Just one of the great rock songs of all time. They never had more swagger than on "Jumpin' Jack Flash". This was the opening statement of the Stones imperial period.
Now we're talking...This is the great transition, where they transcend their influences and alchemize what became, for a time, the greatest rock and roll band. Belatedly but accurately realizing they had little to offer the hippies, and with the absolutely transformative meeting of Jimmy Miller, they went, from 68-to roughly 72 to become The World's Greatest etc. This single let everyone know they had a new sound, and Beggar's Banquet (although it didn't include-or need-this song) laid it out for the first time in album length. The riff, the recording itself, the tone of the vocals, the swag and sway is and are their very essence. (A wholly inappropriate cousin to this song, the deliciously filthy 'Stray Cat Blues' is a hidden gem on Beggars). They were a great 60's band for many reasons, and their place there in history is secured. However, this is where their mojo matured, and I'm glad you're here!
I genuinely think 1967-1972 Rolling Stones is the greatest "rock" band ever. There are bands that I technically enjoy more, but Jesus Christ they were on fire during that era
The driving rhythm of this song is uplifting for sure. "Tumbling Dice" is another classic (also covered by Linda Ronstadt). Thanks for your thoughts about the Stones - interesting discussion!
Gosh, this brings back memories, I danced to this song many times over the years, such a great vibe and a wonderful riff. One of my favourites - other 1960s Stones songs that I love are The Last Time, It's All Over Now and Street Fighting Man. Thanks so much for reacting to this fab song, guys, really good reaction as always, so glad you enjoyed it, take care and all the best. PS Congratulations on 40k plus subscribers!
This is so PUNK!! JJF always encompassed the Stones attitude - for me. I've seen them twice live- both times in outdoor stadiums-- and to hear them play the first few notes of JJF is beyond exciting🥳🤯
Finally!!! 🤷🏻♂️ That’s why they’re called the world’s greatest rock band and no one really argues with it. Any one of these next: Street Fighting Man, Tumbling Dice, Honky Tonk Women.
@@SpaceCattttt As Bob Dylan said, “Everything that came after them, metal, rap, punk, new wave, pop-rock, you name it… you can trace it all back to the Rolling Stones,” it’s a reflection of the band’s lasting imprint on the most precious parts of music. “They were the first and the last and no one’s ever done it better.” Bob would know more than you. And, even if you disagreed with him, he’d laugh at you and ask what you accomplished.
I love these guys . “Ruby Tuesday” is one of my favorite songs by the Stones. I grew up with this amazing music! Linda Ronstadt does a blistering cover of their song “Tumbling Dice”
Yes they do Patrick .. always good vibes. Thank y'all for getting back to The Rolling Stones!! MY #1 Britain Band 👍🏼 One of my faves from their catalog. Any Stones you play ..I'm here!! Thnx George & Patrick .. Peace Out ☮️🤘🏼😊
According to Bill Wyman, the lad at the top who used to be the bass player for the Stones, it was Brian Jones who came up with the riff that you hear in this song. A classic with that driving rhythm so characteristic of the Rolling Stones.
It's the attitude in this song that gets me, puts energy on you, perfect before a night out with the boys or in the changing room just before going out for the big game.
The Rolling Stones are considered the bad boys of rock & roll. I grew up with their early stuff. My favorite era of The Rolling Stones is from the 60's British Invasion. I loved the "Flowers" album. They had a lot of great early hits such as "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction", "Get Off of My Cloud", "Paint It Black", "Ruby Tuesday", "Let's Spend the Night Together", "Jumpin' Jack Flash", "Honky Tonk Women", "You Can't Always Get What You Want", "Gimme Shelter", "Tumbling Dice" & "Brown Sugar".
My parents' music!! I grew up hearing the Stones in the house. Also Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Three Dog Night, David Bowie, Fleetwood Mac, and the powerhouse Nazareth. I was always destined to love classic rock with an upbringing like that.
Rolling Stones.....Sixty Years And Counting. There'll never be another band like them. I'm a life long fan but here's a couple of tracks that are slightly different to the norm.....think you'll like them. "Thru and Thru" and "No Expectations".... check them out. Love your channel by the way
Superb musicians and always a lot of fun to watch with great songs. They were always so popular and probably still will be.I enjoyed your reaction it was great and thank you
Great reaction guys! I'd suggest checking out Street Fighting Man if you like this sound from them, it's killer. Also check out Peter Frampton's version of Jumping Jack Flash, he takes is on a more jazzy journey. So many songs from them, lots of time to explore!
You should react to a few songs from "Exile On Main St."! Songs like 'Rocks Off', 'All Down the Line', and 'Stop Breaking Down' are perfect songs to listen too. Fun fact: In 1972, the Stones were literally exiled from UK for "tax exile" and got screwed over by record label ABKCO, thus fleeing to the country of France where they recorded half of the albums music in the city of Nellcôte. The album is very diverse in some genres of music from Rock, Blues, Country, Jazz, some Psychedelia music and Gospel. Although it received mixed reviews at it's time, "Exile..." would be voted at 14th of the 500 Greatest Album's of All Time by Rolling Stone magazine! It's also my favorite album of theirs so I hope you check it out!
A true classic... I really wish you two would react to Joe Bonamassa... "Angel of Mercy" live at the Greek Theater or "Mountain Time" live at the Royal Albert Hall. He's one of the great guitarists.
Please react to more U2. 1) Pride In the Name of Love 2) Running to Stand Still 3) Where the Streets Have No Name 4) All I Want Is You 5) I Still Haven't Found What I'm looking For 6) Bad (Live Aid 1985)
I saw The Stones in 1989 they were awesome as they always are. Try this one for a total mind blower...“TIME HAS COME TODAY“- The Chambers Brothers - Album Long version, then Live. PLEASE and Thank You.
For a deep cut from the mighty Stones,I would strongly suggest from the Goats Head Soup album, the last track: Starfucker (all about a groupie). It flies along and encapsulates the Stones at their rocking, controversial best.
Oh yes, the brilliant partnership of Jagger) Richards. Longest running band in the world, since 1963, amazing!!! You must check out my theme, "It's only rock and roll (but I like it). If you can do the official video even better. A bit later than this song
This is a song I use to judge musicians on their student-skills. How dedicated are they to using the correct tuning? How willing are they to 'work' to get it to sound right, or just willing to fake it? Audiences can tell - they all jump up and down during the first first, but by the end of the song, when the audiences' enthusiasm wanes, an experienced watcher can tell. And those band members can see that, too. Oops... it's one thing to put out half-effort - it's another thing to realize the audience is faking it, too.
This was referenced by Don McLean in American Pie though still not sure exactly what he meant? Also it was played in Nightshift movie and Michael Keaton was even belting out the guitar riffs at one point, pretty funny movie.
They were a blues cover band. They saw that the Beatles were writing their own hits. They started writing their own songs. They wrote the first part of the Rock n Roll rule book. They were only 25. What were you doing at 25?
Just a bit of clarification.. the song may have been used in "Fear and Loathing..." but that's not where it's from. It was released in the '60s, decades before this movie. Check out "Angie" by them.
Thank you guys, always enjoy your reactions. Please react to "Sweet Virginia" by the Stones - you won't be disappointed - it's not a well known big hit, but at the same time it exemplifies what you discussed here, their ability to make great songs in any genre.
I can't recommend any song by the STONES - simply because I couldn't decide, there are too many good songs. I have over 40 vinyl LPs from them and when I feel like a song, I usually listen to the whole LP ;-)). Greets from hamburg (germany)
GUYS -- PARNI !! - Check out the movie called "Jumping Jack Flash" with Whoopie Goldberg - funny movie! You will find many details very funny!! "Play the song, and Find the Key"
Question: Why do you spell your last names differently if you are brothers? Thanks Oh, Patiko should dance more! lol I think George would be more fun at the club! lol 🤪
Apparently, the nonsense story of this song came about because Keith Richards had nicknamed his gardener, Jumping Jack Flash (probably because his demeanor was the opposite). From those words and the riff they created this song.
Just one of the great rock songs of all time. They never had more swagger than on "Jumpin' Jack Flash". This was the opening statement of the Stones imperial period.
“Imperical Period”.
1968-74
I’ve never heard that before, but I agree
I’m gonna use that line
@@Micknkeithable Just so long as you say imperial instead of imperical!

The driving rhythm of this song is uplifting for sure. "Tumbling Dice" is another classic (also covered by Linda Ronstadt). Thanks for your thoughts about the Stones - interesting discussion!
One great thing about the Stones is that what you hear from the studio recording is essentially exactly what you got from them live.
They kinda suck live.

The Stones have the longest list of good songs in rock n roll history
This is so PUNK!!

Jumpin Jack Flash it's a gas gas gas...
Just one of the great Stones songs. Let's dance guys !!!!!
This song was also kind of integral to the movie "Jumping Jack Flash" with Whoopi Goldberg. A great and funny movie.
Too bad Whoop is a dumb Dem, lol.
One of my favorites. Whoopi was great in it.
You are the only ones I've seen react to the studio version! You are demigods! Badass song - makes u wanna tear sh** up! Great job

Bro's, for your 15th and 16th Stones songs I'd recommend "She's So Cold" and "Tumbling Dice" !!
We thought this kind of magic would go on forever. It didn't.
Leon Russell version from "The Concert for Bangladesh" is really good.

Brian was a punk fer sure
Bill Wyman did not play in this recording. Keith Richards played the bass
@@sobrevalorado I'm just referring to what Bill Wyman said in his autobiography about how the song came to be.
Love the young Stones' music... Check out "Under My Thumb", "Mother's Little Helper," or "Midnight Rambler." Enjoyed this reaction guys!
What a nice reaction. As a Stones fan I forgot that this is a great song. As single it was kind of a comeback.
One of my favorite Stone's songs.
“Monkey Man” from the Let it Bleed album please!

Try "Shattered" about Life in NYC in the 70s. Fun and crazy song for sure. New York was coming apart at that time.
Jumping Jack Flash is the fucking Best The Rolling Stones Song to ever be Recorded!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks guys! Nice reaction as always! 😀
This is also the title of an 80's Whoopi Goldberg film.
Doo Doo Doo Heartbreaker, Get Off Of My Cloud, Angie, Wild Horses, Midnight Rambler are some personal favs!
