Monique, no! It's a win* for you. At 30:42, your wall movement was illegal. The wall has to be perpendicular to its original position. Overall, I don't think it really matter, but thought I mention it. Please correct me if I wrong but does the wall have to start at an enemy then to a fairy? Or as long as it's from one to anther it counts?
Oh for the Fairy wall-moving ability, "Antics," you just take a hedge that is adjacent to a Fairy and place it adjacent to an enemy. So it has to start from a fairy and end up next to an enemy, but doesn't have to be perpendicular.
@@BeforeYouPlay Holy Crap! I've been taking the iconography too literally. I just figured that every other faction had all wall position on the picture I just figured that was the only option. I haven't lost with the Witches yet, but now it'll be a lot easier to win.
Correct me if I'm wrong here but it doesn't look like there's anything new apart from the 4 races? I have Vol 1 already so this is just more of the same good stuff? (I wouldn't call the map new as they are interchangeable)
I have also been bombarded by marketing for this. Do you have any recommendations for games that are similar to Mythic Mischief, but better in your opinion?
@@NtropE I think Mythic Mischief is in essence an abstract game with added player abilities. In that I believe it is rather unique. Santorini is similar and very well regarded and I also dig War Chets a lot. Games I do like quite a bit but I wouldn't call amazing are Cairn and Tash-Kalar. On the more pure abstract side I am loving Yinsh, Shobu and Tak quite a bit. There aren't many games that attempt to turn an abstract game into something else, most seem to be rather unsuccessful. Mythic Mischief is oozing with style and makes an honorable attempt but ultimately does not deliver a very compelling experience that makes me want to get back to it.
Question about the setup; The rules say the second player should get a tome for upgrading, then just refer to page 27 which is for the full clean-up phase. Where does it say you should raise the die to the max value after shifting them to the right? Is it just implied you should do both the step 2 and 4 of the clean-up phase and skip the rest? Or does it say that elsewhere?
Yes, it's just implied that you should perform steps 2 and 4, shifting the die to match the number that is now above it after placing the tome. It's also shown in the setup example on page 17, but you're correct in that it is not specifically stated in the setup section. Hope this helps!
Moniques last turn was such a good play haha. I can see how that can feel so rewarding! Good gameplay you two, was really fun to watch :D!
Thank you! Glad I got him good!! Haha
Agreed. Hats off for that amazing last turn. It was an enjoyable game!
What a play! Good game, team. Really helped convince me!
Thanks for hanging out with us! Glad you found the video helpful!
Great playthrough!
Thank you Josh!!
Wow Navine you got ''HULK SMASHED" 🤣🤣
Monique is TOO GOOD at abstract strategy games!

Yeah it’s mainly the 4 new factions, but they made it stand alone so that new players didn’t have the need to buy Vol. I.
Are you guys playing the beta online? It’s fantastic!
Haven't tried it yet! :-(
Still waiting for IV Games to deliver a game as good as their marketing efforts!

I don't know Fractured Sky seems really cool. Mythic Mischief is not my favorite though.

@@NtropE Also, I am getting completely showered with their marketing and I am really fed up with it. It's too much
Great play through. I’m backing this, just trying to decide if I add “Appendix A” for more factions.
Thank you, hope you’ll have a lot of fun with your copy!
nice playthrough. Not my kind of game. thanks for the insight
Hi Jeff, thanks for checking it out! Glad the video was helpful either way! :-)

Thanks for answer! It bugged me not being absolutely sure since it sets up the balance for the whole game :) @@BeforeYouPlay
