Gjama e maleve, The Lament of the Mountains

This film documentary shows the lament of the men of the mountains of the North of Albania, when a friend has died. The circumstances of the life of these people, the self isolation they found as a way to survive to many invasions, could conserve also the collective lament, this ancient costume, that brings you back more than 2000 years ago.

Gjama eshte akoma me e lashte se koha e dukagjinit pavarsisht se ua kan caktuar greqise se vjeter por ajo rron ne shqiperi e jo ne greqi po te lexohet homeri shikohen krejt ritualet e malsorve kori i grave qe qane te vdekurin dhe Akili qe qane Patroclo kryen te njejtat gjeste te burrave malesore Shkul floket i bjen vetes cjerr fytyren e hedh hi mbi vete
