We take a look at the new Maverick Quantum2 MT Flux from HPI Racing. This could be the best new entry level RC car champion, let's see what comes in the box and take it out for its first drive!

Iv'e had this new Quantum2 truck now a couple of months & luv it, the Q2 version is night & day better & tougher than the old Q1 version in every way. It's even more durable than the Rival MT10, re programming the esc. I understand you need the Hobbywing v2 prog box, but must the the box with the blue writing on the front of the box. The box with the white writing dosn't work with the esc. I also geared up a couple of teeth to a 16t pinion, which livened it up a bit more. 16t pinion is the largest you can go, as the motor is mounted on a series of set holes in the motor plate. HPI/Maverick has done a great job on this new budget truck, lets hope they revamp there wider line of trucks of off this new platform & they are onto a winner I think.
Thanks, you're right! The LCD card works, awesome!
@@RazorRC Razor was that the lcd card with the blue writing on the front of the card.
@@gillian9178 mines got white writing
Yeah the truck seems like a real winner. You really think it's more durable than the Rival? That would definitely be impressive for sure! Only downside is I wish it had a center diff like the Rival. Hopefully they have it as an upgrade option in the future.
Yes, it had a center diff it would almost be perfect for what it is man...
I hate how Traxxas poisoned the market with high cg cars. It doesn't even increase ground clearance due to the front and rear bulkheads being so low.
Great vid, as always, Razor. Interesting you mentioned you liked the suspension, that's my #1 gripe with this car. Unless they've tweaked it since I gave my feedback to HPI, but in my truck it was definitely its weakest point. I'm gonna have to drive mine again to see if I notice that issue with the throttle. I can't say I noticed that... Or maybe I did and just got used to it.
Great to see you throw this thing around in the jumps and looking forward to what else you do with yours.
Also, thanks for mention. 🤜🤛
Thanks, I watched your second 3S video again, did I hear you right? 1300cst? I had to change the front shock oil because one of them had leaked out and I put in 30wt (350cst) 😁. I think it's pretty close to a good all-around oil, but I still get some bounce for some reason on those big doubles at the end of the video even downsiding them perfectly. Rears I also tightened down a bit to get the arms level.
I've been waiting for these to be sold in the US. Great overview and run👍
Thanks! 👍
Amain have it on stock I think.
@@johnnyvestergaard9141 Yup Razer had the link in the description. Ordered one right after I watched the vid👍
These are really nice looking head turning trucks.😊
Great review.!
Hpi/Maverick are killing it lately.!! 👍 👍 👍
That’s a smooth little truck👍🏼🔥
Sweet little truck. Great review!
Great truck for the money. This is probably the best 1/10 truck right now, considering it's cheaper than others in its class. Nice review Razor 👌
Awesome video thanks. Please do a follow-up. Maybe some comparison to mt 10 and others? And some tuning advice. I am on the fence which one to get... ;)
Super cool place an awesome truck to have there❤ so perfect 👌
Great video and nice truck.
It flies nicely
Nice driving man
Thanks
maverick seems to have nice rc
so far so good
Nice. In the other reviews that I've seen, it's looked somewhat clumsy in the air and I was kind of put off by that. Your driving certainly seems to be getting more/better out of it.
I went with the Rival MT10 when it was on sale and bought a brushless motor/ESC for about the same price as this. I'm still not sure if I made the right choice or not. This truck looks awesome.
You made the right choice
Just get the RPM a arms and call it Christmas
Gearmesh sounds a bit tight. Might explain the drag brake feel
Which battery is installed and does it also do wheelies?
Maverick brand is pretty old, I think closer to 20 years, they are killing it with the new vehicles though
And where can i find parts for it?
Rival Mt10 and Arrma Granite Competitor! Its a good truck.
The Granite needs a serious refresh.
I'm guessing they will have a V4 this summer.
@@Fly2kill1 But you can easily upgrade your Granite by yourself, but it costs you a bit.
@@RazorRChoping now that the 4s trucks got center diffs they update the new versions with a CD as well. That's what gives the Rival the edge over all the 3s 1/10 MTs imo. Drives so nice when it has a center diff.
Sweet. Im digging this truck. But ive got the Avenge/Rival already moded respectively. Is that really a 540/3650 or is it a 3660…looking fwd to ur thoughts on the rig.

I wonder how the Quantum compares to the MT410 V2. Especially if the Tekno is worth more than twice the money.
I'm not really into monster trucks as such , although i wouldn't mind trying out an ARRMA KRATON EXB 6S which isn't a monster truck as such , but a kind of truggy . I'm mostly into road and rally RC cars , with the exception of a 14th scale LC RACING EMB-1H 4WD buggy and a couple HOBAO HYPER VS2 buggies . I do have a some budget MAVERICK 8TH scale QUANTUM R FLUX RACE TRUCKS , and MUSCLE CARS as part of my budget RC car collection as well as a couple of MAVERICK STRADA TC TOURING CARS as well , amongst some other budget friendly RC cars , as well as some more expensive and more top tear RTR RC on road and rally RC cars .
Thanks for telling us what you have, insightful info into this truck and review 👍
Hey Razor so this and the riarllo terminator are around the same price. Im guessing this one is definitely the better buy/value/truck?
honestly, I had the slow version of the Rlaarlo, so it's hard for me to tell how good the Omni is.
@@RazorRC Ah I see. I'd definitely side with this as it seems to be bigger and faster and also really tough as well
well considering the rlarlo is smaller I would go with this guy here because I just got my Carbon fiber version last night and it sure isnt 1/10. Its like 12th scale but it does come with a battery too though. This guy dont. I guess its a even trade size versus coming with a batt.
@@jaceSHO Yeah I agree about going with this one as it's bigger and seems really tough. Got a bunch of batteries so not really a huge factor but I definitely get what you're saying
@@cwatson42785 unless some of them are shorty packs they won't fit the Rlaarlo unless you move the esc into a dumb place. I got lots of batteries to and still had to order new ones for the OT.
Looks like Khorne red

@@bashslash0972 thank you
The grub screw on Center diff come lose on mine watch out for this
Pretty doggie!
Still waiting on a redcat Vig vid
no plans
@@RazorRC thats fine for me. Redcat does not sell their products in Europe, so i dont need them. its a sad, but easy.
The Vigilante is great. It definitely handles better than my Xmaxx. I'm going to re power mine once Vitavon or someone makes a big can motor mount so can gear up appropriately. It handles like a plastic Arrma 8s rig is the best way I can explain it. I still prefer my big Arrma's but after the Vigilante gets big power that could change. It's that good.
I have an HPI Maverick Quantum brushless. It's easily the worse RC I have ever bought. I barely even jump it, and stuff breaks on it if you look at it wrong. I even had to buy upgraded driveshafts from factory, since the stock ones were absolute garbage. This thing is in pieces and I will never fix it. And it's hard to get to the diffs on top of all that. Never again will I touch an HPI product. My experience. Thanks for the video 👍
It you watched the video without giving your conclusion on THIS truck 😂
I baught this and the front diff went on me in a few days I had to send it back the grub screw on the front diff cup goes lose and it starts to slip
great - I have one in the mail and that sounds shitty. Were you launching it? Why did it go out ?
@@jaceSHO I didn’t even launch it mate I raced around a few times and it just kept going on me I would understand if I did jump it or launch it but I never did any of that
@@richchase1381 I seen Tomley RC was runnin his and said the same - mine should be here today so first thing Im doing is addin the Loctite before I go out with it.
@@jaceSHO hope u have better luck than me mate
QUICK
This or the Granite ?
The sale ends in 36 hours
This looks like a solid truck. I bought the granite at the beginning of the sale. I have heard that parts availability is better with arrma. You probably can’t go wrong either way. I only have a few packs through the granite, but love it so far
Granite for parts support, warranty and upgrades alone. Plus the Granite is normally the more expensive truck.
for the sale price i would buy the granite !
When in europe stay clear of arrma! Constant issues with spare parts. Its infuriating
Thanks for the input
How come no kids are ever in the park? It’s amazing place
I hire an ice cream truck to show up at one end of the park.
@@RazorRC LOL
Is it really budget when you end up buying all these budget cars when yo my can just get a good car
It is a good truck though
Well, probably doesn't make sense to buy 5 of these unless you have 5 people, but one seems fine.
What's your point? Who buys 5 same vehicles?
Me
too late
I installed the factory team drive shafts on the MT10 and it was a good investment.
