It's lovely that in a world full of cynicism, people exist who are so kind, empathetic and ready to help. However let's not forget that this is a disability, including cadiovascular disabilities and developmental delays. It's important to remember that these kids are real people with real problems, otherwise we might risk ignoring their problems. We can appreciate their cheerfulness and kindness and still remember that they need help and support.
+Banana Manchester Thank you! Finally some one who understands.I am a woman who has Williams Syndrome. You get the whole picture though.I agree with everything you said.Especially the real kids real problems. :) Thank you for your truth and your kindness.
I believe the same problem goes for autism as well. We often call autism, more specifically Aspergers and high functioning autism a “gift” and a savant type thing, only to forget that it is an actual disability.
@@SpruceyTurtle I wouldn't say that, they are just different... I'm very introverted and almost always go unnoticed in a crowd kind of the opposite of them but that's OK, and they are OK too. They are a blessing and I hope each and every one of them gets and feels nothing but love.
I don't care what anyone says, these kids are awesome!!! They're kind, helpful and seem like a real delight to be around. The general public could learn a lesson from them.
That little girl saying how much she wants to help people was so lovely. I know that William's Syndrome isn't all about friendliness (for one thing there are quite a few physical illnesses that go along with it), but at least along with the bad stuff they have that kind of empathy and kindness.
I love this video! My sister has Williams Syndrome and is only in this video once at 2:04 - 2:05 (shes the one sitting at the table with her back facing towards you. She's got the flower shirt on and my mom is the brunette in the stripes in front of her) because my mom tried to avoid the cameras the entire time they were there. I go there every year with my family and we stay in a nearby place by the camp. I know pretty much every single kid in this video! I know Eva (who wants to pet all the dogs), Ella (shown many times in this video but not mentioned by name), Ben (camp counselor), and many more in this video! They're all so nice and sweet and they are a blast! They are really party kids!
I used to have a friend with Williams Syndrome, and one of my favorite memories with her was going to the mall together and her complimenting every single person in every store, especially those trying on clothes. You could see the joy in peoples faces. It was so infectious. On our way home, I turned on “dancing on my own” by Robyn, with all the windows down and was singing and was singing to her all silly. She told me it was the best moment of her life and she wished I was her sister and we could live together. She now has her own boyfriend who also has Williams Syndrome, and is living her best life ❤
My brother has WS and if I didn't have him I would not be the person I am today. He has taught me how to be a human. After a long day, I can always come home to "how was your day?, "what did you do today?", and "we should do something this weekend". I always say everybody should be like Abraham (my brother) simply because he is the greatest! The world is a better place because of Williams Syndrome. We are truly indebted to them. 💗
Angad S. Well, in theory yes it would be a perfect world. But this isn’t a perfect world, even if everyone had this someone will still get greedy, and you know, capitalism.
I wish the whole world had a tenth of their love and compassion. We would be better for it. He hit the nail on the head. WE are the ones with a disability
These children are wonderful angels. They deserve everything good in the world. I am sad that they are probably not treated well by people who are unable to understand them. It warmed my heart, though. I didn't know such happy and loving people could exist in our world.

Watching this made me simultaneously feel happy and guilty in equal measure. These kids have such pure hearts that I feel like I am a hateful and evil being compared to them. We really need to record the words, actions and stories of people like this. As a species, the rest of us need them if we are to ever begin recovering from the diseases of uncontrolled and ego led selfishnes greed and hate. We need their guidance before their 'ways' disappear from our collective existence. We need to support them for their own sake and ours, and we need to protect them from those suffering at the opposite end of the spectrum, the narcissistic psychopaths and sociopaths, who wish every minute for 'prey' like this. These kids and those like them should be held up as an example of how we need to treat each other and enjoy being alive. Their condition is no disease, they are just different, in a way that is essential to the development of our species. They may suffer various health and developmental issues, but I feel like that might be some sort of karmic trade-off for having such happy and emotionally mature attitudes, heightened empathy and ability to feel and act upon unconditional love with effortless ease. They literally know no hate, they are truly beautiful, they are treasures. I am thankful they are a part of our diverse world.
i work in a daycare, and one of my kids has Williams Syndrome. i cant even count the number of times he’s managed to turn my day around. he is an absolute joy to be around, and i hope more people not only gain awareness of this condition, but connect with those with the condition.

Yep , fun for a while and manageable with appropriate support both hands on and financially. To survive and thrive as humans we need balance. When you work closely with those living with intellectual disability and high support needs ,you quickly grow to understand the impact it has on parents, siblings and mostly the person themselves. A young man once said to me "just because you see me smile all day ,doesn't mean I'm happy , it's part of my disability and my fugging body won't physically let me express other emotions". Meaning , his facial muscles won't let him frown, be angry, look sad etc etc . He had cerebral palsy but Williams and other Syndromes are not that different when it comes to connection or lack there of ,with emotional state and outward perceptions.
My little sister had Williams syndrome and she wears headphones (like people have at construction site) when she’s at school or at the store because it hurts her ears with all the loud noises and people talking. And whenever the house gets to loud (there’s 6 of us, and 4 birds) she wants us to quiet down and tells us to do so. She always waves at people and cars passing because she’s just so friendly like that, and when people don’t wave back or say hello she gets a little hurt. Kids with Williams Syndrome are such sweet kids and they are very funny children.
I envy and pity these children at the same time. They live in a world where everything is sunshine and rainbows, yet it's so detatched from reality that it makes me feel bad because they'll likely never know what the world is really like.

It's a disorder of social disinhibition. It can lead to an extreme impact on their social lives, as they expect everyone to be as friendly and optimistic as them. This kind of mechanism of socializing with peers their age can alienate them, putting them at increased risk of depression and social anxiety. Their hospitality is almost alien to me. It'd be a good thing, I believe, for the most part, if it weren't for the fact that human personality is so varied in length and scope. They're socially extraverted, to the extreme. They're gregarious, lively, energetic, warm-hearted, and easy to amuse.
I wish I was as outgoing and friendly as they are. I do my best to be nice to people, but I'm autistic and I've been hurt a lot in life by others. My dad keeps telling me to assume best intentions, but it's difficult when you're not sure if someone really wants to be your friend or if they're gonna stab you in the back. That's why I was so surprised at how accepting my fellow theatre majors are at my university. :)
I know someone who has this condition or something similar. She has the same characteristics like being overly happy, no fear toward people she doesn't know. She is always hugging people and giving them high fives to the point where your hands are raw.

I don't wanna try to be pessimist, but they look happy maybe cause they're innocent. They are friendly with everybody, but not everybody is friendly. They may be hurt by someone else :(
