    Let's go get stoned
    Let's go get stoned
When your baby won't let you in
Got a few pennies, a bottle of gin
Just call your buddy on the telephone
    Let's go get stoned
    Let's go get stoned
    Let's go get stoned
When you work so hard all the day long
And everything you do seems to go wrong
Just drop by my place on your way home
    Let's go get stoned
    It ain't no harm
    You're takin just a taste
    But don't blow your cool
and start messing up the place
It ain't no harm you're faking just a nip
But make sure you don't fall down bust your lip
    Let's go get stoned
    Let's go get stoned

Lots of people thought Joe was insulting mentally challenged people when he preformed. But he wasn't that is just the way he moves. I honestly thinks its amazing when you know an artists loves music so much he can't contain themselves when they play, thats how you know their a true musician. Love you Joe Cocker.

I'm turning 72 in 3 weeks and my 18 year old grandson and I just talked about getting together, with peace+love+music and getting high. We aren't talking about getting wasted or falling down drunk, but about having a fun time in a community of people who share the same beliefs. Peace. Love. Music. High times that enlighten our Spirit. It was profound then and his generation is seeking the same profound times NOW. Full circle...☮️✌🏼👍🏼

      James Fiala
He drinks a lot and at 70 years of age, still works 6 days a week. He's a hard man but a good man. Didnt really understand that when I was a kid. I'm 40 ( ish ;) ) now and we have a great relationship. He doesnt smoke or do other drugs now but by GOD does he have some hilarious stories and he knew exactly how to fuck with my brother and I when we came home tripping out lol. Every now and then I can tell he hasn't 100% been able to leave Vietnam behind but at the same time he has a lot of Woodstock still in him, if that makes sense. He's a complicated guy but if I'm honest he's every bit a hero to me. Not that he'd ever let me say that.
When I left for Iraq and Afghanistan he was pretty quiet about it, told me when I got home that he considered talking me out of it. Although I did see some combat in Afghanistan I have no doubt that it was nowhere near the same kind of thing he went through. He's enjoying being a grandfather now I think. I know you didnt really ask for *THIS* much info but I felt like talking about a man I have more respect for than anyone else on the planet and havnt really spoken about it till now.
Cheers mate, Have a good one.

+Jill clark baby girl a LOT of us woke up old in '15 but weren't we lucky to have been there in a moment that tried to define our generation - to SNATCH that definition away from the winds of a war in Asia that slaughtered our young men, women (and yes thousands of innocent canines that we just left behind when we ran) and for what? So men like John Kennedy (our own "special" war lord who sent Army Rangers in to S. Vietnam to "train" them - sound familiar?), Robert McNamara lathering at the bit to condemn 200,000 young men to die, Johnson, too chicken to countermand (even post-mortem) Kennedy's plans, Nixon, Kissinger, David Kennedy, Schlesinger and their ilk could find a place in history? I'll bet there are more people alive today who can name Joe Cocker and 10 songs he did - no better than that -- can name 10 bands or individuals who played Woodstock AND 10 each of their songs than can name just ONE secretary of defense from '64 to '75 or could tell you the timeline - the long timeline of our political intervention into SE Asia. I think Woodstock was so much more than a "protest" or a cry of a generation for peace - it was our generation's attempt to redefine the blood red paint our politicians tried to paint us with ....

Of the many acts that performed at Woodstock 69, I imagine there were many that went onstage high as kites. But Joe Cocker is one of the few that was obvious about it. Brilliant performance.

Saw this guy about 10 years ago. My mom forced me to go to his concert. Watching this now, at the time he was probably 4 years older than i am currently, he was an old man when i saw him and i didn't appreciate it cuz i was 14 years old. His voice here, was so natural, so beautiful, sounds like a recording, no effort needed! RIP dude, I'll miss you. With little help from my friends. I listened to that song in seventh grade from the bus ride to school on my ipod shuffle!
