We just returned from Coastal Karnataka road Tour yesterday . It seems you have taken wrong route specially when you had Mother and kids with you. We travelled from Pune to Karwar, Gokarna, Murudeshwar and finally to Udupi and returned. I posted on FB that those who want to do road trip do it from this route. It is absolutely wonderful. You should have taken Amba Ghat route to reach Goa after crossing Karad. It's wonderful road. You get connected to Mumbai Goa highway after crossing 120 km stretch from Karad via Amba Ghat. We travelled from Pune to Karwar 615 km in one go and I was the only driver ( 65 age). We started at 6 am and reached Karwar at 7pm. Roads are fantastic. Karwar to Udupi the roads are excellent, less traffic and scenic. We stayed in Karwar for two days, then proceeded to Gokarna (65 km) stayed for one day then proceeded to Murudeshwar 70 km and after darshan we proceeded to Udupi in two hours 100 km. Entire road is along seashore.
Sounds like an amazing road trip! Your journey through Coastal Karnataka sounds charming. Google map gave me the wrong route, but I appreciate the route suggestion; it seems like you had a fantastic experience, especially with such scenic views along the seashore. Thank you for sharing your travel insights! Please subscribe and support 😎
One common route is to take the NH48 from Mumbai to Murudeshwar. This route goes through cities like Pune, Hubli, and Sirsi. It's important to check for any updates or diversions on the route before starting your journey, as road conditions may change. Additionally, consider taking breaks during the long drive for rest and refreshment. Safe travels!
The most common route is to head south on National Highway 66 (NH66), which will take you through cities like Pune, Kolhapur, and Mangalore before reaching Murudeshwar. The journey can take around 12-14 hours, depending on traffic and stops along the way. Thank you for your comment 😊 Hope you subscribed to my channel 🙏
