you may be correct. im originally from north carolina and my parents georgia.dioula words like tote meaning to carry were common. names like ola,ida,elnora were common amongst rural folk.sadly with the advent of time and made up names like ta-asia,dayquan ect.ect. you wont find such names like ola anymore. my wife is from cote d'iviore and her parents are from mali. both mandig/dioula and bambarra speakers and she says kizzie ,ola and ida are still used.ola may be olu in nigeria,ida is adele.
