Dear Swamiji. I am deeply grateful for your Vedanta classes. Great introduction with wonderful prayer. I am glad you clarified at the beginning that Vedanta is not a teaching for scholars/studying but have a purpose to remove the human suffering. It is here to lead us to our true nature which is pure Being. Om Namah Shivaya! 🙏
Swami Tadatmananda is a veritable well of wisdom from which we can drink from the purest "water" of supreme understanding. From Brazil I humbly reverence to you Swamiji.
What rare good fortune to hear this 1st class exposition on the essence of Vedanta delivered with such clarity, ease and delight. My heart leaps with joy at prospect that there are 600+ verses to go!! 🌸🌸🌺💛🌏⭐️✨🙏🙏
Greetings Swamiji. I used to live down the street from the center but I recently moved away. I'm glad I can see your teaching on the internet. Thank you.
I've watched your whole series on atma bodha , then I had to buy and read vivekachudamani, now discovering this? Thank you for all the metaphors Swami Tadatmananda!
it is very surprise to me which can't teach the basic son of soil of india u r soul utter pure knowledge among the argue of three teacher and protect organism through critic their adaitya rather than pure knowledge.bravo today i am so pleasure.
Namaste, Swami-ji! I'm so excited about this new course, and so thankful that you are sharing it with us online. I'm definitely here for all 600+ verses if you're willing to take us through the whole text. 🙏
I have tremendous respect for your thorough knowledge. I do not know wheather I can meet but definitely pray God for opportunity to meet you🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿
Delighted and grateful that Swamiji has chosen to teach us the Upadesha Sahasri. I look forward to the lessons to come. This lesson concluded with the message that since Consciousness (chaitanyam) is self-revealing the Upanishads need not reveal Consciousness. Further, it stands to reason that if the Upanishads did so then Consciousness would become an object (of the revelation) which cannot be. However, the knowledge that we are Consciousness is neither self-revealing nor is that revealed through any of the means of knowledge (pramanas) we possess as individuals, e.g., direct perception, inference, etc. For instance, we cannot examine our experience and independently arrive at the Upanishadic assertion “tat tvam asi” or “prajnanam Brahma” using inference alone. Seems to me that the Upanishads are the only pramana for that knowledge and, in that sense, it seems appropriate to say that the Upanishads reveal knowledge about our true nature as Consciousness.
The technical term that I have heard which refers to that which cannot be arrived at through perception or inference alone is “anadhigata”. Not sure if this characterization of the subject matter of the Upanishads is presented by Sri Shankaracharya in the verses to come in the Upadesha Sahasri.
Humble Pranams Swamiji. Each of your teachings are extremely clear and completely in line with the Advaita Vedanta as explained by Shri Shankarachaarya. It is a great privilege to have such Guru during our times... 🙏🙏
Good exposition on Consciousness, Chaitanya, or Brahman. To tap into and merge with That Pure Consciousness, no problem. Access "Mahamritunjaya mantra - Sacred Sounds Choir" and listen to it for 5 min per day for at least two weeks This is the foremost Shiva mantra of the Rig Veda. Enjoy the Sat-Chit-Ananda.
Dear swamiji I am extremely thankful for your teachings. I am requesting you to make a vedeo about the difference between maya and mithya, also we request you to make a vedeo on Sankaracharya's Nirvana Shatakam. We want to hear your thoughts on that. Pranam swamiji
Namaha: it is NOT said, "I salute to Consciousness". It is just said "salutations are offered". Therefore, the one who offers salutations disappears. When salutations are offered and one who offers them disappears, there can't be the doer of an action of offering of salutations [no kartrutvabhāva]? Hence, the one who offers salutations disappears and the Supreme Reality that I AM [I= Consciousness, AM= Existence. I Exist, and I Am aware that I Exist], to whom salutations are offered, alone remains. My humble pranams to Swamiji for having started this highly enlightening Upadesha Sahasri.
Swamiji, If pure consciousness is all pervasive, then even rocks, plants, planets should also be in the realm of consciousness, then what is the difference between a human and a rock or planet or a plant
Love the teachings and your classes. My question is if the same consciousness is all pervasive and it is present in the arm of the chair too, then when we die the consciousness leaves our body. So then the body does not have caitanyam. Your thoughts please.
Consciousness is all pervading. Hence it is always there. It does not (cannot) enter or leave the body. So then what leaves the body at the time of death? The mind, which is technically called "sukshma shareera" quits the body at the time of death. I think Swamiji has me an entire video on this topic.

Pranam , I had a strange experience in this body , two days back had dream and had seen a person in the dream as usually we know it’s an illusion not real and the very next day I was standing in the counter queue of supermarket and What I see is the same to sane person in front paying in the counter , I was just cold , blown off because I never had seen or met this unknown person but I saw him in the dream and then I saw him in person which was vice versa of actuality. If he in the dream was an illusion so that in the waking state was also an illusion and as said everything is appearing in the Consciousness and Everything is Consciousness, there is nothing apart from Consciousness, From that moment I am so much in silence as who can understand what I saw. At the same time now everything is there but everything is an appearance in waking state as it’s in dream ….
@john abhimanu so if dreams are not true waking dream is also not true , is it not there is a continuity in both states , the only continuity of pure being , 🤔,
Swami, how do we know if wakefulness is also not a dream? Is it not possible that what we are thinking as wakeful is also within my dream? In that case how do we actually know what is a dream and what is to be awake?
The dream example is one of the primary examples in Vēdānta. The beginners text for Vēdānta called Tattvabodha says "jagat mithya" which means the universe does not have an independent existence (it depends on Brahman). Just like our dream does not have an independent existence (dream depends on the dreamer to continue to dream in sleep, and resolves once the person wakes up). In fact, the waking state is compared to the dream of the supra waker, who is Brahman, which is our real nature, and the teachings ask us to "wake up" to our real nature!
To just make one more point that the person whom I saw in the dream was physically or mentally disabled to some extent and it was the same when I saw in person standing in the counter …. 😳

Swamiji, If pure consciousness is all pervasive, then even rocks, plants, planets should also be in the realm of consciousness, then what is the difference between a human and a rock or planet or a plant
Sri Adi Sankaracharya lived a very short life. It would be unreasonable to think all of those texts attributed to him have in fact written by him.
It is indeed written by him.
