Thank you for sharing all the information. I love that you and your friend are teaching these young students all crafts. I believe creativity belongs in everyone's life. I don't know what I would do without crafts. Can't wait for your next flosstube.
How lucky your students are! In cleaning out some storage this month I found a box of my quilling supplies from Girl Scouts in the 70’s! Crafting will last a lifetime for your kids❤.
Thank you for another nice video. It‘s the best to start on a Monday morning with a cup of tea and my sockknitting project. Wish you a lot of fun at the stitching retreat.
I love the idea of your girls club and that you are teaching them the arts of handiwork. You are creating a life long love of any kind of stitching for these girls. They are lucky to have you two sharing your talents. Now that I am retired I wonder what would I do with my days if I did not stitch, quilts, embroidery or read. I can only clean my house so much. LOL
You will be busy with 17 SALs but it is all about what brings us joy. Love seeing your student's projects. Kuddos on starting hopefully a life long love of crafting. I made my first Wipper Keeper, next one I will include a thread bed. So clever. Thanks for a great video and enjoy your retreat.
I love watching your videos, every time you get more and more comfortable with filming and let yourself shine! Your stitching and wippa kippers are beautiful!
Stephanie, your exuberance for your stitching is so infectious! I don’t think it matters how many WIP’s or SAL’s you have going, as long as it makes you so happy! The elephant quilt is so pretty! I sat admiring it while watching your video! What you are doing with your girls club is so fantastic! I enjoyed seeing the photos you put in showing them stitching! I am so happy that you found the sewing machines, and supplies that had long been forgotten and will be putting these resources to good use! I hope your school administrators are paying attention to this wonderful thing you and your fellow teacher are doing to teach these girls! Keep up the good work!
Great flosstube, Stephanie! Happy Birthday and have fun in Maine! I too am working on Spring Quaker while watching your video 💜😊 🤙🏻. I love your fabric and thread choice, beautiful!
Tis the season of SALS!! I love that you are teaching your students to stitch. As a retired 46 year stitcher, you have inspired me to approach our local school and offer the girls here the same opportunity! 😊
I still remember learning to stitch when I was 9 years old as an after school activity with a small group of other girls. It made such a huge impact on my life. I also had the opportunity to teach a group of 7 year old girls cross stitch in an after school group when I was in my early 20’s. I hope some of those girls are still stitching and have developed the same one for the craft that we all have. So happy to hear how your group is embracing stitching and I love that you are doing it ❤
Thank you so much for watching and sharing your story. I remember those teachers that took the extra time to teach me and make me feel special. I just hope that I do that for some children too. ❤️
Happy belated Birthday ! I hope you have the best time at retreat! I love your videos! Hear your voice and New England accent reminds me of home! I moved to Texas in 1981 and miss those New Englanders ! Your students are so lucky to have a teacher with such a happy personality! Hugs from Texas! Ps you can never have too many starts!
You need to quit hating on purple! 🤣 I love the fabric you're using for Spring Quaker!! Purple on purple!! Beautiful! Who knew Quakers could be such troublemakers!!! 😆
@@the_new_england_stitcher I’ll love on purple for you! You keep loving blue! You are so much fun to watch!! Your students are blessed to have you as a caring teacher! Thank you from a former teacher for the good work you are doing! Do you remember where you got the purple fabric? Enjoy the retreat!
I have a May B'day too might need to add one more to your SAL count - so excited to see you this weekend its going to be a blast - packing up the table gifts this morning, finishing up my smalls exchange, and picking my projects - lots to do on this day Patriots Day!
I really enjoyed your video. As a retired elementary school teacher, I have no clue how you can so cheerfully make a fun video on a Friday after teaching all week. When Friday rolled around I was practically comatose. I like all your projects. I don’t get along well with quaker patterns either. I messed up the Valentine one in the middle somewhere so when I got to the end, the border as charted wasn’t going to fit and there was no going back. So I made up a border on the right side. It looks fine but I was pretty disgusted with it for a bit. One piece of advice I will pass along that my bestie taught me. If you make a mistake, tell yourself you’ll never see it on a galloping horse. I tell myself that a lot. Sometimes it doesn’t always work but most of the time it does. Have a wonderful time at your retreat. It sounds like a lot of fun.
Congratulations on your retirement. As an elementary teacher you are to be commended, I couldn’t do that. I love your horse advice and I will remember it as I stitch and make mistakes which for me are inevitable. 😊 Thank you so much for watching. ❤️
@@the_new_england_stitcher I’ve been retired for eight years. I went so far down the cross stitching rabbit hole after having not stitched for about 20 years. I admire you for taking on middle school. I never could have done that.
Another wonderful video! I’ll be joining in on the Annie Beez Christmas stockings SAL. I didn’t catch who is hosting that SAL-can you share when you have a spare minute? Thank you so much for taking the time to share your creativity. I adore everything you’re working on. And I’m about to track down that “Get in Losers. . .” keychain because I have a bunch of friends to buy that for 😂. Enjoy your retreat!!
Just found you from Helen D’s Library Retreat video. Great first video for me. I absolutely loved the “whipper keeper” you made. I’d love to know if there is a pattern for this. I’ve been searching everywhere for something like this and BAM…You made one for a gift! Such an awesome gift, I know the work that goes into those little projects since I’m a quilter (way before I discovered cross stitching again). Stitchy love all the way down south from Arkansas. 💝
Welcome!! Thank you for stopping by. Unfortunately, I do not have a pattern for the Wippah keepah. Elizabeth Ann can stitch does a video tutorial on making a large version. Thank you for the stitchy love!❤️
You are an inspiration to your girls! I will be interested in your SAL for Serenity. I also was going to make a drum with it. But I never made a drum ( I always sent to a finisher). Maybe you will have to give lessons after SAL at Stitch New England.
I love that you are teaching students to cross stitch. Keep up the good work.

Stay as sweet, kind, busy and „wackadoodle“ as you are! Have a great retreat and break.
Thank you! Will do!
That’s a nice list of SALs! 😂 I thought I was the only one who joined everything. 🤣
Thank you for sharing your stitching. Love seeing the projects of your students. ❤❤

So much fun hearing about your WIP's and SAL's. It does make me feel a little better about my WIP situation, lol.

Sorry for hating on purple, I really don’t mean to. Even though they give me grief, I still love those quakers. ❤️

I'm doing the Bee Farm SAL. Also doing Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery Artic Animals starting May 9th and Nichol Spohr biscornu sal which started this week
Awesome! So glad to have another friend who likes Sals! 😊

That would be so much fun. I learned by watching Vonna and Helen D
I’m a lefty too!!! I turn my paper to write, not my hand. I write downward!
Hmm. I may have to watch you in action when we finally get to meet. ❤️
And I hope it’s soon!!!
Would you mind sharing the finished dimensions of your small and large portfolios?
