I met Joe Bridi many years ago at a airfield in Los Angeles. We talked about model aviation and the Kaos in general. He said, in spite of all the planes he designed, he was always known as the "The Kaos Man".
Wow that would have been fantastic to talk to one of the great designers from that era he designed quite a few great airplanes I personally love the structural strength and simplicity of his designs.
Great video, that Kaos in red looks great! Last winter I scratch built a super Kaos but lost it in the bush on its maiden in the spring of 2022. Couldn’t find it until the fall when all the leaves were off the trees. But by then from all of the summer rain the plane was turned to mush. I did get the motor and receiver out OK. I might get a kit from Old School in the future to replace it. Keep up the great work on the videos, I’m really enjoying this format that you are doing now. Long live the glow engine!!!
There's nothing that flies like a Kaos. With all that inverted flight.....well, that's just showing off. lol. A great plane flown by a talented pilot. Doesn't get any better. Keep the videos coming, and thanks for promoting the hobby.
I built a Kaos in 1985. HP .40 engine, stupid Kraft radio. I had the ailerons connected wrong and didn't catch it, "dot" servo versus "non-dot", there was no servo reversing on this antique radio. It took off, but I lost control and smashed it up. It was repairable, but I was in college and didn't have the time so I sold the broken airframe to another student on the cheap and he put it in the air. I guess if flew very nicely. Cool video!
I was wondering when you guys were going to build one of these!! Love to see more of the classic Bridi designs re-kitted. The Kaos is a great start! Thank you for the video.
Yes, I agree, its a breath of fresh air for the hobby. We have built ALOT in the past few years, and have done very few videos. Alot of catch up to do.
Very well flown by the pilot and such a terrific plane to fly. Brilliant landing also. A friend of mine is selling a brand new in the box Kaos 60 arf. I'm tempted to buy it. Many thanks for sharing.
I still have my bridie kaos 60 original. It's done in silk and dope with a k&b 60 on it. It's close to 50 yrs old and still looks and flys great. Love the .40 kaos also... wonderful job you've done!!
I've built two of Mark's kits. The Fifty Six is a sweet flyer. I made mine a tail dragger and it is presently on skis, OS 40FP. The only issue I have is he kind of went overboard trying to keep it light and the wood is pretty soft, but when you build it yourself you get to beef it up. That Kaos is sweet!!! Thanks guys, keep 'em coming.
Thanks Robert, always happy to see your feedback on our channel. The beauty of Kit building (and of course having some spare wood around) is the ability to make it your own! Thanks for the comment fella!
I was looking at this kit this morning and your video came up. I have a HB 61 in a box, what prop are you running? I wish you guys would make a come back. I have alway enjoyed watching what you do!!
It was a pdp we have just recently replaced it with an os 65AX just a little smoother and a little more snort. We still love our hb engines thanks for the comment
Great video. Please consider building a classic from the early 90s, the Midwest SuperHots. Fast to build, awesome looking airplane and super performance.
Nice! She comes in kind of hot! Do you remember if the ailerons were built separately, or were cut out? I fly off of a pretty short field with trees on both approaches. A set of flaps would help a lot.
We are running an hb 61 the ideal prop for this engine is an 11-7 some of the newer os engines will swing much larger props for example my os 46AXs love the 11-7 prop as well. I guess it would be what you’re engine will run the best with. What engine are you using?
From an old guy, sure enjoying the old school model works vidoes.
Thanks a lot! We enjoy your comment!
The Kaos was an awesome plane. I always wanted to build one but settled for a Sig Mid Star 40 with a Webra .61 instead.

Fantastic engine. Mine always ran well with 11-7 or 12-6
Thanks for the comment!
Joe Bridi's name is pronounced "bree-dee."
what are you guys currently building? you should do a full behold series start to finish
Currently working on an Adrenalin Plus (yes, thats the spelling lol) from RCM
@@mbmrc5241 nice can’t wait to see it ripping holes in the sky
Great review! You did a good job representing the model as a classic pattern airplane.
