Me too. But it wasn't called goth in 1980.., was New wave then, possibly Dark Wave. Real Goth came after the ninetees, and had very different music actually, it was a form of Metal. Just nowadays they call that Dark Wave Gothic. It always surprises me.

Real Goth music isn't metal music. Gothic metal is a subgenre of metal. More of a subgenre of Death metal.

I've only been listening to this stuff for the past year or so, but I keep seeing other people say they're just getting into it now. Maybe Goth is going through some kind of surge in new interest. Either way, I'm glad I finally got around to it. It's very transcendent music and I get a great feeling of comfort listening to it. My only regret is not listening to it sooner, honestly.

To answer your question :
No, i don’t monetize my video because
a) i do not have the rights on most of the songs
b) i absolutely HATE when i’m enjoying a mix or a whole album and there’s ads interrupting the music. So I don’t insert ads so you guys can enjoy it from the beginning to the end.
But maybe I will monetize future videos if I find a cool concept or something that I entirely create :)

Néanmoins c’est vrai ce que tu dis, la scène goth en France est pas super répandue, (à moins qu’on ne cherche pas au bon endroit)
après moi j’ai juste fais ce mix parce que j’aimais bien les musiques mais je ne m’auto proclame pas gothique, c’est un mouvement qui a tellement été galvaudé. Je dirais que j’aime beaucoup la mélancolie qui se dégage des mélodies et de manière générale, j’ai toujours été attirée par le gothisme, le romantisme, la nostalgie... rohh, je pars loin dans mon truc moi 🙄
Mais bref tout ça pour dire la scène goth française n’est pas morte et french punks not dead non plus 🖤
