My two cents, I love those pieces where the ink touched, it looks intentional to me and just REALLY cool!
edit: alcohol is extremely volatile: meaning it easily evaporates, leaving whatever that pigment grit is
heh i think all resin artists have handfuls of those inexpensive sets. your bottles are super pretty tho 🥰
Another idea. You can clear cote with clear nail polish. Brings up the shine without the sanding hassle.
I've tried clear nail polish and yes it does peel off, very easily.
Have you tried Crystal Glaze to save from sanding? I have this same dodgy mould. Let’s go!
@@daniel..cooper probably. I used gel polish and cured with uv light. We will see.
I'm glad you revisited the Petri. I love them!
The difference after top coating is awesome - I love hearing your thinking processes it's good to know how decisions are made to do what where + when - thankyou
Those came out very beautiful Daniel, even using old ink; you do amazing work. ❤😊
Your Petri effect pieces are definitely a firm favourite of mine - I love seeing each stage, especially the demould! If you turn the last piece you demoulded upside-down, it looks just like a dragon; beautiful. One day, when I'm feeling brave, I'll have to have a go at doing these myself!
I was just able to finish the video, watching while I am working, shhhhh, lol. The difference after you sanded it and covered it with UV is stunning! Absolutely gorgeous!
I want, that that one, and that one, oh and that one, and that one too!
You definitely haven't lost it!! Absolutely beautiful!
I really love them. They look like different coloured clouds that turn into a cyclone 🌀 and tornado 🌪 too. Thank you
Thanks for the flash back. I agree that the surface of pieces seem to appear glossy, but not a high gloss. The colors sure do pop.
“That’s risky!!!” Points horrified to blue itching to touch orange 😂😂😂😂
@@daniel..cooper have you tried TExpert crystal clear 2 part epoxy with Petri? I’m getting amazing results from its viscosity 😀
Oh Daniel!!! I think subconsciously I have missed your Petri effect pieces!!... Loved these....sooooo much.....thank you for doing them!!!! but then again I love all your experiments too!!! ugggg so many choices that I love!!!!!! Just do you boo....that's what I say!!!
Turned out fabulous still love you doing the petri you are the king of petri and no you haven't lost the technique 👍
The last two were pretty but then when you sanded and coated they became amazing. Learnt something new again.
I've been taking macros of my (dreadful) first attempts at petri today. I used to mess around with water, gesso, mica and paints to take weird macro shots, I do love an extreme macro! Thanks for all the tutorials. xx You are an inspiration. xx
Great pieces, Daniel. You definitely still got it. No question, Maestro!!!!!!!
Yes, my friend, you still got it! Makes me want to make some petries again too. One gets some times off of track with all the techniques - back to what got me started in the first place.
"DAN STIL HAS IT"! Fun to see you dropping inks again. Those 2 final pieces are just beautiful. I was dropping inks today..making trays. Lots of fun. Ty Dan!!!
They are beautiful, they remind me of eyes..am I BONKERS? Yep. SUPER BEAUTIFUL. ❤❤❤
19:01 that’s less petri and more satellite shot of planetary weather system! Bee-youtiful results 🎉👏🏼 (and maybe I’m weird but I like the blobs.)
So lovely to take a trip back in time! A lot of magic has happened since! It would be great to see the cloud effect again as they come out really well for me.
Looking forward to Sunday!👍☺️
Thanks Sue 😊 Yes, I may revisit that again soon bit with a twist maybe 😁
It was great to see them again & Yes you still got it ! Take care!
I LOVE pink and green.
Hello Daniel, I also need to get back to my resin. The work you have done today makes me miss it. Thank you for the inspiration🤗🤗💞💞💙💙
These are my favorites I've seen on your channel. AMAZING!!! TFS!! Austin TX USA
This is the sort of resin creations I love you doing, I think they are all amazing and will look fabulous as a jewellery piece ❤
Gorgeous C sea swirls... nice to see it again..❤😊 beautiful technique 😊
I love these pieces. The backs are solid colors and the fronts look more like kinetic sand. They are really neat 💜💜💜
Hi Daniel love a good old petri pour, beautiful pieces 😍 thanks for sharing ❤ xx
The better brands like Ranger and Malibu usually don't go off because they're better sealed. But for the cheaper ones, I just add a little iso or extender to my older alcohol inks and they're fine. But enjoyed your video, as always x.
I haven’t been with you since the beginning but I’m definitely staying to the very end 😉. Still amazed how you achieve this style; always beautiful 💕💕💕
Hey Daniel! So magical especially with the top coat!
And the backs are also pretty!
You definitely still got it! Petri is so classic, one of my favorite techniques there is. The little bit of muddying definitely works in these pieces! Beautiful work as always! 🤘🏻💜
These are amazing. Thank you. As a newbie, I have sooo many questions. But you're a brilliant teacher I've learnt so much already. Keen to learn so more. Can't wait. Can't stop watching 🤣🥰
I really like your bangle and your resin of course!❤❤❤
Thanks so much 😊 I lost the stone out of it but have put a new one in now 😂
I've definitely missed these videos with the grand de-molds! It's funny but you always start dropping colour into the large ovals, leave the large ovals till last on the de-mold and almost always declare them as your favourite!😂 My fave on this one was the backside of the 2nd heart - quite the different look front to back on petrie pours.
Thank you 😊 Yes, the ovals are always my favourite shapes to demold and the shape really pops the details due to the magnification 😁🥰
Love the colors ,the effects they made, and now I understand why do we need to top coat so as to get that beautiful glass finish.Thank you so much sir Daniel for this tutorial 🙏💜
Stunning. I liked the backs of most of them MUCH more than the front. Some of the front sides were just ho-hum.
I'm just not big on swirls. Maybe just for fun a straight swipe?
I tried one of the methods you used, and it was fascinating. Even my father liked it. thank you. 😍
Fun to see the old method quite pleasing ❤ still got skills no rust on your bones Daniel 😊
You've still got it!
I love all the pink ones.
I really love this effect. You're way too hard on yourself Daniel. Looking forward to the new video tomorrow. ❤
The colors are INSANELY beautiful!!!! Love them all Thank you so much for sharing ❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤
You’ve definitely still got it! So fun to see you returning to your roots lol
I just LOOVE the petri effect so gorgeous . I too can see the * scratches/lines on the pieces . Hope you do get better molds Much love from a brit living in australia
Those are some of my favorite color combinations you've done! I really liked the backsides before you did any swirling too. 😁
I am OBSESSED with this technique!!! But show off letting us know you can afford to put the heating on 😂
I love the spores in the pink and purple one. The last heart-shaped one is perfect. The muddying looks like it belongs.
MAGNIFIQUE !!! comme toujours !! Merci Dan pour le partage 🥰🥰❤❤❤❤❤❤
Very nice Daniel, that mold leaves a hazy look. ❤ thanks for sharing
Heck yes you still got it!!! I'm totally amazed!!! Thank you for doing these videos.❤
Hi Daniel! As always: super fantastic !!! Truly wonderful effects! Crazy how he can change a piece with polishing and a drop of resin... it looks like glass. Superm! 🤩❤
It was nice to go back in time to Petri! as usual, you got great results. You've still got it!
🎉🎉 so missed you doing these Dan,yes you do still have it loved this one thanks for sharing Dan🎉🎉❤
These are beautiful. I haven't used alcohol inks as of yet, and I think it's best I don't because I'd get lost in all those swirls and colours and just stare at them, which is not a good thing for business. What I am tempted to do after watching this, is take out my acrylic paints and paint something really colourful. And you should take those macro shots and make big prints of them, because that is art.
Stunning as always my friend!
It has been a while since we have had a demold like this. You still got it though on the petrie effect 😂. They turned out great even with the old inks.
✌️❤️🤣 peace, love and happiness
OMG!! Absolutely stunning!!!
Beautiful work Daniel 🤩
Wows! The oval ones make me think of red and blue phoenix swirled together.
I looked at some patents for silicone putties and they just say things like binder or inert filler, will keep looking
I loved the purple, i don’t know why you were worrying, the are all beautiful!
I hope you’ve sent that mold back! The scratches on it were shocking!! Great results though ❤
I will use them for experiments 😁 They were cheaper than usual to be fair.
I know I’m a few months behind but,I have a mold that looks like that, that I bought from a hobby shop near me but mine looks a bit different, yours looks like the design may have been 3D printed then cast with silicone which would explain the line streaking.
I love the petri effect!! Have not tried to do it yet, but I feel inspired every time you do them!! Thank you!! 🫶
Hi Daniel - love your resin experiments and the results. Thank you for sharing them with us. I love the last cabochon - it looks like you have inlaid a blue feather.
There is no expiration for alcohol ink lol. Just add some 99% and keep going. I often make my own in fact, it's far cheaper. You can use markers, pigments, micas, acrylic inks, printer ink, etc. It's more about the pigments used and whether they are UV resistant as to how long they last. Concentration of the pigment is easier when they are self made as well 😝 Beautiful 💞
P. S. For metallics, for some reason, mica powders don't work as well as acrylic inks. They won't stay mixed and tend to plug the dropper. A drop of glycerin will help keep them blended too.
I did wonder as contains alcohol but searches say 12 months after opening. The lavender color was definitely offish, will definitely try that tip though, thank you 😊 🙏
The petri king is back. Even with ancient inks, they turn out great! Darn, that mold. The last one was my favorite. The top coat made them amazing. 😊
They are really nice but I like the backs🤣
😂😂😂 The backs can look so cool! I will try doming the backs soon and see how they come out 😁
Those are so pretty
Thank you for showing what it looks like without the stir! Love the vids
Thanks Daniel.... sometimes it's nice to go back to what inspired us in the first place. I haven't made a piece like this in awhile but this in inspiring. I love the Petri effect. These turned out fab ...pity about the mould...but at least there is the option to sand and glaze. Beautiful finish ❤❤
Thanks Siobhan 😊 🫂 Yes, definitely nice to reflect 😁 I have new shiny ones now 🥰
You should make your own mold Daniel.
I have some old inks from 4 years ago. Don't know if they are usable though.
These came out awesome ❤😊
Thanks Ali 😊 These molds are so cheap to be honest, could cost more to make. Worth a try, they may still work 🥰
That is really beautiful, I like them.
I don't know why in my resin the ink just goes to the bottom and stay there, even the other colors, not only the white one!
Hi all, if you remember my swipe and wipe technique, I have an epic new way coming Sunday 😎 It's gonna be an epic upgrade to swiping designs with stencils ❤
Cool, can’t wait to see it!
@@katrinthorsdottir7514 😁😁😁
These turned out pretty well, actually.👍🏻😊
@debbrady497 Thanks Deb 😊 🙏 🫂
You said “ clear stick” when talking about the cocktail stick. Just an fyi
