I had to order that rainbow create cross stitch from your last video. I am still working on it. I work on it at the end of the day also, but been skipping many evenings. You inspire me to get back to it. Love to cross stitch, and make cards💕
Enjoyed your floss update. Is nice to hear that I am not the only one buying patterns and floss, yet trying to finish when thing at a time as permitted within other home or life obligation. You are keeping it real. This is a hobby and therefore, we should not be stressing over how quickly we complete a project, is just about enjoying the process and progress a stitch at a time. Take care!!!!
You will find what you like to stitch as you do more. You will also be changing colors or floss type (DMC to over-dyed) as you progress. If you are not loving the piece you are stitching, consider stopping as your time is precious. I have restarted many projects when I didn’t ‘feel’ it. TFS.
Your projects are beautiful. I think you have to do what works for you and you absolutely have to do it because you love it, not feeling under pressure to do something. I miscount all the time and like you I roll with it. X
OMG! I love the pink on pink Quaker! It's gorgeous! I totally can NOT tell that you messed up. .... I also would like to say that I really like just watching your journey on the stitching. I like having someone to connect to with my own stitching journey :)
Mindy- my favorite keepsake from my mom is the Christmas stocking she made for me…..she miscounted and ended up putting the last letter of my name squished up against the edge of the stocking! Handmade is beautiful !
Thanks for showing what you have created and purchased lately. I’ve really wanted to start cross stitching after watching Nichol Spohr, FQS, and now you. I even bought one of those kits from JoAnn’s, which was terrible, so I’ve been doing a lot of research and learning as much as I can ahead of time. Now I’ve decided to “encourage” myself by saying I can’t buy anything cross stitch related until I get my craft room/office completely reorganized and purged. Question for you: Have you tried using an inexpensive pair of reading glasses rather than a magnifying glass? I did that for the JoAnn’s kit and it actually worked really well, as long as I didn’t look up too quickly. lol. It might help with the black fabric since 28 even weave is the same as 14 count Aida, just go over 2 holes-I learned that from Nichol and FQS.
Thanks! FQS has some really good kits. That's what I started with and really like them plus they have some great videos on their UA-cam channel. I do have readers, just depends if i have my contacts in or not lol but it got way too hard to watch tv and cross stitch when using my readers
You amaze me!!! How do you do it all? I have done the cross stitching and have given nearly all my supplies away. Wish I had known you when I was giving it all to others. My Dad also did beautiful work and designed some of his own patterns. Gave all his away also. Once I got involved with cards stitching bit the dust. Card making is fun, relaxing but uses up my brain cells like crazy and in addition my eyes can't take the tiny stitches anymore. Your work is lovely and puleassee we all make mistakes and do the pulling out, so don't be hard on yourself. Will be looking forward to seeing some of your finished items. Love it!!

I totally feel you Mindy - who knew counting could be so hard! And I am struggling with linen - I am going to have to convert my projects to Aida! 🤗

lol no worries! I obviously purchase faster then I can create which isn't much different then card making supplies 😂
I appreciate your down to earth video. It has inspired me to dig out some old projects.
