the writers quite literally said some of their favorite scenes this season are of jj and kiara. the writers love them it wasn’t just to make fans happy.

Excited for JJ and kie I don’t understand how it’s forced they have been hinting at it since season 1. From what I’ve read the writers said they saw how much chemistry they have and always planned for them getting together.
Kie literally said to John B in the first season “you didn’t tell JJ we kissed right?”. Also the way JJ looked at Kie in the first season when Kie and Pope kissed. There has always been something there.
Same thing I said, I also think JJ might not think he's good enough for her.

rudy and madison actually ship jiara and they’re all for it! I love y’all but you guys get so influenced by fake negativity, they’re still close and they’ve been shipping jiara since season 1. 😂 just give them a chance 😭
I respect your opinions on jiara, but i think its unreasonable to say that its forced just because the characters never explicitly stated that they were interested in each other so far.
Because they've always had something way more important than that: chemistry. The eye contact between JJ and Kiara alone is enough for it to be wayyyyyy more believable that they might have feelings for each other than Pope and Kiara's "chemistry" in all of season 2.
In season 1, Kiara initially rejects Pope because he doesn't want what she wants: to travel the world, etc. And in S2E10, JJ tells Kiara that his dream is to travel the world - I think that's when Kiara realizes that he's the boy she's been looking for all along.
Their relationship is the opposite of rushed, it's a slow burn. It took them three seasons to get here. (Literally in the first episode of the entire show, JJ clearly says that he finds Kiara attractive and tells John B: "I know that door's locked because I've tried it").
Madison Bailey said this a few days ago on EW: "Kiara is not waiting for a knight in shining armor. I think both of them [JJ + Kiara] being independent and free-spirited is what brings them together. It's a natural progression forward for them. I was excited to explore that, and to work with him and see our friendship onscreen more this season."

Also in the second episode john literally tells jj thats he is the one who has a thing for because he is always hitting on her, jj just says that the door is locked because he tried it. Yeah. I get it and I'm not disagreeing with you but you also have to think that a lot of the obx viewers are jiara fans. If they were never together or even gotten a chance with each other, the fans would stop watching. You have to think of this from a business stand point as well.
I really don’t think people are going to stop watching because of one ship. Maybe some will but if ppl truly like the story/show, they wouldn’t stop watching just because of a ship that have no impact to the plot itself. Fanservice can ruin a story so easily and I rather see the writer’s vision than pleasing shippers

I'm so happy I'm not the only one that thinks Jiara is super forced and didn't have nearly as much build up as a lot of fans seem to think. Like, Kie being a lesbian was hinted at more than her being in love with JJ.

I also just thought that because I didn’t really feel any chemistry between any of the guys and her romantically. And the not feeling the spark is probably just another thing that the writers threw in there to make it more obvious that kie clearly doesn’t like pope the way that he likes her. It was always setting jiara up, I mean it’s the biggest ship of the show and the fans liking them probably push the writers to rush out their relationship. Also they gave subtle hints that kie might like jj, like when she asks John b if jj knew about their kiss (I think that’s what it’s about) and then John b ask her why do u ask and she said no reason. Also when she looked over if jj is sleeping to give pope a good night kiss. I also sound like a hardcore jiara shipper but I’m really not lol since I feel like their chemistry is so platonic and I don’t see the vision of them like the writers and the fans does. I just wanted to point out moments where I think it’s pretty nicely written from the writers because the hints are so subtle. I kind of hate it actually when a woman and a man can’t just be friends so they make her date the whole friend group until she find the “one”. It’s just so forced

I like JJ and Kie together as the characters but I don't know why fans are always shipping the actors together. That literally ruined their friendship in real life, which really sucks and probably made their relationships with their partners awkward. That's really uncomfortable for the actors especially when you're already in a relationship and other people don't respect it. I don't think their relationship on the show would be forced especially if they know how to go about it this season. If they do get together, then it would have taken them 3 seasons to get there which is a slow burn and I like that. I'm excited to see how their story unfolds. I love Outer Banks, probably one of my favorite Netflix shows!! ❤

the directors literally said they did this because of the fans. Jiara is literally fan service. I don't think JJ and Kie are forced. I think what they tried to do with Kie and Pope in season 2 was forced though. Kie and JJ have always had an emotional connection and I think there has been mutual attraction on both sides. JJ has always liked her and I think that Kie might have had some feelings for him because she asked John B in season 1 if he told JJ about the kiss. In season 2 they had such a strong bond. I just hope they're mature about it instead of making it a love triangle situation if they do go there because Kie and Pope seem like they want to put their hookup behind them. There was always something there but I think JJ never acted on his feelings for Kie because he thinks he's trash and he can't offer her anything. Pope just went for it first.

Even the actors were surprised when pope & kie was made a thing in S2 cuz they thought something obviously was going to happen btw JJ & kie even back then. It's just now the writers saw just how invested the fans are they were willing to fully explore the ship. Even then they said in the very recent interview, they're gonna take it slow with the pair, take time to dive into their relationship fully. JJ & kie always had chemistry & a natural connection, they just fit better that I'm actually excited to see how they're gonna bring this ship to life.

The cast and creators seem very excited about them this season and Rudy and Madison are still friends and ship it as well. i may be wrong but i feel like since they heard about that whole thing about some toxic fans harassing the actors significant others a while back they started disliking the ship. don't get me wrong, the fanbase can be toxic when it comes to ships but the actors themselves don't necessarily hate the ship, maddison has talked numerous times about jj and kiara, even recently. the only ship she doesn't like is kiara and rafe. they just want fans to separate reality from fiction that's all.

It’s weird when ppl say JJ and Kie are forced or rushed. They had little moments in the first 2 seasons and John and Sara happened in a single episode whereas JJ and Kie happen in a single season.

it's fine and totally understandable if y'all don't want jj and kiara to be together, but maybe chill out on making everything about some rumours based on actors' personal lives. i like y'all's reactions to this show so much, but if we're gonna be bringing up things that you've seen from very biased fans that don't like jj/kiara...it'll just make it a little hard to watch is all, and you guys have such fun reactions. also, the majority of the jiara fandom from what i've seen (and i've been here from the start) are cool, fun people. not everyone who likes them care about who the actors are dating or whatever.

Kie felt bad for pope which is why she faked liked him an eventually told him they were just friends. Jj and Kiara have always like each other, they make it known in season 1. The unspoken chemistry is the best chemistry. And Rafe and Kiara use to be a thing which is JJ and Rafe don’t like each other Fr. Can’t wait for this season! And Kie tested all the boys to see which one she liked , it’s always been JJ ❤… I think she kissed John B to get back at Sarah tbh. Idk though. And Pope and Cleo are so cute and perfect for each other. I’m so excited for this season.

She thought she liked John B but tbh I think she was confused, Pope liked her, she felt bad for him so she pretended to like him baxk, that wasn’t working so she told him “ we should just be friends” and JJ and Kie have always been endgame. Nothing was ever forced. Look back at the seasons, the writers made it so clear that it was always them ❤

lol kie and jj aren’t forced. jj has liked kie since season 1 and they were hinting to us that they were gonna be together. imo this is the reason i’m watching the show jus bc of jiara! you guys should rewatch the show to see how jj has always liked kie and kie was falling for him.

Idk man i gotta say - respecting everyone's opinion but i think it's worth discussing - as someone that just watched all of outer banks, i think that seeing JJ & Kiara as out of nowhere but John B & Sarah not is a matter of... What you consider romance in writing. Because John B and Sarah pretty much started interacting in ONE episode and that was the same episode they fell on love (back on s1). And I gotta be honest, it felt rushed as heck to me. Like sure, they're the canon couple of the show but they didn't even give me time for actually want them to get together.
So... Some people like the slow burn before the two characters actually say the words or even realize they're in love so that's why people like JJ & Kiara. I think the writers were kind of all over the place with Pope & Kie and even John B & Kie cause it was the same format they did with John and Sarah, there was very little build up, the feelings were already there and being acted upon. But they took the opportunity to see what they had with JJ & Kie and they actually seem to be going on that direction on a semi slow burn fashion. So I feel the show has couples for all tastes, it would be boring to have the same format for every couple imo.
Sarah and John B scenes this season are not going to hit the same to me because THE ACTORS BROKE UP. it must be so awkward 😭 anyways I’m looking foreword to your outer banks, umbrella academy, and spn reactions. Keep up the great work!

While I can accept that JJ and Kiara isn’t forced, the thing that bugs me the most about Jiara is the fact that if they’ve had this planned, why did she also have to kiss John B and Pope? It really cheapens the friendship for me and further strengthens that stereotype that girls can’t be a part of a male friend group without being with all of them in some way.
Kie and jj makes perfect sense she has had more chemistry with him from the start than pope or John B, she doesn’t have too be with any of them but if she was to be with anyone jj makes the most sense and in the real world if your around 3 boys none stop and build a chemistry with them it’s natural for a teen girl to like one of them tbh

I think Pope and Kiara was forced. feel like jj and kiara wasn't forced, because they've had chemistry since season 1. Especially when she asked John B if he told JJ about the kiss, or like all the times it pans to JJ's face after she had a moment with John B or Pope.
Season three is not the last season because they said they would probably do 4 or 5 seasons
