes it seem like you're just a big kid loving life. Good stuff. Fly safe. Keepum coming. Cheers
Nice flights! The real Cirrus series of planes that this is modeled after have one thing that they are famous for, a parachute. It means that in an emergency the pilot can trigger the parachute to save the occupants, and the plane. So although it is highly detailed with the navigation lights and antennae and such, it will be missing that parachute...probably a good thing, too considering it is normally launched from the plane by a rocket, literally!
Excellent like always Steve!! Like the big plane, so smooth to flight and the landing couldn't be better, im after my next drone, but after that, this plane gonna be in the list, reasonable price for what you get. Don't stop those reviews my friend you're the best!! Congrats!!
Nice camera work. I like how you got the interior view along with the belly camera. Good use of the DJI FPV as the chase drone. I own a DJI FPJ (bought on a Captain Drone review) and I expect the FPV could outlast the flight time of the SR22 even on the largest battery. I may just get a SR22 seeing how DJI is in no hurry to sell single copies of the Avata any time soon. As always excellent review Captain!
I love that scale and detail. I own and fly GPS drones, but I'm not sure I possess 50% ability to fly an RC plane. Really fancy the inside video shots as well. Great upload Captain.
I really like this one ! My first plane was the Timber, and then a UMX Timber. This may be on my wish list. I'm waiting to see what's going to happen with the DJI Avata release. There is never a shortage of places to spend ones money ! lol...I was glad to see you fly the SR22T. ;-)
Eachine E017 is very popular for the price. Did you read all the comments below the video... It is enjoyed by many. There is nothing better for the price.
Not sure. A receiver for an RC PLANE needs to have inputs for the various channels, each channel controls a SERVO on the plane (flaps, rudder, elevater, etc)
Depends on battery size used. If you use the small 2200 mAh battery then it is wise to land at 5mins and avoid an emergency landing at 7 mins. A larger battery gives longer flight times.
Great video, as always. Would you recommend this over a HobbyZone RC Airplane Carbon Cub S 2 for a first time RC Plane pilot? Or, are both an excellent choice?
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 ..... Ohh.. okay... I'm kind of afraid to use it and lose the camera in the middle of the flight... but if you never have a problem... I think I will try that. Thank you.... 👌🇨🇦

Answers: It has Safe & AS3X which both help the plane to fly smooth and perfect for beginners. Range, like any RC product is all up to you and the radio in your hands and the receiver in your plane. Planes don’t worry about range because you NEVER fly them out of eyesight. Yes, if you wish to use ELRS you can, although not many ever would.
Hi captain😅. What are the size of wheels please ? Compatible with midi size grass ? What about front wheel. Metal gears ? Strong enough or wick ? Thks for reading. JPhilippe.
Steve, my Captain, my Captain! GREAT review on a GREAT airplane. I've been checked out on the real ones, and this is the more affordable avenue to stroll down! lol And yet again, I will be purchasing this ONLY because of your recommendations! Thank you for being such a positive influence in my life! I'd love to see you do a video review of the E-flite RC Airplane Draco 2.0m if you ever get the chance. Much love and respect!~
That would be such a great review!! A friend of mine in Port Aransas recently bought it but hasn’t flown it yet due to weather. Coastal cities tend to get lots of crazy wind and weather. The Draco looks very capable and from what I’ve heard, Mike Patey was involved with the RC version. Such a cool airplane!
Ok, because of your experience I am after your opinion on a matter. Dji came out with their avata. You haven’t done a review yet, I realize that. But once you do have some time with one I would like your opinion on whether to get the avata or the dji fpv. I am a beginner camera drone, I have a SE. i want to try out FPV. I think I would enjoy the adrenaline rush from the feeling of being in the cockpit while at the same time getting some really cool videos to share with family and friends. I am not a professional photographer, I just enjoy videoing fishing, hunting and outdoors on family trips. I would appreciate your help, thank you.
First, the AVATA is WAY OVERPRICED and unaffordable for most when you factor in the 3 batteries, goggles, drone, etc. The DJI FPV is cheaper. However the DJI FPV is BIG and HEAVY and scary as hell for a newbie. The AVATA is aimed at MAVIC pilots and total beginners, so that is the one to get if you can afford it.
I notice that you often use the DJI FPV for these chase jobs or search and rescue type missions. I thought given you have so many drones you might use something else. Is it your favourite go to drone? Also cool music- especially the chase scene
It is my fav HYBRID drone. No other FPV drone on the planet allows me to switch from Acro Mode to a beginner style GPS fully stabilized drone where you can take your hands off the joysticks. So instead of bringing a beginner GPS camera drone & an FPV drone to shoot footage, I have one drone that does both.
I have this plane, it was my first plane and I learned to fly on it..... actually crashed it tuesday afternoon after so many successful flights. Sadly mine didn't come out unscathed and I ended up with a hefty repair bill.
I enjoyed the chase scene footage with your drone following the RC Plane. Also liked all the film footage from inside the RC plane looking out as if riding in the RC plane. Very nice! Thanks! P.S. Makes me wish I had a REAL full size Cirrus SR22 to fly IN.
One of the best videos I've seen from you so far! Rapid fire explanation of what everything is and does and then some great flying shots! And what a gorgeous plane! I was wondering why you didn't use the flaps on take off and landing though. But then, it didn't seem to need it, certainly not on the take off run. All in all, very nice, I'm tempted to get one of these. Waiting for a flysky fs radio to be delivered, surely that would work with this model?
In my very short time flying RC Planes, I have quickly figured out that FLAPS on takeoff are only required when there is No Wind coming at you and the runway is short. Same is true for landing. If landing a plane that is moving at high speed, then landing flaps act like a brake to slow things down, especially when the runway is short and there is no wind. When there is wind, simply landing into the wind provides for a smooth landing without flaps.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 I'll take your word for it. With real planes you always take off and land with flaps but of course the power/weight ratio is totally different on a model, plus you're not actually feeling it so what you say makes sense. Models are also more twitchy in wind. i'm fairly new to RC flying but have some experience from my microlight pilot training. Unfortunately I crashed on a solo landing before I got my licence (UK) and I stopped flying, may get back to it one day but for now I'm happy to learn about flight with my feet on the ground! ;) (ps I walked away from the crash unhurt, a miracle, you should have seen my plane! )
Well done Captain!; only comment is ..........(due to the in Cabin footage!!) you have to give your Pilot a name!! ; I was going to suggest: "Mr Owley" !!!; BTW, what was the Music you were using for this Clip?
For music in this vid, 3 segments were used, but please note that I am a musician so I chop up the segments to match the vid (I.e., original tunes may not be structured the same).
Those in the RC hobby already have a radio, batteries and battery charger. Newbies with nothing should look to an RTF RC plane kit like the Hobbyzone Aeroscout or FMS Ranger.
