So many varieties to add to my wish list. I've been experimenting with cheap Belgian mums for the last 2 years to see where mums like to grow in my garden before investing in heirloom mums. I watched a video tour of the Longwood Chrysanthemum Festival last year & OMG! I've always loved Chrysanthemums but that took it to a whole other level.
I had no idea that there were so many mum varieties. I don't think I could have chosen just one favorite. Sorry I couldn't go this year--maybe next--so thanks for sharing.
Hi Kate, Absolutely gorgeous! I am going to be looking around Southeastern Pennsylvania for where to purchase heirlooms in the spring. Thank you for sharing ❣️
I am growing two heirloom mums (my first two of many… I hope) and my goal is to grow the large white heirloom mums because that is what my grandmother’s wedding bouquet was made out of in 1936. Thank you for encouraging us to grow what brings us joy. 🌻
@ You’re so sweet to reply! I’m growing Homecoming and Crimson City. I was able to make flower arrangements for my niece’s baby shower (this past weekend) with the Homecoming mums (they were a big hit). The Crimson City hasn’t bloomed yet. I’ve fallen head first into the mum-universe. Ha! I’m also going to attend my first mum show in a couple of weeks, here is Arizona, to see what I can learn. 🌵❤️
Watching you rave about them all cracked me up. When my girlfriend and I went we had the same reaction to all of it. My postcard for the sale had a pretty substantial list of those that I hope will be available in April.
I had to do 3 laps to choose my favorite, too! So hard! I went with my husband, and we knew you had arrived as soon as we heard your gasp when you walked in. LOL! You have the best gasps! I didn't want to interrupt your filming, so I didn't say hi. Enjoying your channel, though!
Oh you totally should’ve said hello!!! I love meeting people when I’m out and about. If you are coming to the NW Flower and Garden Festival and see me, you need to promise me you’ll say “hello”. ☺️ and I’m dying to know… what did you choose?!? I feel like I panic selected at the end. 🫣
@@HelloGardenI was wondering if you would be attending the Northwest Flower and Garden Show. 🤗. Met you last year. Can’t wait to see what you have in store for us this year.
Those are amazing 😍. The big white ball shaped ones remind me of football game day here in Nebraska. They used to hand out the huge white mum with a red N in the middle, usually made out of pipe cleaners or felt. Go Big Red, Nebraska Cornhuskers
I just rescued some mums from a pile of leaves someone left up for the municipal compost collection. Idk if they'll come back next year but I'm hopeful.
These are soooo gorgeous!! Thank you for introducing me to these beautiful chrysanthemums. I thought dahlias were the most amazing flowers … after bearded irises. Question … do they require a special sauce to look like that or is that their natural form ?
I clicked on the time stamp and it took me to the Chrysanthemum show video... I didn't grab the name of that crazy gorgeous cactus! Isn't it incredible? If you're asking about the flower at 16:26 in my "Putting the garden to bed" video... that is Heather James and she is gorg.
I really wanted to go to that after you mentioned it in your last video but I already had plans this past weekend. I haven’t been to Volunteer Park in decades. I lived up on Capitol Hill for awhile when I was in college and a live in nanny. I had my own apt in one of the mansions up there. I would bring the girls I babysat up to Volunteer Park to play. I’ve been in the conservatory many times. ❤❤❤
Just fabulous! Thank you!!!

Oh I haven’t even seen that video! Down the rabbit hole I go… 🤣
Those are gorgeous! Thanks for sharing:)
Oooooooook now I need to add heirloom mums to the stash ahem I mean wishlist ❤😍
I love mums! Impossible to choose a favorite imho
Lava is on fire! 🔥 🔥🔥😍🧡😍
Lava. I have GOT to get my hands on that cutting in the spring. It’s so good!
Hi Kate 🌺.What a beauty of these chrysanthemums they look amazing . Have a great day .🌺🌻🌺
I’m so glad you enjoyed them! The people who grow these flowers are so gifted. 🌼

Thank you for letting us join you ❤
Wouldn’t have it any other way! 🥰
I so love how you’re drawn to the colors that are not always the popular ones!!! I am right with you Kate!!! I love flowers to have an earth tone!!!
Yes! It’s so so good. Glad to have some friends in my earth tone color camp. ☺️

I read this and was totally blown away… what a dreamy bouquet! What two are you growing?

Who knew these could be so cool!
❤
I was so blown away and the ECA people were so kind! I can’t wait for their cutting sale in the spring.
I love spending time with you!❤❤
I love being able to take you to all these amazing places! Thanks for coming on my field trip. ☺️
This was so cool to see. Isn’t nature just AMAZING???
Nature is BANANAS! It was such a fun way to slow down and I got to enjoy flowers I’ve never seen before!
Watching you rave about them all cracked me up. When my girlfriend and I went we had the same reaction to all of it. My postcard for the sale had a pretty substantial list of those that I hope will be available in April.
Me too! My photo roll was chock full of favorites. I even want to try growing one of those crazy giant ones!
I had to do 3 laps to choose my favorite, too! So hard!

@@HelloGarden Deal! I chose Pink Splendor. I just really liked the color and spidery shape. It would look great in my garden.

What fun! Thanks Kate!
Thanks Kate! I went on Sunday and was blown away at some of the blooms!
I’m so sorry I missed you! I love meeting people “in the wild”. Wasn’t it so fun?!? Did you choose a favorite variety? Spill the tea!
I especially liked Mocha and Lava. I wrote alot of names on the postcard that they will mail.
Hehe I'm getting so envious ! I loooooove the bigger ones !

Some of those blooms remind me of sea anemones with all those petals. thanks for the tour!
You nailed it. The giant ones totally look like sea creatures! Thanks for coming along! 🪴

Exelente y hermoso saludos desde Cusco Perú
Muchisima gracias, mi amiga! Saludos desde Seattle! 😊
Kate, will the mums winter over for you or do you have to take cuttings
Omg where can we buy these? Wow!!!
WOW WOW WOW!!! What is the name of that beauty at 16:26??? That is stunning!

@@HelloGarden It was the cactus - AMAZING!!! Also, the Heather James is a stunner, too!
I think Ghengis Khan was mislabeled. Pretty sure that should be named "Bedhead" 😂 Such cool formations!
Ha ha ha! Right?!? And you know I need a cutting of that now. It made the short list.

How can you choose ? 🤩🤩🤩
It was impossible. Even editing the video I was wavering between all my favorites!
