VICTORIA'S VICTORIOUS VOCAL EXERCISE PROGRAM - a different kind of singing program! SUPER AFFORDABLE! MORE INFO & ORDER HERE: www.healthyvocaltechnique.com/order-victorias-victorious-vocal-exercise-program/
Hi Victoria! I’m so happy that I found you today. I took voice lessons for years as a child up into high school. I performed in the church choir the local children’s choir and local theater. Then I got into bad singing habits and I think I stressed my voice out. I was always a first soprano. However, as the years went on I lost my range. This is very frustrating because as an elementary school teacher I need to sing children’s songs and it’s extremely difficult now. As a young girl when people would tell me that I had a good voice I didn’t really know what that meant because it came so easy, but now that I’m older and it’s now difficult to sing songs that I used to sing so easily, I understand what people meant. I have one of those cases of “don’t know what you got till it’s gone”. You brought back a little bit of encouragement in me that I can regain my range if I stick with it. Thank you for that!
Thank you I saw that you had replied but I was in the middle of recording I will be enrolling in that course later today or at the latest tomorrow once again thank you for your help thank you. Woodrow Wilson
I really want to thank you. All these questions used to have affirmative answers but not anymore. I am getting better at not "singing AT" the people. Because there's traffic all around then I do usually have to sing loud and strong, but I've found a sweet spot that isn't too loud, but comfortable for both me and onlookers.
Hi Azia! Working with damaged voices is not my area of expertise. I have videos on how to prevent damage or return to singing after being sick. I recommend working with your ENT dr (preferably a laryngologist) and a speech pathologist (and even better if you can find one who works with singers).
All of these are good points to think about. At first, I was going to say I thought the focus on breathing was my favorite because it seems to me good breath support makes it easy (or at least easier) to avoid the treacherous tightening throat, to sing loud or soft, to articulate vowels and keep the voice 'in the mask.' Or at least feel the sensations in my face that seem to accompany my better tones. However, on reflection, I think I like the repertoire question too. Avoiding the 'higher and louder are better' school of tenor singing can allow a better tone throughout and smoother, more agile, more controlled, singing. Opera voice and Perry Como smoothness. Sort of. A ringing B4 sounds better and just as thrilling as a squeezed C5. IMHO. (On the other hand, if you're Franco Corelli...)
Hello Maam, I recently just found your channel in the hopes of figuring out what is wrong with my current voice. For background, I am currently 21 years old and have been singing my whole life since I was about five. I am a male tenor, with a well developed mixed-voice and falseto. These two are my favorite registers to use because they allow me to hit high notes without using much force. However, recently about a month ago, after being infected with a sinus infection, I noticed changes in my voice. I get vocal fatigue so easily after singing JUST ONE song. This never happens to me before. I used to sing a hundred songs in a row, and my voice would just be slightly strained at the end(okay maybe this is exaggerating). Also, I noticed difficulty in shifting between registers, most especially my mixed and falseto. When I go from a chest voice to mixed, a hoarse, rough sound comes out. And then after a while I can feel a "pinch" at the back of my throat, almost like something is stuck back there. I seriously do not what had happened to my voice. Maybe this is the effect of the sinus infection I had? But it's been a month already, how come my voice hasn't healed. I'm just scared that I've damaged my voice permanently. Singing means the whole world to me, and to lose my singing voice...I'm gonna go insane. Maam, I hope you can see this and possibly give me some tips. Thank you for your time! Best wishes🙏🏻💕
Hi, Vyeron. I recommend that you see an ENT dr (preferably a laryngologist) to have your vocal folds examined. I wish you well and hope that you heal quickly.
Hello! Thank you for your videos, they are extremely helpful and fun to watch! I have this weird problem that's terribly annoying and I can't get better at singing if I don't get rid of it, so I would really appreciate your help. I have a tension that starts just under my ears, right behind the jaw, and it goes to the sides of my tongue and lower to the larynx. It feels like my throat is *too* open, a little like a deep yawn, and I can only sing very weakly, breathily and "heady" because of it. I have no idea what causes this tension (tongue? larynx?) and can't control it, it happens by itself even when I talk, it's such a strong habit now. Do you maybe know what this problem is and how to fix it?
If it happens when you speak too, I would see a speech pathologist. I'm afraid that is beyond my expertise as a voice (singing) teacher. I'm happy that you like my videos so much!
@@Victoria-Victorious I did see a speech pathologist, she was no help at all... I mostly have this problem after singing, it goes into speaking for some time after that, then it goes away after I rest. Anyway, thank you for the answer! Maybe I'll figure out how to get rid of it by myself
Hello, Victoria Thank you for responding so promptly to my brief note on you’re utube post yesterday, It was really appreciated. Have you any idea as to when your video singing lessons will be getting released? as I believe that would be the one that I would get the most from in the meantime though I would really appreciate any suggestion as to which course of yours I could be enrolling in now that might help me in my advancement. Once again thank you very much. I tend to sing mainly soul, pop & reggae numbers Woodrow Wilson
Hi Woody! I do not have an additional video training program coming out. I teach through my free UA-cam videos and offer my audio program (super affordable) to apply the technique! ☺️
Thank u so much ❤️ your lessons are very helpful for me. But when I try to hit the high notes my voice slides directly in falsetto and my whistle register. I am very comfortable in whistle register but I am lacking a lot to hit other High notes. I will be thankful if u can tell me that what mistake I am doing 🙏
Hello ! Interesting video ! I’ve been singing professionally for 4 years now most weekend singing 2/3 hours each time (70) songs most weekends I’m not starting too feel the effects with my voice starting to break ok songs which usually would be fine for me! I drink loads of water I have few days off midweek before my gigs start at the weekend again but really struggling too hit those falsetto blending notes now my higher register is feeling extremely weak! Help!!
I cannot tell without seeing and hearing you. I recommend that you see my playlists on Throat Tension and also Better High Notes. Also, if you have not mastered Breath Support, see that playlist too!
Yes, I do, but I have quite a long waitlist. If you are interested, please send me a note through my website. www.healthyvocaltechnique.com/get-started-today/
I live alone and don't speak for weeks at a time. I think I will lose the ability to speak if I don't exercise my vocal cords. do you have an exercise I could use to maintain my speaking voice? or am I wrong in thinking this? love your channel.
Hello! Nice to meet you! A lot of the exercises in my Beginner Playlist start with speech for ease and freedom. Also, a lot of singers find their speaking voices improve as their singing improves by applying some (not all) of the principles. Good afternoon Victoria: firstly i would like to thank you for all the little nuggets of wisdom that I have picked up from your videos they have helped me a great deal since i first discovered your channel on utube. I have never had a vocal lesson in my life but yet I've been singing since i was a small child & from the age of 20 I've been earning a living as a singer singing covers but as I've been getting older i find that I'm now loosing part of my range particular in my higher register so i am wondering if you might be able to help me is there one or several of you courses that i could take that might be able to help me rectify this? I would like to enroll in your class but am not sure which ones i should in-role for hence your help and guidance would be greatly appreciated once again i would like to thank you. You are a great educator i wish i knew someone like you when i was much younger Thank you. woody.Uk
Hi Woody, I am so happy that my videos are helping you so much! In answer to your question about my audio exercise training program, each program covers 2 1/2 octaves in range. If singers are not sure of their voice type, I recommend ordering alto/mezzo-soprano for women and bass/baritone for men, especially for beginners. That is for lower to medium voice types, so unless you consider your voice to be high, this should work. If not, you have 30 days to switch to the higher voice category. I also do group classes regularly for members.
Victoria i have a question. If my voice is very tired is one week enough to feel better. I think ive been pushing my tired voice for 2 months now.. i hope it isnt permanent
The general rule is that if a change like this lasts for more than 2 weeks, you should be examined by an ENT doctor, preferably a laryngologist, to be safe.
