Blaine's title is "The Hotheaded Quiz Master." His strategy is to incinerate challengers with his rough-and-ready Fire-type Pokémon. To reach Blaine, challengers have to answer a series of quiz questions about Pokémon. Blaine only takes off his sunglasses when thinking up new quiz questions. When he once got lost in a treacherous, freezing mountain range, he was guided out of the mountains by a Moltres. Apparently, this is what inspired him to train Fire-type Pokémon. Blaine is a resident of Cinnabar Island, and has lived there since before the Cinnabar Lab was built. He is apparently on good terms with Mr. Fuji. In addition to the Volcano Badge, Blaine gives out TM38 (Fire Blast) in Pokémon Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, FireRed, and LeafGreen. In HeartGold and SoulSilver he gives out TM50 (Overheat). In Pokémon Gold, Silver, and Crystal, and their remakes, the volcano on Cinnabar Island erupted, destroying the town, and leaving Blaine and his Pokémon homeless. Blaine relocated his Gym to the Seafoam Islands, and remains there a whole year after the volcanic eruption back on Cinnabar. He plans to rebuild his Gym one day. He is able to be battled again in Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver, after collecting his number at any time on Tuesday. He is found on Cinnabar Island. A call to him on Tuesday afternoon will arrange a rematch. In HeartGold and SoulSilver, Blaine has added Gym Trainers and a puzzle to the Gym, unlike in Gold and Silver where Blaine stood alone in a small room.
And don't forget the M A N G A L O R E : Blaine was a scientist reluctantly working for Team Rocket, and was the one who created MewTwo by cloning Mew. Due to some wacky incidents, MewTwo and Blaine are psychically linked, and so they both start to die from Clone Cancer or some shit. When MewTwo starts rampaging, Blaine feels it's his responsibility and sacrifices himself to stop him. Or something like that, it's been a while lol.

Max, I'm dissapointed that you did not think of the possibility that the Purrloin was perfecting it's invention of a pill that expands into a Pokeball when submurged in water. The Purrloin was clearly doing scientific research, just like the research you should have done of Pokemon lore before making bogus accusations.

Historically Cinnabar Island's gym always involved answering quiz questions in order to progress forward to Blaine (except in Generation 2 when the entire island had been leveled by a volcanic eruption). Recently, in Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee for the Switch Cinnabar Island gym was reimagined into a full fledged quiz show, hosted by Blaine.

Professor Blaine. He used to work with pokemon DNA until it was decided he'd help with cloning Mew for Team Rocket, with the Rocket Scientists. During the process, one of the clones were about to fail because the DNA structure was incomplete and so the story of Blaine splits in two. In one story, Blaine provides his own blood to act as a catalyst to keep Mew alive and in the process altered the clones dna enough to make him look somewhat human. This also caused both of them to gain a connection where Blaine can feel where Mewtwo is while mewtwo understands what Blaine thinks. The other story is, the clone undergoes mutation and breaks through, destroying the lab leaving. Blaine, wanting to do nothing with this project leaves and goes to Cinnibar island starts researching fire types. He becomes the gym leader there because there was an abandoned gym there and the league and city in Cinnibar fund the gym to stay up as a tourist spot. Funds which Blaine uses to research on his spare time. The quiz show is just a tcg thing lol.

probably many people already told ya, but that blaine's quiz show is about the let's series on switch, on the original there was a gym where you had to walk around trough the gym and answer questions... but in the let's go series the gym has been made to have only one bench where you have to answer the questions and then at the end you battle blaine (also the gym about the same as in that picture)
