The first thing is you don't buy a car on credit.. You buy a car you can afford.. That means how much you saved up, NOT how much debt they will allow you to bury yourself in..!!!!
17seventySIX I'm paying off debt as quickly as I can...triple payments....We are facing global disasters that we cannot begin to imagine..Must do everything I can to prepare..and I know anything we do...will probably not be enough. But we do the best we can.
Reg, you mentioned before that you have no credit. Start building it. Go to the bank and borrow as much as you can for the car. Even if it's $500. Pay $50 a month and start building that credit. Paying it off earlier won't do any good for building credit. Get any credit card you can and use it. Don't abuse it and pay it off every month. How else will you ever get a home someday? Forgot about it.
Tyra Sullivan Sounds like you know Pikeville well. Looks like a pretty little "city" carved right out of the mountains? I spent my formative yrs in rural So. Maine, but have spent many yrs in and around the big city (Boston), so I was bitten by the country bug, but have gotten used to having SOME culture/restaurants/shopping, etc. I came to this video b/c the company I work for will be building a coal-to-liquids plant in the area, and I'm gonna be spending a lot of time down there, so am hopeful that Pikeville agrees w/ me.
+Mike S Pikeville really is a little "city" carved into the mountains. I think you'll like Pikeville. Granted; there isn't much to do, but it's a nice little place. Well, downtown and such is, but I wouldn't go any father out of Pikeville than I had to.
DEMCAD You seemed like you really liked Pikeville, but I know the economy is tough w/ the coal industry depressed there, so guessing not a lot of jobs in such a small city. I'm moving there (temporarily) for biz reasons, so thanks for the tour. Looks like a beautiful little city.
Interesting video, DEMCAD. Pikeville only has 6,900+ people in it. Add in the distant suburbs, and it might reach 9,000. It's a nice looking town. A college-town will always have a lot more going on in it, than just a regular small town. DEMCAD is doing the right thing in paying off his car, as quickly as possible. It's always good to stay out of debt, whenever possible.
John Boy well there has been quite a few businesses coming into the area but it is still going a bit slow and as for the people I think we are generally nice but of course their are shitty people everywhere. there are those who may not like you at first glance than their are those that once they like you they'd risk their life for you.
That looks very similar to a couple of towns I've been to, here in Australia. The architecture of the old brick buildings looks just the same. I haven't seen any ornate houses like that big white one, though.
I took a visit to UPIKE because I planned to attend. The area was so torn down and there were confederate flags everywhere. Not everyone was rude and not every place looked bad. I decided not to go because I wouldn't feel safe there.
Because people have confederate flags means crap dude, you assume to much, I have a confederate flag and two black blood cousins, who also like confederate flags, and a gay pride town aswell.
That looks like a nice town. How are the people? I live in an expensive large city and I dream about retiring to a couple hundred acres near a small town.
ArcanusLibero I think we're pretty nice in pikeville kentucky though you'll find shitty people here like any other place. if you do want to move to a rural area I advise you find a way to visit one a month or two because a lot of people move to get away from the big cities only to find that it's too quite and time almost stands still here.
Lu Hoffma it is a very small town, since it doesn't waste gas much most people drive place to place but of course you find more walkers around lunch time or off work hours.
Demcad, out of all those people how many you think are prepping/prepared once SHTF? Whether is a grid power failure, gun confiscation, marshal law, weather diaster. Also what are you prepping for>
Went to college right next to the park nice little place be wiped off the map soon because of coal plant closing more coal jobs will be lost and it will hurt everyone.
Josh Slone yeah I always tell people here in ky that I don't support coal I support the coal miner, if we could bring in jobs with equal pay and entry levels I believe ky wouldn't fight as much for coal but we are proud people who knows what the coal industry has created for our state. another reason we aren't creating a safety net to protect us from the coal issue is because we can't seem to get Mitch out of office.
Im from Pikeville i had to move away because the coal mines shut down under obamas EPA overreach We need coal mines to create flat land to build on and jobs.
Meanwhile, they're talking about the uploader on the Pikeville forums, and not in a very flattering way. I'm guessing the uploader is a bit mentally imbalanced. The place is an incredible shithole, there's little to nothing there, and his videos are repeating because there's nothing there. And this lunatic is armed, which is the insane part about it.
Proud to say this is my Appalachian home town and I graduated from Pikeville College as it was called then in 1985!
I’m in Pikeville like 5 minutes away from this beautiful place
that's where my sister is from! it's also the famous place of the hatfields vs the mccoys.
Wow what a picturesque little town. Love it. Thanks for the vid Demcad
I live in this town and it’s gorgeous!
What do the "poor", "middle class" & "rich" areas of Pikeville look like?
If you have an email I’ll email you some pictures, but mostly middle class making 12-30k a year and highest is 100k
the highest is actually 700k thousand dollars

There are 99 steps going up that hill at the college. So much has changed since I moved away from there.
The US Army had a policy of preventive maintenance. We have a Hampton Inn here in Columbia, South Carolina.
The first thing is you don't buy a car on credit.. You buy a car you can afford.. That means how much you saved up, NOT how much debt they will allow you to bury yourself in..!!!!
17seventySIX Well, my van broke down and I was tired of wasting money on repairs.
DEMCAD Welcome to small town USA. It was the same when I lived in Macon, GA. Headline news would be a car fire or water main break.
DEMCAD Curious; how many people in Pikeville look like you?
***** Meh. Macon is alright in size compared to other cities in GA. Pretty much everything south of Atlanta is small town, save places like Savannah.
17seventySIX I'm paying off debt as quickly as I can...triple payments....We are facing global disasters that we cannot begin to imagine..Must do everything I can to prepare..and I know anything we do...will probably not be enough. But we do the best we can.
Demcad if possible you should explore downtown Savannah Georgia. You would luv it.
***** Truth. Historic all day long. You'll find some creepy cemeteries as well.
Love it there. We go often. Charleston too.
Great show, DEMCAD. Thank you.

??? u americans ??? lol
I bet they have an active masonic lodge. They usually have beautiful older buildings in downtown.
They do! It's in lower downtown.

@@tyrasullivan6485 Tyra?
If you had a job paying the same in flint and pike where would you rather live ??
TheIrcbully Flint. But I would rather live in Cincinnati, Indianapolis, Nashville or Denver.
DEMCAD friend of mine moved to Denver few years ago.. He has since moved on... Nice little Town ! Thanks..
DEMCAD Columbus is way better than Cinci
DEMCAD You seemed like you really liked Pikeville, but I know the economy is tough w/ the coal industry depressed there, so guessing not a lot of jobs in such a small city. I'm moving there (temporarily) for biz reasons, so thanks for the tour. Looks like a beautiful little city.
Hey buddy, nice to see footage from a local town! I'm right over here in Breathitt County!
100 steps up to college train pike co tourism

***** Drugs are a very big problem here, but I've met some very generous people in and around Pikeville.
Looks like a fairly clean area...
PART TIME PREPPERS Looks like a ghost town.. Although this could have been in the morning on a Sunday.
kendawg44 yeah you get more people in the evening but most people prefer to drive and those who mostly walk the streets are business people.
You'd be wrong I live here and theirs alot of drug addicts
You're wrong my friend.
You're right my friend.
I live in Butler, KY.I was wondering what part of KY is Pikeville,I never even heard of it.
mikejlinton1 You live in Northern Kentucky.
Yea! about 30 miles south of cincinnati.
Pikeville is in pike county - the point on the boarder over by Virginia
Nice country over there.
Hey Demcad, you are only 2 hours away from Winchester, Kentucky, where they have nature/survival classes at 'Nature Reliance School'.
Pikeville looks like a very clean little town....What is the main industry there ?
How are the people there ?
John Boy well there has been quite a few businesses coming into the area but it is still going a bit slow and as for the people I think we are generally nice but of course their are shitty people everywhere. there are those who may not like you at first glance than their are those that once they like you they'd risk their life for you.
Coal at one point had a HUGE influence on this town but yes it is a great place people are extremely nice most the time
What is pikeville like ? Does anyone have any videos on brushy road area ?
its a very good place to live not a lot of people to bother you not much happens so i love it here
Hey I stay at that Hampton every year when I'm there working! Cool!
I think it looks lovely Reg.
Thanks Reggie.
We enjoy your videos over here in San Diego.
Stop by and visit if you ever come here.
Cool. What if SHTF while in Pikeville? How would Pikeville react?
That looks very similar to a couple of towns I've been to, here in Australia. The architecture of the old brick buildings looks just the same. I haven't seen any ornate houses like that big white one, though.

Good advice for anyone who plans to move.
Sweet mountains! In Houston, we consider speed bumps to be hills.
Looks like a nice, quaint town. Sounds like you have a good plan too.
Pikeville looks like a well developed town for a small town in eastern KY.
Looks like a nice place to live Demcad. I might have to move the family out there from California. Drought here( manmade?) Is getting unbearable.
Did u ever move
where are the people walking on the streets?
Lu Hoffma it is a very small town, since it doesn't waste gas much most people drive place to place but of course you find more walkers around lunch time or off work hours.
morrius07
Walkers! :-o You mean the zombie apocalypse has started? ;-p
jublywubly yeah but the whole craving for brains thing is just a myth, all they really crave around here are McDonald's and KFC. lol
morrius07
Damn, I was hoping for an escape from my daily drudgery.
morrius07 What do people do for entertainment in such a 1 horse town? Is there a movie theater, upscale restaurants, mall, etc?
Demcad, out of all those people how many you think are prepping/prepared once SHTF? Whether is a grid power failure, gun confiscation, marshal law, weather diaster. Also what are you prepping for>
How is the supply of women there?
chessloser28 I didn't move to Eastern Kentucky for women. I moved for a job.
DEMCAD @2015
And your nice lulu Hogg’s (fat but nice) and good people
Good video Reggie!
Its realy nice out in Chicago i live in born in Chicago

do you have a selfie stick ?
Why not Chicago
they are building a other part of the college there for if you want to be an eye doctor
Better then the streets of Flint, right?
I have been to both, and Pikeville and streets of flint aren’t even close to the same!
It seens like a nice place to me.
Look like a nice lil town. I'm posting from San Diego as well
Nice
Im from Pikeville i had to move away because the coal mines shut down under obamas EPA overreach

Poor people?
No not "poor people" I life there and that's not nearly the whole Pikeville town. There are a lot more parts then right there
