I can tell when someone is mixed. but you look 100% white to me.

I never met anyone with one half black parent and one white parent. I have seen the reverse. There was this guy at my job i assumed he was half and half but one of his parents was half white and the other was black meaning it was the grandparent that was white. Don't recall seeing the opposite in real life but did know this asain who dad was half black and half Asian. I did'nt realize he was even part black. Turn out his grandfather was black came to hawiia married an asain woman then his dad obvously did the same.

I know how she feels. Almost all my friends are either, mixed, black or some type of race (Hispanic, Hebrew, Italian, etc.). At first they think I’m white but then when they meet my parents they still find it hard to accept that I’m mixed. Eventually they accept it but it still tears me up inside knowing that they assume I’m white.

Definitely relate and understand what you're talking about. My mom is black and my dad is white. For the most part I look white, and most white people just assume I'm only white too. But then most people of color can tell right away that I'm not fully white. It's also really weird comparing the reactions me and my sisters get, because we all look really similar to each other, yet get completely different reactions from people. One of them, a lot of people (both white and POC) think she's full native american, and then my other sister (both white and POC) think she's full white. And then I get a combination of either white (from white people) or Hispanic or Middle Eastern (from POC).

I'm a black woman. My first thought oh she is black. I have family members that are very fair like you and others that are chocolate like Tyrese. Not discrediting any of your other ethnicities, but our genes are strong. They usually appear regardless of the color of some ones skin. I just think that black people are best at recognizing our own physical attributes. Regardless of appearance, people are people. While you can love physical attributes about them, it's more important you love people for who they are. Stay true to yourself. If some one has an problem with it, it's their problem. Just keep being you! 😉

Something about your undertones in your skin let me know you are mixed. You are almost the same skintone as my sister, she jus has more prominent African features. When I hear your voice I can tell you might be mixed with black. Some people won't understand that and some will. But I can see why people who have not been around many mixed people would think you are just white alone. People would never think that I am also French and Native American because I am brown skin with kinky hair.

I grown up having to act white, bc people told me I was white so I believe it, but I also felt betrayed not being included, I understand I look white but my black side feels betrayed and not included. I want to unbrace my black side but others get to me, saying I'm not black and that I need to stop being dumb and to not be delusional, it gives me anxiety and stress. My skin looks white but my hair is a different story. Sometimes I just don't want to look white anymore and I hate it, other times I like it. I have mixed people problems and they do hurt me mentally and physically 💔😔

Yes, you do look almost fully caucasian and could pass as a white latina, but that's not a bad thing. We are all different people and beautiful in our own ways. You also know who you are and what your true roots are. Just be happy being the way you are.
It has been interesting hearing your thoughts and reading the many comments on your video. I love hearing different perspectives and opinions. Also, as a woman of mixed ethnicity myself it is great to see someone openly embrace all sides of their cultural background-thank you for doing that. Some assume I'm just white because I'm very pale while others have guessed or can tell that I'm mixed. I have a European, African and Middle Eastern background.
you should embrace whatever you are. you are beautiful not cause you white and not cause you black.. but because god made you in his image but dont be ashamed of your 20%. yes i can tell you have black ancestry from your nose and head shape and you exude a certain essence only black women have. my daughter is so called bi racial but i teach her she is white and black so you can be proud of both her ancesters. i think saying bi racial or mixed is not the same as actually putting it out there saying im black and white. and no you dont fit the black stereo types of large forehead and nose and big lips and buttox cause not all black people have those features.

I'm also black, native American and caucasian but from London and I have been mistaken for being all kinds of ethnicities. It's definitely interesting being categorise according to peoples assumptions and treated accordingly too. I have had people been thrown back, when I said I'm part black but not in a good way, then they would try to ignore that and shun my black side (this happens usually outside of London). In all honesty, I clicked your mixed girl tag because your features looked unique I saw some caucasian but was unsure of the other mix... Black wouldn't have been my first guess, based on looks alone. Once I saw your how you present yourself in other videos, I could identify how you definitely embrace your black culture. Not trying to go so deep but in my experience a lot of my black friends/family including myself have a similar analytical mentality on society, I have also seen this in white people but not as many (in my experience so far). I think a lot of these American commenters have an extremely extremely narrow minded view of how "whites" or "Europeans" look. Not all Europeans are ghostly pale and blonde haired. There are full blooded ethnic Europeans who look even less "white" than she does, despite them being 100% European, so yes, she could easily pass as a "white" person. I've traveled before, and she could fit easily in countries like Albania, Greece, Italy, Spain, Portugal, and Sicily. Europeans can be tan skinned, sometimes even very tanned.
tbh mixed race to me is someone who has two or more ethnic backgrounds (e.g. 33% Black, 16% Persian and 51% Indian) and you appear to have the features of what a mixed race person has. I am about the same as your black:white ratio, but I have two different features - blue eyes and curlier/wavier hair. I know the annoyance of being called white, right after identifying as mixed. Some of the commenters are just RUDE. You and Me and everyone else of the 20% or 25% black mixed race group have the right to self-identify as mixed race, if we want to, and we have the proof and the evidence, but in the end of the day, to me, it's not a big deal. The reason I identify as mixed is because I AS A PERSON feel like identifying as one or the other ignores the other one, and I feel proud of all my history.

I feel you, girl! I'm half Mexican on my mum's side and half British on my dad's side, whilst I was born in England. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE gasps when they find out I'm half Mexican. And immediately I hear these: "So, do you speak Mexican?", " OMG, really?! You look white to me! Aren't you adopted? You look nothing like your parents!" and "Isn't that in South America?" It's like NO PEOPLE NO ARE YOU DUMB? First of all, I speak Spanish. Mexican isn't even a language. No I'm not adopted. Even though me and my twin brother (who looks exactly like me, but male, and shares similar problems) look different to our parents, my mum has dark skin, black hair and really dark brown eyes, my dad's a redhead with grey/blue eyes and freckles but his hair looks greyish blond with age and me and my twin have hazel amber green eyes and brown hair. And Mexico is in North America. I totally understand. #ProudToBeHalfLatina
I was starting to write a dissertation on genetics and decided it really isn’t important. So I deleted my post. At the end of the day we are all human. I hope some day our outer shell won’t matter as much as our inner selves. How we treat each other should matter more. Simply put there are times that Casey looks more White than mixed and times she looks mixed. But it really doesn’t matter. She is a human and so are we.

I've had this convo before with other people because I live in a really mixed area, (lol and my white friends are the ones who said this specifically), but white people tend to only look at skin tone while people of color look at features a little bit more. Your bone structure, eyes and hair texture show way more than the actual shade of your skin because that's just genetics. I have a friend whose mom has a very deep ebony complexion and her dad is white. She looks exactly like her mother except her skin is lighter than yours. She has her mom's same exact facial features and body composition, and super curly hair. White people always think she's just white and the rest of us can tell. I'm not really sure why that is though.
+LovingSoul61 that's how my mom is! her mother is waaaay darker than her, but all of their features are almost identical (eyes, bone structure, body). Genetics are really unpredictable!

If I would see you walking down the street, I would say you're white - but that's particularly because I live in a place where most white people live and people who aren't are or clearly black or clearly asian or with one black and one white parent and still take more to their 'black' side. But I know you're a mix of a thousand things, and because of that I can definitely see the black and native american in your features.

You look completely white. There is nothing african coming through in the video. You can pass as coming from any part of Europe or the middle east or even India. You can however never consider yourself black. Although it is understandable considering history with racism that this is a hugh issue in USA it is also very sad.
One needs to keep DNA heritage, looks AND racism apart. That is three totally different matters. There is obviously a lot of mixing going on in the USA and the concept of race needs to be dropped. People may look black, white or mixed. Who cares! We are all humans that look different. It's a wonderful thing.
The things that sets us humans apart is culture, religion, tradition etc. Not how we look - we are born the same.
I'm mixed but never knew exactly with what other than black. My mother is light but both her parents are black. I have your same skin tone (at least in this video) with extremely kinky wavy hair & a lot of curves. I've been mistaken for latino (by latinos), Creole, & albino but blacks always know I'm mixed. Its always been frustrating having extremely pale skin but feeling black because my mother's entire family is black & that's how I was raised but never knew my father & exactly what he was. I took some ancestry tests so hopefully that can be figured out someday.

I'm 1/3 Black 1/3 Middle Eastern and 1/3 European and I look weird as fuck! My nose is fat like an African, but bulky like an arab but also pointy like a white person. My lips are kind of big. My eyes are reddish brown. My hair is black and is type 3C or 4A curly frizzy hair. Apart from all of this people still do not believe I am part white and part black which is really sad because I have 3 great grandparents who are 100% African. But I know I'm black so I don't care.

This must be in the context of the United States, because if you had a girl with her phenotype and mixed genetic heritage growing up in the Ukraine or elsewhere, she wouldn't "sound" "black" nor have mannerisms that you associate with being "black". I've met 2nd generation "blacks" whose parents immigrated from elsewhere, and they "look" like U.S. blacks but their mannerisms, expressions, and turn of phrases (with American accents) give them away.
